I had a great time learning about film editing in Hollywood from Sven Pape. He's worked with George Lucas, James Franco, and Mark Webber along with a bunch of work on TV shows including American Idol. The guy is brilliant, and knows how to edit videos for YouTube as well (haha, check out his YouTube channel called This Guy Edits. It's amazing!) I learned how he went from film student to Hollywood film editor, how to choose between the head and the heart when making creative decisions, and how he grew a YouTube channel to 100's of 1,000's of subscribers. It was great to get to learn from Sven; I hope you enjoy it!

Racism is still occurring in our country, so does police brutality, and both need to stop, My thoughts on racism, the murder of George Floyd, the protests and riots, and the situation in our country in general.

My conversation with woodworker Kevin Kennard Richards was super informative, and the man knows his cutting tools. Watch out! Here, he taught me how to: -Wield a chainsaw -Overcome the fear of being a poser when learning something new -Grow an Instagram audience and get 500,000 views on a video -Balance time between family and projects Kevin has learned how to do all of this without going the traditional route, which may really jar some people. I learned a TON during my conversation with the virtual bartending badass Rachael Green. She has risen to the difficult occasion of becoming a virtual trainer, and has learned all the skills to pull that off. She dropped the knowledge about: -How bartenders make more money than the bar owner(?!) -How to deal with uncomfortable work environments and disrespectful jerk bosses -How to find virtual bartending gigs online and get $$$ right now -How to jazz up company happy hours -And she even taught me how to make a surprise cocktail at the end... Rachael has adapted, and if that grinds your gears, then you better go tell your ma.

Jason Sanders is the kind of person who can teach himself to do just about anything. Over the years, Steven has developed a strong following with a loyal fan base thanks in part to his razor sharp food reviews, and fantastic assessments of the food and beverage industry as a whole. In this episode, we get into learning about the current state of marketing in the food and drink business. Steven sheds some light on what true resilience looks like as well. The man has a fantastic story, and I have learned a ton from him. Steven has bucked the system, and leveled up thanks to learning all sorts of wild things. Welcome to the show! This first episode is a bit on the boring side. It’s me explaining what the show is all about, why I think it’s important, and what you can get out of it. No guest on this one! TLDR: We have so much access to free information and online learning resources that for most people, the traditional higher education route is no longer necessary. It’s expensive, you don’t have much control over what you learn, and it often leads to getting lame jobs that we don’t like. My solution for this problem is to learn new skills through online education, and apply those skills towards getting an enjoyable job, starting a business, or mastering a new hobby. Many people are uncomfortable with the idea of their friends and colleagues improving their lives and leveling up through non-traditional education. They may make fun of you or think you are crazy for trying to learn new things and better your life. They’re just jealous and insecure about trying new things for their own lives. Screw ‘em! I interview people who have learned new skills in various ways which has led them to enjoyable lives. Buck the system! If it upsets you, go tell your mom!
