We’re going big time, folks...it’s our first Skype interview with some doctors!! Meet Dr. Lauren Vigna (http://www.firstcaremedcenter.com/family-practice/) and Dr. Hamilton Stapell (http://www.hamiltonstapell.com/) who joined us to chat about the changes in focus, or at least what we think are some changes in focus, on CrossFit’s website and various media products.Lauren has practiced as a Family Care Practitioner for the last 19 years and is a 10-year CrossFitter. She was one of the original CFMDL-1 attendees at the Ranch in Aromas, CA and continues to find ways to include CrossFit’s prescription into her professional practice.Hamilton is a historian of twentieth-century Europe. His research and writing focus on the political and cultural history of Spain since its transition to democracy in 1975. He is currently Associate Professor of History at the State University of New York, New Paltz. In this episode, we explore why we think there’s been such a definitive shift towards CrossFit Health, how this impacts us as professionals, and why it’s so exciting to be a part of this “pivot” in the CrossFit movement. If you like this stuff, you can check out some of Lauren’s comments in a recent article on Vox.com here:https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2018/12/13/18095546/crossfit-greg-glassman-doctors-health-care-preventionAnd you can watch Hamilton’s presentation on the physical culture movement from 100 years ago here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=10&v=_d6nV-HyadY And as always, if you like what we’re doing on Grounds After Rounds, please leave us a review, rate us, or send us some suggestions for future episodes at info@fairwindscrossfit.comSee you in the box!
