Grandmaster Chess #001 - GM Timur Gareyev
In the first episode of GM Chess, I have my good friend Grandmaster Timur Gareyev on. Timur made grandmaster at 15 years old!! Has played in 4 different US Championships, and has won the North American Open, National Open, and Chicago Open. He has the world record for blindfold games, he played 48 people at the same time with his eyes closed, and recently he walked from Georgia all the way to Maine. I asked him a series of questions on how to improve, as well as a lightning round which was super fun. -How did you start playing chess? How did you go from 0-1400?How did you go from 1400-2200?How did you go from 2200-IM?How did you go from IM-GM?What happens after GM?Questions about openingsQuestions about chess in different countriesWhat are the things you do during tournaments? What has chess taught you about life?Blindfold chess-how/why?Tell us more about what you do for charityTell us about your trek through the Appellation trail
