"What an excellent day for an exorcism.". That's right! And what a show this is! Not only are we reviewing one of the all-time shocking classics of horror films "The Exorcist" (1973), but we're going to give our own shocking news as well! You'll have to listen to find out. It's a doozy and we're excited about the changes. This isn't your regular show! Be sure to follow us and the upcoming stuff happening so you don't get lost! But, first things first. We'll try to exorcise any demons on our show and see if we possess the skills to review this devilish flick.

This episode features a friend-pick by Faith Lawrence for giving Shawn a signed poster of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". Her choice was one of her all-time favorite movies - "Hook" (1991). We gave our nostalgic reviews last week. Now, we're back after watching it to give our current ratings and review. We'll get into the story, the characters and the actors who play them.Just in time for Halloween, we'll nostalgically review a horror flick from 1973; a film that still scares people 40 years later. We're coming to you from America to bring you "Coming To America" (1988). Alright, so our comedy isn't up to the likes of Eddie Murphy, but we get the pleasure of bringing you our current ratings and discussion of this movie. We have a great time talking about all things that make this movie work. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... STAR WARS (1977). We finally get to do this ground-breaking movie now that we've expanded our decade focus to include the 70's and 90's along with the classic 80's. Just listening to this episode, you can tell the impact this movie had on us as wee lads and how it shaped our childhood fantasies. We both gave very high nostalgic ratings. In fact, Mike gave this a 5 out of 5 nostalgic rating... a first. Will we hold on to our high ratings after watching this for our current ratings and discussion? With all the troubles we had getting this episode out there for public consumption, we're quite pleased with the results. Overcoming catastrophic failure the first time around, we come back strong with our current, CURRENT review and ratings of "Jaws" (1975). Mike and Shawn don't share the same current view on this one at all and go back and forth exchanging blows to make their case for who is right. The gloves are off. The 80's was a decade of technology advancement. So many new technologies improved our daily lives. But, sooner or later, those technologies morph into other types of newer technology or just disappear all together.This week, we bring you a Totally Tubular Edition featuring "80's Tech Long Gone". We'll go over a list of some 80's technology that seems to have dropped off the face of the Earth.... or at least just isn't thought of as something to use or is needed anymore. In typical Stanley Kubrick style, this movie could have been cut down to a more manageable time which may have helped keep the suspense going, but it is what it is. We'll talk about all things good and bad about the movie and give our comparisons between our nostalgic and current ratings. We both enjoyed this movie back in the day and it's one of Graham's all time favorites. Does it still hold a special place in our hearts after watching it again after all these years? We'll go from Jack Burton to Jack Torrance after the break for this horror movie from 1980 starring Jack Nicholson. That's a lot of Jacks! It's back to the 80's with the cult-status movie "Blade Runner" (1982). Harrison Ford stars in this dark futuristic world where his character, Deckard, has to track down and terminate four replicants who hijacked a ship in space and have returned to Earth seeking their maker. This movie has a large following and we remembered the big buzz if Deckard himself was a replicant or not. But, does it live up to our nostalgic remembrances? We'll then head down to Chinatown for our nostalgic review of a 1986 adventure/fantasy movie starring Kurt Russell and Kim Cattrall. You're in big trouble if you don't know what movie this is!

We're finally back from our vacation to bring you our first 90's movie, "Goodfellas" (1990).  Our main focus will be the 80's but as we mentioned previously, we'll be doing some 70's and 90's movies as well as we grew up throughout these decades.You can't go too wrong with an all-star cast like Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci. But, there were a string of gangster/mob movies back in the day. How does this hold up after 23 years?Then, we're back to the early 80's with a Ridley Scott sci-fi involving Deckard who must track down and terminate 4 replicants who hijacked a ship in space and have returned to Earth seeking their maker.

Keeping with our announcement last episode, we're expanding our movie choices from not only the 80's, but also movies from the 70's and 90's as we realized a lot of the movies we grew up watching started in the 70's and go right through to the 90's.So, last week, we gave our nostalgic review and ratings of the 1978 horror classic "Halloween". We're back after watching it with our current ratings and discussion. Is this movie intelligent enough to scare today's audiences?  We'll break it down.And just because we can, we're jumping to 1990 after the break to talk about the next movie up for discussion where it follows Henry Hill and his friends working their way up through the mob hierarchy. Who doesn't love a good gangster-type movie?

We're back to have a difference of opinion over this week's current discussion of "Conan The Barbarian" (1982). We've watched it last week and now we're back to talk about it. Who's got the more realistic current rating? We'll both defend our ratings to the death!After Conan, we announce a small format change that leads us into our next movie. Over the past year, we've focused strictly on movies of the 80's. Going forward, we're going to expand to movies ranging from the 70's to the 90's as we found that there are quite a few movies that started in the 70's and had sequels that went straight into the 90's. This change also aligns us more with our upcoming plans we have been teasing about with the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema!  More details on this to come! So, with that said, we're going back to 1978 for the start of an iconic horror villain and the beginning of a series that went all the way to 2002 before finally rebooting. The tagline of this movie was "It's the night he came home".

It's another Eddie Murphy episode featuring "Trading Places" (1983)! Last week, we both gave pretty high nostalgic ratings for this 30 year old classic. But, does it hold up to our nostalgic memories? We'll go over our current review and ratings after watching it last week. We'll, then, set up next week's episode with our nostalgic discussion of one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's first break-out films (1982) prior to The Terminator.

"Tuff Turf" (1985) is up for cynical discussion after last episode's announcement of the our "Review and Win" contest winners where Jawsome took first place with her review of this movie. Check out her winning review and all the other winners and entries at movie-blogger.com! Although we haven't seen this movie before, we gave it a chance based on her review and now we're back to talk about it. Was this the most over-looked movie of the decade or does it just deserve to be over-looked? We'll break it down. Our next movie we're revisiting from 1983 has two Saturday Night Live alumni starring in a comedy where one goes from rags to riches and the other from riches to rags.

We're taking a break from our regularly scheduled episodes to bring you another installment of a Totally Tubular Edition featuring 80's Rumors! Remember growing up and hearing a rumor about a star or maybe an anonymous person where something shocking happened but without the internet available like today, you really had no good way of verifying the rumor? Some rumors were pretty shocking and spread from coast to coast and maybe even globally just by word of mouth. We have a great time going over our personal favorites we remember growing up in the 80's.
