The Roadrage Podcast – 009 – Saying Goodbye & Routines
So I recorded this episode on Wednesday (very sorry I didn't get around to uploading it sooner!) And I'm also extremely sorry for not putting out a new podcast episode for so long. Things have been crazy, as you might imagine, because this episode was recorded on what was my last drive to work (though not technically my last day at work because today, on Friday, I took the train to allow for a night out to celebrate and say goodbye... In this episode I give an update on everything that's happened over the past month relating to The Big Move, and also talk a bit about routines and how important they are for me (as well as many other writers, I'm sure). Episode 09 Download If you prefer, you can listen to it on YouTube as well (and subscribe, while you're at it). The Roadrage Podcast – 008 – Book Launch Do’s & Don’ts
I apologise for the delay putting this up, despite putting the youtube version online yesterday. And I also apologise for perhaps sounding weird, but I seem to be suffering from a bit of hayfever lately... This episode will be more of interest to those also in the writing/publishing game because I'm talking about book launches, specifically the upcoming launch of The Rebound List. A few do's and don'ts from someone who's never properly launched a book before. ;) Enjoy. Episode 08 Download If you prefer, you can listen to it on YouTube as well (and subscribe, while you're at it). The Roadrage Podcast – 007 – Random Rage
In this episode I go into detail about one of the main things that piss me off in my current job (hint: it's probably going to ring within the next five minutes), and also I talk a little bit about dieting. BTW, I'm giving out review copies of my upcoming release, The Rebound List. If you're happy to leave an early review on/around the 28th when it officially comes out, please let me know and I'll send you a copy. Episode 07 Download If you prefer, you can listen to it on YouTube as well (and subscribe, while you're at it). The Roadrage Podcast – 006 – BMW Drivers are Cocks
Welcome to episode 6 of the Roadrage podcast. Today I talk about cars in general and specifically I confirm that all BMW drivers are cocks. I also talk more about the move, progress being made, and more cars. Did I mention I talk a bit about cars too? Episode 06 Download If you prefer, you can listen to it on YouTube as well (and subscribe, while you're at it). The Roadrage Podcast – 005 – Secret Lives & Awkwardness
It suddenly occurs to me that writing about something I mindlessly spoke into a phone while driving, is actually quite tedious. Anyway, here goes: In this new episode (sorry for skipping last week!) I chat a little bit about having a secret life, associated awkwardness and finally coming out about my writing a little bit. Episode 05 Download If you prefer, you can listen to it on YouTube as well (and subscribe, while you're at it). The Roadrage Podcast – 004 – Don’t call my car a PoS!
In this new episode, I completely fail to mention that you can now subscribe to the podcast on iTunes and Windows phones and god knows where else. Anyway, what I do talk about is a subject very dear to my heart; my car. And a little something that happened to it yesterday... Episode 04 Download If you prefer, you can listen to it on YouTube as well (and subscribe, while you're at it). The Roadrage Podcast – episode 03
I didn't expect I'd be recording so many of these within such a short time, but I've had surprisingly much to talk about. Before going into more detail though, I'd like to say that this episode is dedicated to David W. Wright and Carl Sinclair, for reasons which those of you in the know will be able to determine quite quickly. An in-joke if you will. Both are fellow writers and both show up quite a lot on other, way more pro and serious podcasts than this one. I'm sure Dave would rather not be known as "that guy who rants about Target", but it's a bit too late to have second thoughts now. If you're not aware of him, check out the Self Publishing Podcast (NSFW) and its unsightly offspring which would best be kept locked in a dungeon, Better off Undead (super-NSFW) which he hosts together with Johnny B. Truant and Sean Platt, or visit his website where he also hosts his own solo podcast, The Walking Dave.Carl Sinclair (ultra-NSFW) might as well be a co-host of Better off Undead, considering how often he has been on there as a guest lately, but also has his own podcast (or is it more of a walking vlog?), Geekwalker, and is one of the permanent hosts of the Self Publishing Round Table. I sometimes wonder if Carl and Dave are in fact non-identical twins who were somehow separated at birth, or just possessed by the same grumpy spirit. Either way, although I cannot hope to ever reach the heights of rage these two are able to effortlessly display, I was still loosely inspired by them with this episode where I talk about my recent grocery shopping experience in Aldi. Spoiler alert: I wasn't happy and if anyone wants a justification for my irritability, I'll blame it on working late every day for pretty much months now. ;) Next, admin stuff: I have figured out how to add my podcast feed to various services and am proud to announce that you can now find me on iTunes, Windows phones and Zune, which can't be a bad thing. The Roadrage Podcast – episode 02
Funny how productive you can be (purely in the context of a new podcast) when something's got your goat. In this episode I talk about how Google Play has been pissing me off lately, and what I intend to do about it. Sorry, readers, this episode might not appeal to you as much as it would to other writers, and sorry, readers on Google Play, my novel Just Another Day at the Office is not going to be available there for the foreseeable future. I explain why in the podcast.  Episode 02 Download If you prefer, you can listen to it on YouTube as well (and subscribe, while you're at it). The Roadrage Podcast – episode 01-and-a-half
Download Initial feedback when I released the first episode to a limited audience on Friday night suggested I need more rage. Here it is. Please don't have any expectations, I wouldn't want people to be disappointed ;) If you prefer, you can listen to it on YouTube as well (and subscribe, while you're at it). The Roadrage Podcast – episode 01
There used to be a time, where I'd be stuck in one place, not able to get any writing done, or even much else. That time, which I affectionately called "storytime" (no, I really didn't until I wrote this sentence just now), was the time of day I'd spend listening to podcasts or audiobooks. My commute to and from work. On Friday, after a crazy, stressful week, rather than listening to one of the podcasts further down my playlist, I instead switched on the voice recorder feature on my phone, and did my own. It's something I'd been thinking about for a while. Wouldn't it be fun to do a podcast? I've even got a fancy mic at home... The thing is though, with the way things have been going lately, there is absolutely no chance I'll sit in front of my pc at home and record a podcast. There's dinner to be prepared, sofas to be slumped back on and TV to be watched. (all of which count as "quality time with the hubby", without which he'll stage a revolution). Others have done walking podcasts, but really, that wouldn't work for me either, so why not a driving podcast? I'm sure any sane person can think of countless reasons why not, but for better or for worse, the Roadrage podcast is a thing now. Listen to episode 1 below.  Episode 01 Download Wherein I introduce certain massive changes I'm equally looking forward to and am worrying about at the moment. Things are going to be quite different indeed, come the end of the year... If you prefer, you can listen to it on YouTube as well (and subscribe, while you're at it).
