Episode 28 - Seven Deadly Sins Volume 4: Envy
Today’s podcast topic is Part 4 of our Seven Deadly Sins Series which will discuss envy.  Often when you have greed, envy is also present.  When we are envious, we aren’t grateful for what God has blessed us with.  We’re more concerned with what someone else has or is and want that for ourselves.  Sometimes we’re so envious were willing to color outside the lines to get what we want.  We can’t enjoy what we have and will even start wishing ill against others if it benefits us.

Episode 27 - Seven Deadly Sins Volume 3: Greed
Today’s podcast topic is Part 3 of our Seven Deadly Sins Series, which will discuss “Greed”.  The behavior and mindset of always wanting more and never having enough.  We as humans have gotten more accustomed to having excess of everything.  We constantly want more money, power, or material things whether we need them or not.  Others, want more physical pleasure.  It’s not enough to have a wife or husband they got have multiple or a side guy or chick.  There are individuals out there that love control for the sake of telling others what they can and can’t do it.  Greed is a sin that slaps God in the face because the word said that if you chase him all things will come onto you.  He will supply all our needs.  Therefore, by having a greed mindset we are saying God is a liar because we are always desiring more.  Meaning we don’t believe God is meeting our needs or satisfying us.  Which also points out that we are focused on satisfying our internal and fleshly desires instead of devoting to following and pleasing God.  This sin seems to be related to gluttony and probably lust when you think of over consumption and sinfully desiring something.  Today, we will dive into this further with the help of the Bible.

Episode 26 - Seven Deadly Sins Volume 2: Sloth
Today’s podcast topic is Part 2 of our Seven Deadly Sins Series which will cover sloth.  As we have advance with technology things have gotten much easier for humanity in highly developed countries.  On the flip side, that has increased laziness and inaction.  People are so used to things being available instantly that they lack patience.  Folks don’t feel they need to put in hard work to earn things.  Dreams are being killed because people will spend hours a day binge watching a screen or searching social media with no real purpose.  People can’t find the 5-20 mins a day to perform a task, pray, or read the Bible. Yet, they can stay up past their bedtime scrolling on their phone or doing some other worthless tasks.  We have gotten comfortable with inaction and are making the devil’s job easier.  While souls are being lost and work needs to be done, we are sitting around looking at screen or laying around.  Or maybe we are active and super outgoing…for the world but neglect to use any of that energy or ambition for God’s kingdom.  That kind of behavior sloth hiding in sheep’s clothing.

Episode 25 - Seven Deadly Sins Volume 1: Gluttony
Today’s podcast topic is Part 1 of the Seven Deadly Sins Series which will start with Gluttony.  Gluttony has at least 2 of the 3 main temptation principles in it.  Maybe all three.  We often consume things we shouldn’t or overconsume based on the lust of the eye.  The food or drink looks appealing, and we can’t imagine life without partaking.  Secondly, we often assume that if the food or drink looks appetizing that it taste just as good.  Focusing on the satisfaction of the food or drink as justification of consumption is lust of the flesh.  You can argue that it also has the third temptation element because we have the belief that consuming the food or drink will fulfill what’s missing in us.  It’s going to satisfy our needs in a way that God can’t.  We essentially, think we can take care of a false need ourselves without God’s help.  Constantly, chasing our tail because if the food or drink tastes as good as it looks it only is temporary.  Therefore, whatever emptiness or problems we are trying to mask returns and we go looking for some satisfaction again.

Episode 24 - Ministry without Action is Nothing
Today’s podcast topic is “Ministry without Action is Nothing”.  So, last episode we talked about Christians that talk and act holy but are hollow inside.  Essentially, people putting on performance for the public to see without trying to know Jesus.  Well, now we will focus on folks that have ministries but have coverage gaps.  Whether its folks with mega churches that don’t yield their space to people without shelter during massive floods or believers’ holder anti-abortion signs while a single mother a block from their protest is struggling and holding up homeless sign, we got problems.  Or maybe we have prayer websites and apps yet don’t pray on regular basis for others.  Our ministries are limited if we don’t impact people when they really need our assistance.  Everyone is worthy of help regardless of race, politics, sexual orientation, profession, class status, and anything else we use to grade someone’s value up or down.

