Black Adam is not a terrible movie, it's just not a lot of fun. DC got it right with Shazam but this movie tries to be somewhere between it and the Snyderverse and you're left wiht a lot of hollow action scenes. Oh yeah the bad guy is stupid.Hate Watching in the Super Show with Super Opinions (just what we all need right now)

This movie does not really show us Godzilla. We see his tail, we see his legs, we see a whole lot of his crotch but rarely do we get to see him destroy Tokyo (and he is in NYC for this go around for no real reason).  This is Roland Emmercih trying to make a Steven Spielberg movie and he gets it wrong at every turn. And don't get us started on the "stars".Hate Watching is the Show that is a day late and a dollar short.

As we take our brief EOY hiatus, here is a reminder of where we started. One of our favorite movies and episodes we've done! The infamous classic: Mac and Me! 

The sequel no one wanted and I have to imagine no one will ever care about. At least the first one had Ryan Reynolds in it. Lots of talking and walking and following and not really anything much happening. This movie makes less sense the more you think about it. At least Christopher Nolan movies just seem stupider the more you think about them. This is worse. But sadly Chris Pine is amazing, Florence Pugh is amazing, the production design is great. But the writing, mystery, thrills, sexiness, turns just aren't here. Its a huge jumble mess of ideas with no connecting thread.Hate Watching is the only film analysis you need.

This one is a classic mess - is it a kids movie? is it for adults? Is it really made for no one and is not at all funny - Yep that it is. This is not the classic that a Nightmare before Christmas was. There is not much here, no real friendship story, no romance, no adventure, no excitement. like I said not much. The one positives that Tony found the female turkey oddly attractive - so thats something.Hate Watching is the show that protects the holidays from movies like this.

Take a bunch of useless action, add a bunch of useless explanation, steal a bunch of tropes from other movies and you get this mess of a movie. And don't get us started on how terrible  all the characters are. They are just barely characters.Hate Watching is the show that tells you about the blockbusters that no-one even registered into your consciousness.

***Spoilers Ahead for the new Netflix Comedy 'Me Time'***Of course the spoiler is that it's meh. And so is this show. How did you find this anyhow? Shouldn't you be working right now instead of listening to this? This week the guys dive into the new Kevin Hart jambox Me Time and wish that instead of watching this movie they were having us time as best friends. Also, Tony wrote this description instead of Dan. Let us know if you like this description better than the 120 other descriptions and I'll do all the rest moving forward. I need a win.

Perhaps this story should have remained Untold. This is the 10th movie in the storied franchise and boy is it nuts - puppets, nazis, reanimation, sexy nazi lady, etc, etc. And there is Sarge ready to throw down with them all. This is just barely a horror movie, more of a weird sic-fi hybrid.Hate Watching is the only show that takes the puppets acting skills into account.

After Twilight, they tried to follow the formula and make a bunch more movies that would appeal in the same way. The Mortal Instruments fails to do this. The only thing really good in here is Jamie Campbell Bower. He tries hard while the "star" girl is just bad.The villain is even worse, the betrayal by one in the midst is inconsequential and what they want is not at all defined. Oh Hollywood, just hire some people with chemistry and then you might stand a chance of having a movie.Hate Watching is to movies what candy is to Halloween. Bad for your health, but addicting.

The idea of Jurassic Park is that humans use science to recreate these magnificent animals for us to marvel at but human hubris leads to mismanagement which causes danger to people at the park. This movie is about how Dinos are the most bloodthirsty creatures ever and their only goal is to kill humans or their vehicles except when the humans hold out their hands or move slowly. No Wonder. No Fun. No Adventure. Just killing and being killed. What garbage.Hate Watching is the show that busts the blockbusters.

This movie is terrible. No surprise there. It is trying to be a million different things and failing at pretty much all of them except the Dino suit, which is Okay. Avatar is the most beautiful video game ever made, sadly they thought they could make more money releasing it as a bad movie instead. So they did that and made lots of money. But as a movie it is pretty thin, the writing is think, the story is thin, the acting is thin, etc. But as a sumptuous beautiful video game world, it is second to none, even all these years later. It is about a guy who becomes an alien and does it better than all of them so he leads them against the humans and wins. This movie is exactly what you think it is. An almost classic movie from 1991 with Mickey Roarke being Mickey and Don Johnson wondering why he isn't the biggest star in the world. It starts strong establishing these rebel characters in a slightly future world. Then come badly paced action scenes and villains that mostly just stand there and shoot guns. Rolling blackouts, unprecedented temps, its hell on earth! And we are still here watching terrible movies. Sometimes you have to do what you know. Not that we know what we are doing. We didn't go to film school, Tony is an actor and I'm an artist. But we've grown up on media, it's in our brains, it rules our lives, help, help. The good news is that there is plenty of good stuff to watch when the bad movies end.
