Star Wars. There are few, if any , franchises with a more dedicated fan base. And yet it is a fan base that has been bitterly fractured thanks to countless re-edits to the original trilogy and a prequel trilogy that was not what many fans had expected.   Today Jake and I will discuss why so many fans born at least ten years before Phantom Menace was released dislike the Special Editions of the original trilogy as well as the prequels. Star Wars Episode VII is less than 100 days from being released. Let's just let that sink in for a moment. Saying that the Brothers Dietz are excited for this movie would be an understatement of elephantine proportions. To celebrate/try to make the wait seem a little more bearable, they will be discussing what they want from the JJ Abrams-helmed film. In addition to that, they will also be covering all the Disney news from the D23 expo including the announcement of the Star Wars themed expansions that are coming to Disneyworld and Disneyland in the near future. Leonard has held back from watching Doctor Who, a BBC non-fictional, historical drama, for years. Until now.   Today the Brothers Dietz delve into a universe filled with sonic screwdrivers, Daleks and gas mask zombies. Along the way they will discuss what has made the series so successful for its more than fifty-year history. What kind of self-respecting geek podcast would we be if we did not devote an entire episode to the San Diego Comic Con? A bad one. A very, very bad one.    That’s why, after a short hiatus, the Brothers Dietz have returned to podcast about the world’s biggest gathering of geeks.    We will be discussing all of the big DC news including the new trailers for Batman v Superman: Dawn of the Justice and the Suicide Squad.    In addition to the DC Cinematic Universe’s big news we will also be delving into the news JJ Abrams revealed about a galaxy far, far away in a behind-the-scenes video he showed regarding Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.   We will also talk about Marvel Studios. It is the happiest place on earth and as of July 17th, 2015 it has been open for 60 years. Today we talk about the intriguing history behind the park, including where and when Walt Disney got the inspiration for the park as well as its disastrous opening day.    In addition to the history of the park, we will discuss some of our favorite memories at the original Magic Kingdom, as well as our favorite attractions.