Episode 23 - Get Saved or Die Lyin
Today’s podcast topic is topic is “Get Saved or Die Lyin”.  Let’s face it, many of us front like we are saved and are living for God, and we aren’t.  Behind closed doors we are just as sinful as the folks we judge and call ourselves better than.  We do good things for the crowd, say the right things to the pastor, are a savior at work, but our soul is rotten.  We walk around like we have time to play in multiple fields and on multiple teams.  Maybe we are proud, could careless, don’t think the antichrist is here yet, or are just plain ignorant.  However, no breathes we take and seconds we live are promised and nor can we control them.  Will we continue to live with hollow gestures that don’t match our souls, or will we truly believe in Christ?

Episode 22 - Belief
Today’s podcast topic is “Belief”.  A lot of times in life, a portion of the difference between who’s successful and who fails comes down to belief.  The same rings true for who goes to heaven versus hell.  You believe God sent Jesus to die for our sins in your heart and you fill convicted to ask for forgiveness then have a spot in heaven.  You refuse to believe Jesus is who the bible says he was, and you go to hell.  If you believe you won’t do well on a job, on a date, or on a field then your chance of failure increases because you see yourself failing more than succeeding.  Anything you do you must first imagine.  Your body doesn’t know whether the image in your mind happened in real life or not.  Our inability to believe in others, ourselves, and God impacts our lives more than we realize.  In fact, sometimes our arrogant belief in our own talent and skill over God gets us in trouble and disappointed.

Episode 21 - Rebirth
Today’s podcast topic is “Rebirth”.  The concept of rebirth gets thrown around a lot.  You got your born-again Christians, sinners like you and me that decide to give their lives to Christ.  You also have born again sinners, folks that want to embrace sin whether is womanizing, being a gang member, in an organization, changed gender and many other things.  The truth in rebirth is that you are truly still the same person you’ve just opened your eyes and changed your ways for the good or bad.  Let’s see what the word of God has to say about the topic of rebirth.

Episode 20 - Obedience
Today’s podcast topic is “Obedience”.  Not succumbing to sin is obedience to God.  Living as the Bible tells us, following commandments, or even executing God’s will for us is obedience as well.  Picture having a straight line in front of you and the beginning represents your life.  Imagine there being various exits or turns you could take to divert off the straight line.  When we sin and or disobey God, we are taking random exits and turns that are straight.  Just like when driving, if you don’t follow direction and get off an exit too early or make one turn that’s incorrect it matters.  Sometimes a turn can guarantee you never get to a preferred destination.  Other times you must change your route completely or turn around to try to catch back up to where you were supposed to be.  The problem is we operate across time sometimes showing up to something late isn’t acceptable and someone else has grabbed the opportunity.  Other times doing what we want leads us to never get to where God intended.  There’s so many blessings and gifts that God has for us that we will never receive because we didn’t have the guts to follow his instructions.  Today, we will review what happens in situations in the Bible when Obedience was on the menu.

Episode 19 - Empathy
Today’s podcast topic is “Empathy”.  As humans we do a pretty good job thinking of ourselves first.  We have things like social media that are built on the image we create for the world whether its real or not.  We throw hashtags left and right like haymakers anytime a tragedy happens without actually praying for the victims and or taking meaningful action.  The way others are treated as often based on how much value they can bring to something we care about.  Folks can’t wait for someone to make it big so that they can search their social media and pasts for things they’ve stated when they were less mature that will cause harm to their success and image.  We are swift and happy to cancel someone and to say hateful things to people we disagree with and or that are different than us.  However, when it comes empathy and mercy, we except God to understand our mistakes.  We expect others to give us breaks and the benefit of the doubt even when we don’t deserve it.  Yet, we don’t consistently provide empathy to others and try to consider things from their point of view.  Today we touch on empathy was applied in the bible.

