An Alternative Perspective on Addiction, Recovery & The Highly Sensitive Person
In today’s episode, we explore the relationship between addiction and the highly sensitive person. Drawing on Marina’s journey and path of recovery and her training in compassionate inquiry with Dr Gabor Mate, we explore the definition of addiction outside of the mainstream medical model, and the subtle ways addiction can show up in our lives. We also discuss the 8-step recovery program, co-founded by Dr, Valerie Mason-John and Dr Paramabandhu Groves which uses Buddhist teachings to overcome addiction and which Marina is also trained in. Finally, we explore and share our relationship with the wounded healer, and how it is our own wounds, trauma and challenges that propelled us on our healing path, and which eventually led us to coach, counsel and guide others on their journey of healing, recovery and transformation.About Marina...Marina specializes in alternative approaches to health, spirituality, and life in general.
