Time For De-Cluttering (Part 2)- GVL031
I talked a little in the last episode about the idea of clutter, primarily the most obvious, which is physical clutter. So I wanted to talk a little more about the less obvious things that can really clutter up our existence, and decrease our internal peace. The ideas of physical clutter can be applied to all kinds of areas of our lives. It comes down to simplicity. It allows us to focus on the things, people, and circumstances that really add value and peace to our lives; and decreasing the things and interactions with people who don’t. So I wanted to talk a little more today about how you might be able to increase and create wellness in your life by de-cluttering in different areas. Time For De-Cluttering (Part 1)- GVL030
As it’s coming up on spring, I get so excited for all kinds of reasons. It’s like magic to me. The beautiful weather, blooming plants, and also spring cleaning; or more like spring de-cluttering. For the most part, I live a pretty simplistic life that provides a lot of peace for me. But from time to time, I still like to go through and de-clutter. And to me, clutter represents many things. You can have physical clutter, relationship clutter, emotional or mental clutter, even visual or auditory clutter. The list could go on. So for me, what it comes down to is deciding what does or does not add value to my life, and the rest has to go. So as we’re moving into spring, I wanted to talk a little today and on the next episode about how to create wellness in your life by de-cluttering. Focusing on Habits Over Outcomes- GVL029
I talk a lot about incorporating things into your life that allow you to create a life that you really enjoy and love, and I think that the choice to do that has a lot to do with habits. When you’re looking at goals or things you’d like to improve in your life, the habits you form are going to make the difference long-term. I personally have found that even when I’m looking at goals; it’s actually not the goal that’s as significant as the focus that I put on forming certain habits. So in this podcast episode, I wanted to talk a little bit about focusing on the habits over the outcomes. Maybe you are the person who struggles with being emotionally intimate with another person, or maybe you are the frustrated person because you are involved or have been involved with another person who seemed emotionally distant. Either way, I think it’s important to understand what this means and some of the reasons behind it, so that you can make some positive changes moving forward.