Episode 18 - Loneliness
Today’s podcast topic is “Loneliness”.  Focusing on God can dead you to the world and make you feel lonely in relation to other humans on earth.  Reason being that most people aren’t living the same Christ centered life.  If you are going to focus on God, you have to lean on him.  If can be supposedly boring and a thankless task.  Remember that when the world is lonely, they have an unquenchable thirst that’s never satisfied.  If we stop caring about the world’s standards for happiness God can sustain us.  He is enough.

Episode 17 - Adultery
Today’s podcast topic is “Adultery”.  It seems to be the cool thing to participate in nowadays.  People both male and female seem to accept it’s just part of being in a marriage.  When the world had better morals, people used to frown upon committing adultery.  Now things like apps, internet, social media, and dating sites have created new avenues for people to be tempted.  More times than not people partake.  We will dig into what the bible says about adultery.

Episode 16 - Demigods
Today’s podcast topic is “Demigods”.  In a time where everyone is quick to seek attention, we must not fall prey to treating others like gods.  Whether it’s our favorite athletes, celebrities, politicians, everyday acquaintances, or family members we shouldn’t be putting anything or anyone above the one and true God.  We spend our time and our funds on everything but the word and then are disappointed when the world lets us down.  We sometimes give everything we got to a job, sacrifice everything for another person, and cheer endlessly for a team without any real returns.  Here’s to one God over demigods we’re all guilty of entertaining at times.

Episode 15 - Wicked Tongue
Today’s podcast topic is next topic is “Wicked Tongue”.  Wicked tongue is someone that speaks sharp without fear or repercussions.  We act like the things we type and say don’t have any lasting effects on ourselves and others but in reality they do.  Nothing that we type, say, and or write to someone can be undone.  For us to say or do something we have to first think it.  Therefore, when we communicate something to others it means we’ve at least processed the possible consequence of our actions.  That is why communicating without a filter is concerning.

Episode 14 - Doubt
Today’s podcast topic is next topic is “Doubt”.  Part of the struggle of being a human is managing self-doubt in our lives.  We don’t know the answer to everything and have ability to do all things.  We consistently look to ourselves or others to decide whether we can pull out of us what is required to overcome a challenge.  However, how often are we placing God in that equation?  How much of the stress and challenges in our lives could be relieved if we look to the word of God for answers?

Episode 12 - Wannabe Like Jesus
Today’s prayer topic is “Wannabe Like Jesus”.  With Jesus being the only person to walk earth without sinning he’s a great example of how to conduct ourselves.  Therefore, we should try to live our lives the way Jesus did.  Instead of finding excuses to sin we should resist temptation.  We need to be the example all the time like Christ not just at church or at work.  We need to stop being multifaced people.

Episode 11 - Forgiveness
Today’s podcast topic is “Forgiveness”.  We can’t fully execute God’s love and will if we hold onto grudges or actions that others have taken against us.  Whether is physical, verbal, mental, emotional, financial, professional, social harm and list goes on we can’t stand still in the past moment.  The reality is, most times the person that has wronged us has moved on while we our imprisoned and slave to what they’ve done to us.  We need to forgive others because it’s the right thing to do.  Not just so God can forgive us.  If God can forgive us for our intentional sins and choices, we make daily we have no merit to believe that our feelings hold priority over his.

Episode 10 - Blind Spots
Today’s podcast topic is Blind spots.  Everyone has areas in their lives, people, or things that exist that are creating separation from God.  Separation meaning, they are stopping us from being our best self in Christ.  Things that encourage us to backslide or act in ways that we know God wouldn’t be proud of.  Some of these we may not even be aware of because they are so entrenched in our daily lives.  We will tackle this today.
