If you could share a pizza and a glass of wine.....
I love these dinner party type questions, don't you? Who would you choose to share a pizza and a glass of wine with?  It can be anyone at all. And what would you order? This episode was so much fun. From Dolly Parton to Galileo!  We had them all - together with some interesting pizza choices!  My guests really had some great answers! I hope you enjoy this final episode of Season 1.  I'll be back with Season 2 in September 2020.  Thank you so much for all your feedback too, I have really enjoyed bringing these episodes to you!  Thank you for listening!

What do you wish you had done sooner?
Ah!  That old question that makes us look back over our time in business and think "if only I know what I know now I would have done that so much sooner!" I'm not one for looking back in regret, only in the lessons we learn, the business owner we evolve into and the positives we bring from those 'if only' moments into our day to day decision making now. I asked each of my guests from Season 1 what has held them back and what they wish they had done sooner.  This is all part of our business journey, our founder's story and shapes our future actions. I hope you enjoy, and I'd love you to let me know what you would have done sooner!  Tag me on Instagram @therealkatiemac and let me know.

How to reconnect with your audience to create consistent content with confidence.
This episode is a dream if you have roadblocks when it comes to creating content.  This happens to the best of us, and can be so frustrating, can stop our flow of any marketing or visibility campaigns we might be on, and the longer we're out of ideas, the harder it is to get going again! Welcome Rachel Forcella to episode 6!   Rachel is a content strategist and works with female entrepreneurs across the globe, helping them to gain clarity around their business by uncovering their message and revealing their voice – and empowering them to use their message and voice through content that attracts, connects and engages with their ideal clients. In this episode, Rachel shares why creating content for your business has to be a non-negotiable if you want to grow your profile, your community and your impact online. But it has go further than a cute meme and an image of a laptop!  She helps us unlock how to work out what to create that will stick, how to build momentum and how to find out what your community really need from you.   There is so much goodness in this episode, and I know you will get your content vibe back after listening to it.

Why you should build your marketing plan around your brand, and not your offer
Do you ever wish you could get off the marketing rollercoaster?  Then this episode is exactly what you need to be listening to. No more 'launch mode', no more swamping your community whenever you have something to sell, only for your activity and visibility to fall away again after your campaign has closed. You're then back to the periodic newsletters and social updates. Well, meet Ash Burnside from the Empire Lab!  She has just the solution for you to consistently market your business and your offers, without feeling salesy and without having to go into launch mode. Market your brand, not your offer. Ashley is a marketing expert and coach who teaches people how to leverage their unique brilliance and business to design and build out their digital empires using marketing plans that put them wildly in demand. She's worked with many clients across industries including coaches, designers, copywriters, financial planners, and consultants and shown them the path to higher profits and consistent high-revenue months. Marketing your brand doesn't feel particularly intuitive does it. But it is so much more natural, and easier, to focus on keeping an undercurrent of marketing activity running consistently and layer extra, specific offer-based, marketing on top of that.  When you've listened to Ash and her energy and enthusiasm for this way of doing things, you won't look back.

Why your value proposition is the secret to a deeper connection with your audience
If you and I met at a networking event, or were having a virtual coffee chat and I asked you "So tell me what you do?" what would you say? You would probably tell me something long the lines of you're a coach, a graphic designer, a copywriter, or a project manager for example, and that would be correct.  That's the function you provide your clients with that helps them with a specific problem or issue they have. You get the job done. But, that's only the half of what you do.  So many times we all overlook the value that bring with us when we do what we say we do.  The transformation we are creating for the person or business that we work with. That value is the often hidden thing that people actually want to know.  Potential clients want to know you have the right skills to do what they need you to, but they're also looking for the magic that goes with it. The secret sauce that means you'll create the most fantastic experience that they're not even sure they want yet! Your value proposition. I am so excited to welcome Lisa Princic from Scaling Deep to episode #3.  Lisa helps impact-driven business owners dive deep into their unique value and business models to build sustainable, profitable brands. She helps them simplify their offers, focus their brand with bolder messaging, strengthen and deepen their marketing systems. As you'll hear in the episode, we need to be bolder and start actually talking about our value proposition, and how we work with clients and what they can expect from the services we have.  But first we know what our value proposition is and how to articulate it well. Lisa lives and breathes value propositions and how they can revolutionise how you work in your business. It's a fantastic episode and her advice is one we should all be taking, and implementing whenever we have conversations with our clients.

Get Legit. Learn to love the legal side of business
When I was planning the podcast episodes for Season 1, I knew that I wanted Lucy as a guest so I'm thrilled she is here for episode 3! Lucy Wheeler, also known as Lucy Legal, helps business owners at all levels of their business journey get the legal aspects in place so they can protect themselves, their brand, and also their clients.  The legal side of business can be tricky and quite emotive.  You might not think you need contracts in place as you know the people you are working, they might be friends or former colleagues, or you might just feel that presenting someone, anyone, with a lengthy contract just doesn't 'go' with how you do business. Lucy and I were really careful when recording this episode, as we didn't want it to come over as there we were scaring business owners with horror stories of what can happen if you don't have contracts and policies.  There is none of that.  But what there is, is Lucy explaining brilliantly what you need in place, why, how it can help you and it's never too late to get legit! After listening, I hope that if you haven't got any of the legal side sorted, Lucy has convinced you to add this to you to-do list!

How I first started out in business and my mission for this podcast
I knew the first episode in Season 1 would have to be all about me, and that was a bit of a scary prospect!  As an introvert, and with 10 years in business behind me, but also pretty much behind a laptop, I knew that it was going to be a personal challenge to record.  I'm not used to talking about me, and my knowledge, expertise, achievements, and how far I've come since December 2010.  I won't disclose how many takes there where, let's just say I'm learning...! This short episode explains how it all started, and to introduce you to what Season 1 is about.  If you've not listened to the trailer episode yet then go back and have a listen as that will give you a taste of some of the episodes that are coming up.I really hope you enjoy this first season.  I'd love any feedback, a review and for you to share your favourite episodes on social media. Thank you for listening!
