Marvel Vs. DC Movie Mash-Up part 23: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice/A 2+ Hour Defence: You're All Wrong And Ungrateful
So. Here it is. The big one. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Broadcaster and film critic RJ Bayley and screen writer Niall 'before Zod' Heseltine give a suitably epic examination of the year's biggest film. We delve into the fractured psychology of the caped crusader, why spectacle doesn't come second to other aspects of movies, what makes one more compelling than the other, and how Zack Snyder is actually changing the language of cinema. This podcast is choc full of spoilers from the start, but if you're listening to this kind of podcast you've probably already seen the film haven't you? Especially the kind of podcast that's this long. Marvel Vs. DC Movie Mash-Up part 21: Captain America: The Winter Soldier/Didn't They Do The Same Thing With The Atomic Bomb In WW2?
Every single person's response to the situation around them in this poster is confusing. The start of this podcast sounds amazing because it was recorded on a brand new very expensive mic. I neglected, however, to check how full the memory card was, so the latter half sounds dreadful due to it being the backup recorded on Niall's phone. But hey, a backup is better than nothing, right?Stick with us though as we get into some pretty meaty philosophical and moral questions that the film poses and we're both pretty damn pleased with the quality of discourse in this one, if not the sound. Enjoy. Marvel Vs. DC Movie Mash-Up part 20: Thor: The Dark World/ Should've Got With Kat Dennings
Broadcaster and journalist RJ Bayley and Niall Heseltine are back to discuss the sequel to Thor. Can it hold up against the original's fish out of water comedy? Does Christopher Ecclestone deliver anywhere near a decent villain? What exactly is the "ether"? Find out in this episode of the Marvel Vs. DC Movie Mash-Up podcast. Marvel Vs. DC Movie Mash-Up part 19: Man of Steel/ It's Better Than You Remember
Broadcaster and film critic RJ Bayley and writer Niall 'before Zod' Heseltine return to tell you all about how Man of Steel doesn't deserve the bad rep it's been blasted with. Is a film that's all flashy violence such a bad thing when the flashy violence is so good? Do they put Superman in such a position where the controversial final act is the only reasonable course of action? Find out in this podcast, which does not contain a ten minute kazoo intro. Download the Man of Steel podcast on iTunes Stream the Man of Steel podcast on Stitcher Follow @RJBayley and @NiallHeseltine on Twitter, tell them how rubbish Man of Steel really is. Marvel Vs. DC Movie Mash-Up part 18: Iron Man 3/Ten Minutes of Kazoo
We're back! Sorry for the increasing delay between episodes. I've been asked to do 3 hours instead of 2 for the RJ Bayley Rock Show on 98.8 Castle FM in Edinburgh (7 - 10PM, listen online here) as well as preparing to do a live music night. That'll be Monthly Metal, every month some live metal, broadcast on 98.8 Castle FM, at the Banshee Labyrinth in Edinburgh, or, if you're American, Edinborrow. Next one is 29th of Feb folks, come along, say hello, don't bellow obscenities down the microphone every two minutes making the audio unusable for broadcast. On the note of music, ("note"!) there's 10 minutes of our kazoo version of the Iron Man song by Black Sabbath at the start of this podcast. I said I'd loop it for 10 minutes at the start, so I did. Don't skip it. That's art. Thanks for sticking with us. Download the Iron Man 3 podcast on iTunes Stream the Iron Man 3 podcast on Stitcher Follow @RJBayley and @NiallHeseltine on Twitter, they are desperate for your approval. Buy the Iron Man collection through our Amazon Affiliate link, we get a commission, you pay no extra and you've supported 10 minutes of the Iron Man riff on a kazoo.

Marvel Vs. DC Movie Mash-Up part 17: The Dark Knight Rises / Feeling Sorry For Superman Fans
It's time for the big one, for me anyway. You'll hear why in the podcast itself. If that's not enticing enough (which it probably isn't, to be fair), then tune in to hear writer Niall 'before Zod' Heseltine and myself, radio presenter RJ Bayley: Amaze ourselves with the noises my shiney new microphone picks up. Me inadvertently almost-damaging the ceiling of Niall's new home mid recording. Reasons why this version of Bane is every bit the villain Ledger's Joker is. Moments and references in to film to the comics. How much we pity Superman fans. Why the term 'universe' is over used. What the hell has gone wrong with the Terminator franchise.  Follow @RJBayley and @NiallHeseltine on Twitter. Please.

