We continue our top 10 movies of 2016 with our number 5-1 picks. Mike, Jairo and JD give us a really hard time for our picks but we take it like men. Look for our next couple episodes where we cover Kong: Skull Island, Beauty and the Beast and interview the cinematographer of Logan, John Mathieson.

On this episode we look at our top 10 movies of 2016 (10-6). Since we usually disagree on movies Mason and I brought in three guests to judge our choices. Jairo from the True Bromance Film Podcast, Mike from the War Machine vs War Horse Podcast and JD from In Session Film. It's a beer fueled episode so if you don't like hearing alcoholic levels of ridiculousness listen anyways because it's hilarious. Part 2 can be found here.

On this first episode of our new segment "In Conversation" we talk with Academy Award nominated screenwriter Hossein Amini who among many films has written the screenplays for Jude, The Wings of the Dove, Drive, Our Kind of Traitor as well as directing and writing The Two Faces of January. We talk about his eventful career including how he got his start in film. We also discuss his work on Drive and his upcoming projects The Alienist, McMafia and the upcoming Universal film Hiroshima. 

This episode we talk about the grittiest comic book movie ever Logan. Along for the ride is Justin from Epic Film Guys who has a deep love of Hugh Jackman's interpretation of The Wolverine. The episode is a lot like the movie it is covering, hilarious at the start and a little heartbreaking at the end. We do discuss spoilers near the end but we give plenty of notice so enjoy and maybe go watch the movie again (or for the first time).

Before we show you our awesome episode detailing our top 10 movies of 2016, we give you our thoughts on the Oscars coming later today and give you our choices for the movies that will take home gold tonight. What better way to prepare for the Oscars than listen to your favourite American/Canadian duo arguing over who's more wrong. 

Mason and Daniel are back to talk about the first film they've ever seen together as they were both in New York City to see each other. And that movie is John Wick: Chapter Two! It's a crazy action film that we quite surprisingly agreed upon. This week it's just the two of us but in our next few episodes we'll be talking about the Oscars and we have three amazing guests coming on to judge our picks for Top 10 Movies of 2016. Stay tuned!

It's only fitting that our longest episode coincides with the longest movie we have watched so far this year. Silence is the latest from filmmaking genius Martin Scorsese and we dive deep into its themes with the help of Brendan Cassidy of the In Session Film Podcast. This movie warrants a great discussion on bias in film and also the role of religion in not just Silence but other movies as well. Next episode we'll be looking at John Wick: Chapter 2 so make sure to tune into that and leave us a review on iTunes, Google Play and Stitcher if you liked what you heard.

We cover children, loss and comedy, all things that feature in our latest review, Manchester by the Sea. This time Mason and I are not alone as we have esteemed guest Michael Denniston from War Machine vs War Horse who brings his movie expertise to help Mason and I see who's right. It's without a doubt one of the funniest episodes you'll have the pleasure of listening to and confirms that tragedy and comedy do indeed go perfectly together. Next episode is Silence!

Better late than never, here is our review of Rogue One. During the first half of the show we discuss the movie with no spoilers and dissect many of the characters and the different things that worked and didn't work for us. In the second half we discuss the scenes that stood out and go deep into the spoiler filled Easter eggs.
