WANT and NEED, the keys to course success! Discover the right balance and unlock your online growth
Finding the right balance between giving your students content they really want to learn and things they need to know can be tricky. Most students want to rush ahead to the fun stuff, often at the expense of the vital fundamentals. If this sounds like your students you’re not alone. Learning a new instrument, coding language, or art technique is tough and it can be tempting for students to either give up or focus solely on things they can do and that means their progress halts. But our latest podcast guest, David A Jones has found a way to combine the wants and needs of his students seamlessly into a single lesson. This has led to happier students who love what David teaches. He explains his methods and practices in this podcast. In the show we cover: David’s approach to creating online content and what he’s doing differently to 90% of the course creators out there. He shares with us the lessons he decides to commit to video and what he leaves out for in-person learning and why. And David stresses the importance of finding the right audience for your products and why they might not be who you think they are. Access our free training here: https://passion.io/scale ****David A Jones Guest Profile**** David is the co-founder of Presto music School, he has been teaching music for over 20 years and Presto is one of the UK's leading music schools. David never really considered going online until he came across Passion.io. He’s now supplementing his in-person learning with a PassionApp and using the platform to attract new leads to his business.

The power of saying NO. How to reject clients that are bad for your business
Running a business is all about getting more clients right? More customers mean more money. More money equals more success, right? Not always, it's far better to cherry-pick your clients and only serve customers who fit really well with your brand, program, or ethos. Ill-fitting, nightmare clients will drain your entry, time, and ultimately cost you money. You don't need that headache, it's far better to politely direct them somewhere else. But how can you spot a NO prospect? What do you say to them to let them down gently? Should you ever take on a difficult client against your better judgment? Helping us answer these questions is podcast guest, Kirsten Haglund. Guest Profile Kirsten is a Canada-based fitness professional who has built the PassionApp, Push Fitness. Don't waste your hard earned money on paid ads - How to maximise you organic reach
Promoting a product isn’t easy? And sometimes it feels like you need to pay a lot of money to get your services in front of the right people on social media. Many people forget to use their organic following to maximize their social reach when selling online. Using your network of friends, followers, & peers can really boost the number of eyes that see what you’re selling. It can be scary asking people to share your stuff but overcoming that doubt is the key to reaching as many people as possible with your offer. Chanté Sandiford had the same doubts but she overcame them and leveraged her organic following to secure sales for her app. This podcast dives into the strategies she used as well as talking about the sales process and launching a new business product. Iterative design - adapting your product roadmap based on user data
In the 21st century, iterative design is the name of the game. Long gone are the days of traditional product development, where teams would have a product idea, build it, and then put it out into the world in the hopes it would sell. Product teams now build and adapt their plans based on user data, feedback, and recommendations. This means the development cycle for a product today is a series of little feedback loops. Each loop adds value, features, and removes errors to a constantly evolving product. We use this style of development at Passion.io and we encourage our experts to do the same. We like to use a pancake as an example. When you’re making pancakes the first one you flip is always a bit dodgy. It might not flip properly or get a bit burned, but that is ok, because you’ll improve your pancake making process for the second pancake. The same principle applies to building anything. Get a working product, get feedback and data, then use that to improve it! It’s what PassionFighter Keith Kern did with his second cohort of clients. After successfully taking his first group of students through their 6-week challenge he used the data and feedback he gathered from that process to improve his product moving forward. Signup for our free training here: https://passion.io/scale Guest Profile Keith Kern is a California based PassionFighter who has built the app, Build Your Power (BYP). On camera = cold sweats? How to ooze charisma when being filmed
Just act natural How many times have you heard those words when you're being filmed. Camera’s make a lot of people nervous, having a bright light jammed in your face and a cold lens staring at you can throw off even the seasoned pros. But once you overcome these nerves you can turn the hard stare of the camera to your advantage and become a charismatic powerhouse who’s able to sell anything on screen, communicate difficult concepts simply, and present your offers with an easy confidence. All of which equates to greater peace of mind when you see a video sales letter recording session in your diary and adds more dollars to your bank balance. Confidence on camera isn’t a dark art. Our podcast guest Waymatea Ellis shared her tips for crafting a positive, strong persona in front of the camera in this show. Guest Profile Waymatea Ellis is a PassionFighter and mother who has developed the app Joyful Being. Her goal is to help moms get a better understanding of what they want from life, and be intentional with the steps they are taking to get there with Connection, Peace, and Positive Energy.