FILM CORPS: Into the Heart of the Cinepocalypse 2015
Like a grizzled old hero who's one day away from retirement and too old for this shit, FILM CORPS returns!By far our most popular FILM CORPS was Cinepocalypse 2015 and now we're knee deep in the muddy trenches of the very event we felt it time to pick up our film guns once more. Not even now being in different countries can stop the return of the FILM CORPS in this time of need, so we take aim at the multiplex and assess the cinematic scene as we see it. Along the way we discuss the inflexibility of Superman fans, Marvel letting us see our Christmas presents early, the meaning of the Jurassic Park movies and more. So pick up your balls and load up your cannons for a 2015  summer film salute. *This podcast was recorded before either of us saw Mad Max: Fury Road or Jurassic World. Marvel Vs. DC Movie Mash-Up part 15: Captain America: The First Avenger/Paint Bombs
Film critic/radio host RJ Bayley and film writer Niall 'Before Zod' Heseltine return for an in-depth review of Steve Rogers first film in the Marvel Screen Universe (formerly the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that didn't account for the TV shows, DID IT??).Where did the spangly man in Avengers: Age of Ultron get his start? With quite a lot of ease, actually. Up for discusson are Captain America's particularly intricate clothing instructions, Red Skull's employment choices of soldiers and architects, Hellraising Hollywood drinkers and Once Direction losing their member.   Follow @RJBayley and @NiallHeseltine on Twitter. Marvel Vs. DC Movie Mash-Up part 14: Iron Man 2
RJ Bayley and Niall 'before Zod' Heseltine are joined once more by their regular-but-not-regular-enough-to-be-in-the-intro cohort Jon Seymour to discuss Iron Man 2.Is Stark's second outing unfairly maligned as an inferior superhero flick. What do people in the know call the Marvel Cinematic Universe these day? What is RJB willing to do to show his admiration for RDJ? Marvel Vs. DC Movie Mash-Up part 13: The Dark Knight\Trans-textual Underface
This is the big one. It's been a while coming but here we are. The Marvel Vs. DC Movie Mash-Up arrives at arguably the most iconic Batman movie of them all, Chris Nolan's epic The Dark Knight. Batfan Jon Seymour once again joins ever present hosts Niall 'before Zod' Heseltine and myself, RJ Bayley, for a very long, very nerdy, very passionate chat about the second installment of the Dark Knight Trilogy. We cover the what was, what is, what may be and what might have been of this truly seminal superhero saga. This is fully indulgent Bat fandom, so tuck in. Follow @RJBayley, @NiallHeseltine

Guardians of the Galaxy review – podcast
Unlike the previous one-off review of Devil's Knot, there's been almost no hype or promotion of the small movie based on the blockbuster, well known comic book Guardians of the Galaxy. So, in an effort to shed a spotlight on the little known films that don't get much oxygen of publicity, Niall 'Before Zod' Heseltine, the currently mute Jon Seymour, and myself have sought out this little flick and offer our opinions on it. Marvel Vs. DC Movie Mash-Up part 12: The Incredible Hulk/The Unstoppable Belch
Niall "before Zod" Heseltine and RJ Bayley take an unsteady step into the second Marvel Screen Universe outing, The Incredible Hulk. We discuss Marvel's early unease at distancing themselves from the Ang Lee film Hulk, who is the most handsome of men, and I drink so many fizzy drinks I set a podcast record for belching and feel very sick by the end. So if you're playing the now omnipresent Goats In The Machine Gaseous Expulsion Drinking Game then boy are you going to be wasted by the end of this show! Marvel Vs. DC Movie Mash-Up part 11: Iron Man
A mere 10 films in and we finally made it. We've finally arrived at the first film in what known back then as a Marvel Cinematic Universe (now better described as the Marvel Screen Universe). In this episode we remind ourselves of just how good the original really was, and I come up with a super-theory of just why Tony Stark is so bleeding intelligent. Devil's Knot review: Satanic Panic (with special guest Bill Lawrence of All of Whine and Space) – podcast
As if one collaboration with a pod-powerhouse at All of Whine and Space wasn't enough, here comes the follow-up! This time we're joined by the other half of the Podfathers and we're looking at a film altogether more subdued than the last one. Indeed Devil's Knot may slip into and out of cinemas without you even realising it. It may, however, be right up your ally. Is Devil's Knot worth seeking out? Louise Boyd and I discuss this and the wider implications of the death penalty and our feelings towards it (inevitable really) with the man simply known as Bill.  Only his warmth, wit and political knowledge could lead to a podcast with the cinematic and moral quality as this. Sit back, relax, and take a trip down south with us to Devil's Knot.

Marvel Vs. DC Movie Mash-Up part 10.5: Daredevil (w/ special guest Louise Boyd AKA Loyd)
WHAT?! WHOOOOAH, WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?? This wasn't on the list? Was it? Was it?? No. It wasn't. But when the list was made we didn't know that Daredevil, the man without fear, would be joining his other superhero chums in the Marvel Screen Universe (I'm going to start using this term now due to all the TV projects).  However, now it's been formally announced that Matt Murdock will return in a Netflix series, so we thought it only appropriate to spin back to 2003 to look at Hornhead when the idea of a shared screen universe was only the fevered dreams of fanboys everywhere.   So how does Daredevil stack up over the a decade down the line? Listen to the latest Marvel Vs. DC Movie Mash-Up  to find out. Download the Daredevil podcast on iTunes
