4 tips to embracing hope through the heartaches of motherhood
As my children get older I realize more and more that our time with them is limited. Just the other day I saw a photo of a peaceful spot my daughter and I used to go - and there instead were her and her friends together. It is during these moments I reflect on my mother and the times I shared with her and I give thanks for having such a great role model of being a mom, knowing when to cherish the times, and when to let go and watch your child(ren) fly.Today on Holly's Highlights podcast we will look at 4 tips on embracing hope through the heartaches of motherhood. From the discouragements and watching our children face consequences in life, to the important role we play and enjoying each season we find ourselves in with our kiddos, we'll learn:1. that it's worth it2. not to take full credit, nor all the blame3. the importance of being their parent4. intentionally being in the momentOur children spreading their wings and flying is perfectly normal and healthy. No matter the stage of life they are in may we always choose to embrace hope through the heartaches of motherhood. For more on this topic I highly recommend the following resources:Babywise books for new momsHomebuilders parenting series for those with school aged children (this makes a great small group study too)Family Camp at Glorieta in New Mexico (mention Holly’s Highlights podcast to inquire about a first time discount) And then of course here on Holly’s highlights podcast check out: Season 2 episode 12 - Hey Mommas happy Mother’s Day Season 2 episode 14 - Lessons learned from my dad Season 2 episode 29 - Parenting Kids’ Screen Time Season 3 episode 15 - How to create a family mission statement Season 3 episode 26 - How to give the gift of being in the presentSupport the show Visit www.hollycurby.com for more information and to sign up for the monthly Holly's Happenings e-newsletter.

Spring Forward: Envision, Accept, Reflect
Spring has sprung! Now, who's ready to get started on planting their flowerbeds? There is much we can learn as leaders and in life from planting flowers: ENVISION - What do you want your life to look like in 5 years? What seed will you plant today, so it can take root tomorrow, and blossom in the days and years ahead? ACCEPT - Not everyone has to like all the flowers in the garden, and it's ok when we aren’t everyone’s favorite flower either. What role are you stepping in to where everyone is comparing you to the previous boss or committee or person who oversaw this or that? Don’t worry about trying to meet every need and being liked by everyone. Simply BLOOM where YOU are planted! REFLECT - We often reflect influences we are around. What are you absorbing from others around you, what boundaries might you need to set, what mindsets might you need to change? What is the light you want to absorb, so that it’s a light you are proud to reflect? Related episodes on Holly’s Highlights podcast: Hey Mommas on Season 2 episode 12 (if you need a little encouragement as you bloom where you are planted) Purpose in our path Season 2 episode 13 (if you still need to find your way there) Overcoming inferiority season 2 episode 17 and How to Self Love (season 4 episode 3) Wherever you find yourself today, may you spring forward in envisioning, accepting, and reflecting. 8 Ways to Embrace Change Fatigue - Professionally and Personally
A New Year can often bring with it many changes. Changes in our goals as we seek to adopt New Year's resolutions. Changes in the weather (man has the snow piled up here in Utah!). Perhaps changes in jobs, homes, or even seasons of life. During this time it may be quite normal to want to resist the change, or feel overwhelmed by it, but when we get right down to it we may just be experiencing a little bit of what is referred to as change fatigue. Although change fatigue is often applied to the ongoing changes within an organization, it definitely applies to our personal life too. In today's episode on Holly's Highlights podcast we'll take a deeper look into the self reflection that change can bring as we provided resources to the questions of "Who am I?", "What's my value/purpose?" and "What's next?" You'll walk away with a better understanding of the following resources and tools to help you fight change fatigue: The love language test Personality tests Spiritual gifts Bucket list Dreams Goals Value/priorities Personal Mission statement As Steve Jobs has said, “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” You my friend, are as David writes in Palms 139:14, "fearfully and wonderfully made." How to Start a Podcast
2 years ago Holly’s Highlights podcast released. We have just released our 62 episode, have reached sponsorship level, have celebrated yet another goal with our listenership and even have listeners on every continent - how cool is that?! I never would have imagined that here I’d be two years into this, someone who honestly hadn’t even listened to podcasts, and I am absolutely LOVING it! 😍 Although my podcast came into fruition as result of pre-planning for my book to be published, there are many reasons podcasts are created:- promote your brand, product or services- share about a topic you are passionate about- position yourself as an expert or authority in your industry- to increase your audience for other avenues- create community- or perhaps just because it's fun!Unfortunately only 32% of podcasts make it to their 1st to 3rd year. There are 55% of Americans who listened to podcasts, 51% of those are males, and 79% tend to listen to podcasts while commuting. The most popular age group listening to podcasts? Ages 35-54.Now, if you have learned anything from me I hope it’s the importance of having a growth mindset. So, today we have Meredith Hackwith Edwards, host of Meredith for Real podcast, with us on Holly's Highlights podcast to help us learn the ins and outs of starting a podcast.Take Aways: - steps to starting your own podcast- equipment suggestions to help you excel- suggestions of where to host your show- podcasting distribution links vs. you tube podcasting- how to reach your audience, promote your show, and build your reach- what sponsorships look like- hacks and tips to relieve the stress of podcastingWe know that starting something new can be scary! Where are all the people? Employment in a Post Pandemic World
We've all shared the same thought when we see the hiring signs or experience the delayed service at a restaurant or clothing store - where are all of the people?!? It seems like everyone is hiring, and yet at the same time everyone seems to be experiencing this new epidemic of being short staffed.
