Detra Trueheart uses her more than twenty-five combined years of pageantry, performing arts, leadership, empowerment, and personal development expertise to become the ‘go to’ girl for life purpose, faith, and women & girls’ empowerment. Believing in the power of healthy competition and presenting your BEST self during the pursuit of any goal, Detra M. Trueheart, founded the Young Miss Buffalo Pageant: Scholarship and Enrichment Program, Inc. (YMBP, Inc.) in 1999 for girls 13-17 years of age.
YMBP, Inc. is a 16-week enrichment & leadership program created to combat the everyday challenges that girls face. YMBP teaches girls that they are enough in every facet of their being. Celebrating 18 years of helping women become their BEST this year, YMBP has served more than 200+ girls since the organization’s inceptions in 2000.
Detra is a married, mother of one and is the author of 30 Days of Thanks: 30 Days of Cultivating an Attitude of Gratitude book & devotional journal.
