Lone Survivor Foundation helped by allowing me to redirect my focus and realize that affecting others with my music was absolutely bigger than myself.” With an Americana/Roots sound that is a perfect fit for the diverse Texas Music scene, Sterling has played Texas Frog Fest 2016 and 2017 and has been singing his way through such notable Texas venues as Cheatham Street Warehouse, River Road Icehouse, Firehouse Saloon, O'brien's Irish Pub as well as a CD Release Show at Main Street Crossing. 2018 will prove to be a year where Sterling's music reaches coast to coast and beyond as he will be touring all over the continental United States as well as being slated to perform on the Texas Red Dirt Pub Crawl in Dublin, Ireland in November 2018. He gets deep about his time in the service, his injury, the transition that followed, which lead him to Medals of Honor and Valor bands.   You can check them out via the link below – https://valorbands.com/           Check out Medals of Honor and the impact they’re making. http://medalsofhonor.org/ don’t forget to hit up – Strikeforce Energy https://www.strikeforceenergy.com/ promo code - GY6 Grill Your Ass Off https://grillyourassoff.com/ promo code - GY6 Valor Bands is a veteran and military family owned for-profit social enterprise and fashion brand. They will train, recruit, and employ, veterans and their families, by providing job training in production/commercial sewing. The products are hand-crafted bracelets and wrist cuffs made from retired, donated military uniforms. They give Americans the opportunity to show their gratitude for military past and present by owning a piece of the service member’s history. Every band acts as a patriotic reminder that freedom isn’t free. Because of the textiles we use every band is unique, beautifully flawed and one-of-a-kind. More importantly, each one becomes a discussion piece allowing its owner to be the narrator of the donor's story ensuring that his/her service, sacrifice and life live on long after they retire their boots. One initiative that Amy & Joe are working towards is putting Americas heroes to work. They are working with organizations towards hiring veterans, homeless veterans, or those having trouble transitioning. The steps they’re taking are leading them towards being able to pay for the veteran's tuition to a Nashville based commercial sewing school; to provide them with a sewing machine of their own, so they can continue to hone their skills. The veteran is offered the flexibility of working for them on a contract base while seeking full-time employment with larger manufacturers. Valor Bands also wants to bridge a gap between civilian and veteran communities. We couldn’t be happier having them on the show to help support something that we also aspire to do.

The guys get a little deep into self-reflection, introspection, and how being around a negative environment can affect you. We get a nice little conspiracy from the big chief, about the dude who stole the commercial plane and did loop de loops with it. Get your tin foil hats on for his thoughts on it. Episode 63 - Militant Me! Ft. Chandler Russell
The guys are joined by Chandler Russell, the Marine behind Militant Me. We get to talk childhood musical influences, our first songs on guitar, and what are fathers’ reactions were to the music we wanted to play. Chandler’s father is a jazz musician and he shares some history behind that. Chandler is currently an active duty Marine, but he is still creating and writing music as often as he can. When Chandler first got out of the Marine Corp, he worked various jobs from Realty, to managing a Golds Gym, to owning a recording studio. But, the drive to be a part of the fight never left him. So, he reenlisted. We asked Chandler why he became a Marine and why he wanted to serve his country. His answer to that question was admirable and you’re just going to have to listen to listen to find out what was!   Militant Me currently has two tracks out right now, which you can find pretty much wherever music is streamed. Spotify, iTunes, Soundcloud, Pandora, Iheartradio, etc.… We get to hear the message of each song, the inspiration, and the story behind them. We agree that Metal (most metal) goes deeper than the surface of life, and Chandlers lyrics prove just that. For the track “Dogs of War” Shakespearean plays and his own personal experiences, mold more than just aggressive words over aggressive beats. They’re a real look into the issues we all go through with leadership and corrupt agendas. The struggle we face to stand up for ourselves and to say no. With the “Monster Is Me” it’s a great insight to how we our sometimes our own worst enemy. How we are sometimes holding our own selves back. We can’t thank Chandler enough for being a guest on the show and listen to the end! There’s a special treat for all you metal heads out there! Go support veterans creating some real cool shit, and get his music here - https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/dogs-of-war/1409982612?i=1409982623 Check out - http://grillyourassoff.com/discount/gy6 Hit up - https://www.strikeforceenergy.com/ - promo code - AFLBILLY8733
