I've been exposed and so have you!
So episode 2 has been in the books for awhile and I think this episode's subject matter does a great job of explaining where I've been. This Covid time period has exposed me and the systems I had in place surrounding me. The systems I had in place for food and nutrition, mindset, etc have all crumbled under the change of timing and lack of structure I've encountered during this period.I've blamed it on everything possible: my schedule is off, kids are all home, grad school is time consuming. You name it, I've blamed it. Bottom line that I've learned through this period is the importance of solid systems in place that exist to support you and become a part of your identity as opposed to there so fluff you up.Some guys I mention to check out on Instagram: @ryanmichler, @grimstrong_fitness, and the @peaceloveandmeat guys. See you on the Mountain. Episode 1
Today I introduce myself and the podcast journey that we are starting. My name is Ben and I love my comfort zone. I'm a guy that has stayed status quo as best I can throughout my life. I've missed out on opportunities because it would have required me to step out of that comfort zone I've entrenched myself in.I'm a firm believer in the idea that "how you do one thing is how you do everything" and that has been how I operate in my life: my health, my fitness, my professional life, my relationships and more. I've always been alright but never seemed to have found myself achieving what has been possible. Settling has been the safe place. This podcast was recorded on SpaceX's launch date. Definitely not a coincidence. On a day where other humans achieved an incredible feat, it felt like I could do something as simple as take that step. This podcast will document some of the areas in which I challenge the boundaries of my comfort zone as well as introduce you to others who have busted through theirs to achieve great things. The bottom goal of this is to help you maximize this one opportunity of life we have to do great things.
