Hi all!   I’m getting ready to head out the door to drive down to SDCC 2015 for preview night, so I don’t have time to write a lot of clever stuff here. Aaaaand we’re BACK!   It’s been a few weeks, but there was a “secret” episode in the meantime in form of my Wondercon panel that Jason was a panelist. (I should have that up on the ActionFigureInsiderTV  YouTube channel soon).  Jason and I also got to hang out a bit at Star Wars Celebration, so while we might not have been recording we were still talking all things geek. Since you have all be so patient awaiting our return we are giving you a super jumbo deluxe episode!   There was SO much great geek stuff to discuss in our absence that this episode is a whopping TWO AND A HALF HOURS long!   So make sure you pace yourself and have a good stretch before you start listening so you don’t hurt yourself. Oh man!  Another gap between episodes?   Yes.  Yes it’s true.  Both Jason and I have been traveling a bit this Spring so our schedules have been a little wonky.  I just got back from Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle and Jason ran off to the Twin Cites for a bit, so we were literally running in opposite directions!  But don’t worry, we will be reunited this Easter weekend as he is a guest on a panel that I’m moderating this Friday at WonderCon in Anaheim! We can hardly believe that it’s been 3 years since we first launched the Geek Shall Inherit podcast, but the numbers… and dates don’t lie.  It was 3 years ago THIS WEEK that we launched the Geek Shall Inherit podcast with episode one, and we have been talking pop culture ever since! True to form, even expanding this episode to two hours, we STILL don’t get to every topic that we wanted to cover in this episode!  But we do squeeze in a LOT in these 120 minutes. Sorry this episode is a little later than expected.  I’ve been a bit busy trying to rally 40,000 collectors to make their voice heard by Toys R Us over this Breaking Dad toy controversy.    It’s taken up a lot of my week, but it’s been well worth it as we have quadruple the signatures that the FloridaMom got on her “outrage” petition.   I’m SURE will will talk about this next episode as Jason knows a thing or two about “outraged” moms getting figures pulled out of Toys R Us. Next weekend is the big Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo here in Los Angeles.   I was supposed to go and cover it for AFi, but instead I’m traveling back home for my grandfather’s 90th birthday celebration.   This will be the first year that I will miss Comikaze, but hey, a man only turns 90 once!   So if you are going, have fun and tell me all about it.  I’ll be there in spirit. And finally, I just want to put this out there before you listen to the episode so you aren’t disappointed as you listen.  If you are looking for the new wave of Star Wars Black figures that have been hitting stores… then keep looking everywhere and every where.  Waste your time and gas.   Jason has found them, but he won’t tell you where.  So… I guess good luck with that.   In this episode we discuss: Daniel is really digging the new Serial podcast from the “This American Life” team. We are NOT at New York Comic Con this weekend… but we wish we were.   At least I THINK we wish we were.  There was a report published on Thursday that NYCC had surpassed SDCC in attendance.  And not just by a little, by something like 20,000 people!    They say there are roughly 130,000 + people allowed in the  San Diego Convention center each year for SDCC now.   NYCC at the Javits is said to have 150,000+ and from the reports I’m reading today… it’s still fun.   It’s not the beating that SDCC has become.  The Javits Center has a very different layout than SDCC and they don’t have all of Hollywood right up the road ready to caravan every possible genre project to the show, so maybe they have found the best of both worlds in the Big Apple.   It will be interesting to see the changes in both shows over the next 2-3 years.   We have lots of coverage and pictures of the con, so many it will feel like you are there, right here over on AFi.   This week we discuss: The most recent Doctor Who Indiana Jones 5 might be closer than we think Iron Man 4 coming… we think?
