Borders and boats in the night - Interview with Milly Pawson
This week we chat to Hannah's sister Milly about Europe's treatment of refugees and how this intersects with racist policies. Just a note (because we missed an important edit) - at one point, Milly mentions that white people would not receive the same violent treatment from police as people of colour do in the States, on Europe's borders and in other places. To clarify, we are aware that of course white people can and do experience this kind of treatment, for example white BLM protesters in the States - however, this kind of violence does not occur on anywhere near the scale at which people of colour experience police brutality across many countries; her point was drawing awareness to the general trends, rather than the outliers.
