Prioritizing corrections - Correcting symptoms or the root cause
Another episode from my drive home from camp(sorry for the sound quality) on the topic of phrasing your statements to the athletes in an actionable way. Here we examine a fairly common coaching habit of correcting a symptom, such as not going high enough on a skill, versus correcting the root cause, a muscle group not firing at the right time. Admittedly this one is not as useful with-out visuals so bear with me or feel free to skip a head to another episode. My main example is on a Yurchanco in case you get confused. I go into detail on some of the specific reasons that cause this and how to avoid the unwanted consequences. Your browser does not support the audio element. Download the episode here

Phrasing Corrections - Are your corrections actionable?
Another episode from my drive home from camp(sorry for the sound quality) on the topic of phrasing your statements to the athletes in an actionable way. We may think so but here I dive into one simple change I ask my athlete's to make when talking about how they feel a skill went. If you like it you may want to start phrasing your feelings on the athlete's performance the same way. Your browser does not support the audio element. Download Episode 1 here

Welcome to the Hacking Gymnastics Podcast
Camp season is over and during my long drive home I decided to kill some time by reviewing some of the lesions that the people who have attended my clinics said they found valuable. This is the first episode. Here I discuss the basics of what the podcast is. So sorry for the audio quality but here is my first experiment in pod-casting lessons learned on coaching and the Hacking Gymnastics Podcast. Your browser does not support the audio element.
