Welcome, welcome, welcome to Gumbo Jukebox Episode #020. We are back, back for a new year, back with a massive load of killer tunes to see you into the new year.   Blues side we kick off the year with some Junior Wells, Screamin’  Jay Hawkins and a great slice of blues groove with the Mighty Joe Young. Starting the jazz side off for 2021 we push the boat out with Vince Guaraldi, Erroll Garner, Moses Boyd, Tina Brooks and a wonderful CLIVE from Oscar Peterson and the boys. Topping the show of with the usual sprinkle of funk, soul, R&B and country it’s a great show to start off the year. Happy New Year folks.Chis & JesseGumbo Jukebox

Welcome, welcome, welcome to Gumbo Jukebox Isolation #021 Well this is the last of the Isolation sessions once again. We are going back in the studio thank god so thank you for putting up with the poor quality of things. Still, there is some killer stuff for you all this week to make up for all that business. This week to fill out our blues section we listen to some classic players such as Memphis Slim, Sonny Boy, and Champion Jack Dupree as well as discovering a one off player called Lum Guffin.  In jazz land we get involved with such greats as Red Garland, Jimmy Smith, Ben Webster and Oscar Peterson as well as a new one to the show Stanton Moore. Tidying up the show with a load of classic funk, soul, and a dabble of ska it’s a killer show full of facts and fun.  We hope you enjoy the show as much as we did making it.  Chis & Jesse

Well this week we gonna break that cycle with some great tunes for you.  In the world of blues we chat about Nina Simone, Monte Easter and listen to some more modern blues from Asie Payton. Pushing the boat out in jazz we take in some Ornette Coleman, The Western Transient plus some classic J.J.
