Today, our Executive Director Susan Cook-Williams was joined by three other Directors of social service agencies in town to talk about housing in Jefferson City. Angela Hirsch, director at RACS; Brian Vogeler, Shelter Director of Salvation Army; and Tina Mollenkamp, Director of Common Ground. Join us as we discuss the housing issues in Jefferson City and the struggles our clients are facing as they look for affordable housing.

Today, we spoke with one of our newest Habitat homeowners, Rashad. He and his beautiful family moved into their home late September and are a proud part of the Habitat family. Rashad talks about his experience in the program, what life was like prior to being a homeowner and why the program was so important to him. It's a great discussion so we hope you enjoy!

On May 22, 2019, a tornado devastated our town. One of the hardest hit areas was around Jackson Street and it affected our affordable housing market. Along with the 5 homes that we are currently building for our regular homeownership program, we are committed to building four additional brand new homes on Jackson Street to assist with our town's recovery. Today, we speak with Ron Medin, long time Habitat volunteer and chair of the Blitz Build Committee, about the Blitz Build plans, how people can get involved and how the history of our affiliate relates to this year's effort.
