The Secret Weapon of High Performance Achievers — 2018 Tip #2
How many times have you heard someone say, "It's not personal. It's just business"? 2018 has the potential to be a magical year for more businesses than ever -- and for more individuals than ever. Gone is the time when it was enough to simply show up at an office and put in your time. The lines between our business lives and our personal lives are blurring now more than ever. Today we have the opportunity to finally be heard. Consumers are losing interest in the "quality, service and integrity" style pitches. More and more, the consuming public wants to know about the individuals behind the machinery. They are not just interested in what a company is doing "for me". They want to know how a company plans to impact the world. And the secret of being a voice to be reckoned with? The secret is to "own the magic"-- to embrace the understanding that with an impactful, deliberate mindset, "the Sky is the Limit". Let 2018 be the time when you risk living on the leading edge. Let it be the year when you risk working diligently on creating a mind that aligns with your vision, rather than dodging a mind that is constantly getting in your way. As Henry Ford once said, "If you think you can or you think you can't, you're right." To ignore the potential power of our own mind has become a naivety that no longer serves us. It’s time to explore our definition of what’s possible and to ask ourselves if we are allowing our minds to convince us that our round world is flat. In this Hint #2 podcast episode, I explore how we can "own the magic. How if we wish to fully engage in 2018, it's time to own that the possibility for creating the "impossible" is within us. That four letter word that seemed so formidable is simply your own amazing, imaginative and untapped MIND. To Your Success, Meridith Alexander

You will truly be happier this holiday season if you do this!
It's official! Time Magazine has reported that a new study coming out of the University of Zurich Switzerland found that being generous truly makes human beings happier! So what really is generosity? Does generosity have to do exclusively with money? To live generously.... Doesn't that word have two meanings? Yes, generous can mean that you love to do things that contribute to others. And yet, the word "generous" can also mean "full". Doesn't it then follow that a full filled/ fulfilling (generous) life goes hand in hand with generosity? In this podcast, I explore the concept of generosity and of giving ourselves "the gift" of living "full filling" lives... Who's with me? Who is ready to live an even happier, more generous life beginning TODAY? If you are enjoying these podcasts, if you would take a moment to give it a thumbs up review, we would sure appreciate it! To you and your Greatness!! In Joy, Meridith Hankenson Alexander Curious about the generosity research? See the Time Magazine article here: http://time.com/4857777/generosity-happiness-brain/

Audio book! This may be the best of all of the book formats!
Alright, dear Global Family! I can't wait to tell you!! The audio book is FINISHED!! I confess that the audio book has become my new FAVORITE! As you would imagine, when I wrote these posts, it was very personal even though I was writing the words for you all. As I went back and read them and actually EMOTED the words specifically for you all, it was more powerful than I ever would have expected. If you enjoy reading my words (and thank you soooooooo much AGAIN for helping us get to the #1 New Release for motivational books), I suspect that this will blow you away! I'm waiting for my designer to tweak the cover for dear Amazon. In the meantime, I wanted to give you all a hint of why I'm so excited!! Here's a little excerpt from the audio book version!!

The View From the Edge– A Sneak Look at Chapter 7 from the Audio Book version of the Sky is the Limit
I couldn't be having more fun getting this collection of the early Schuy is the Limit posts ready for publication on Sunday -- and with the two bonus chapters just for fun! And yet, deep in my heart is the desire to have the courage to deliver an audio version.. where you all can hear my voice... my intonations... my passion... I may stumble in places but I'm not going to edit it out because I want it to be real. We don't have to edit out our "mistakes" in life in order to make an impact. In fact, it's often the ability to understand the power of our "failures" that allows us to travel so far... So... in anticipation of the release of the ebook on Sunday.. and the paperback version sometime shortly thereafter... I think.. because Amazon doesn't make this totally... well... predictable.. I share with you a short taste of the audio version... I never realized how much fun it would be to actually read these posts to my Global family and new found friends... how reading these words allows me to connect with my purpose... allows me to connect with you... In case you haven't noticed, I believe in each of us, in the "magic" of this Earth, this planet...I believe in God Universe's power to continue guiding us toward the magnificent... We are exactly who we are for a reason-- and in our uniqueness and quirkiness lies our power... So I have decided that for today's episode of my podcast, I will give you a sneak peek of what you can expect from the audio book version of the Sky is the Limit... Let me know what you think... For those of you who are just joining us, the Sky is the Limit book that will be released on Sunday is a collection of the actual Schuy is the Limit Facebook posts between the time when the boulder struck my daughter Schuyler in February 2016 and the time when we first returned to Tampa July 31, 2016. The audio book version will feature me actually reading what I wrote ... a profound connection to you all... because at last, I become strong enough and brave enough to let my voice be heard... May the words that were given to me resonate with you in such a way so that you see that this isn't merely a story about Schuyler and me. The bigger story is about each and every one of you. It's our moment... so what's next? In Joy, Meridith

What is Greatness Anyway — Sneak Peak at the Lecture Series Preview Blurb
Greatness lies far beyond even the concept of success. Greatness lies in the place where we realize that the only way to live is to choose to make an impact. …To pull ourselves up out of the dust and agree to wear the cape of the Reluctant Hero if that is what life demands of us.

A Crisis Can Be Like Quicksand Unless….
A crisis can be like quicksand... in this episode, I expand upon yesterday's episode that focusing on those times when we find ourselves engulfed in a crisis moment. For us, it was the moments after the boulder hit. For some, it may be a financial hit. Others may find themselves in personal turmoil. Regardless of the cause of the crisis, it can quickly pull you down and swallow you unless.... As I thought more about the two families embroiled in medical turmoil right now, I was drawn to two books that always seem to have an impact on me. Each time that I read them, new words jump off the pages. With every ounce of my own growth and change, the words of wisdom within the book seem to grow right along with me. Although the first book seems to apply strictly to accumulating wealth, the message applies to all aspects of life. The book is called THE SCIENCE OF GETTING RICH by Wallace D. Wattles. It was published in (yes) 1910 but don't let that take your brain out of the game. This book remains powerful today. The second book is THE GAME OF LIFE AND HOW TO PLAY IT by Florence Shovel Shinn, published in (once again) 1925. Man has been asking the same questions for thousands of years and the answers always seem to imply the same things. It is the application of these answers... the DISCIPLINE required to think as Mr. Wattles would say "A Certain Way" is one of our greatest challenges. And so, we pretend to write off these insights that have been so successful for so many and declare that it's a coincidence. There must be another way. And so, generation upon generation stumbles into their own quicksand moment and begins to falter. So what is the answer? Here is what worked in our own quicksand moment. Shockingly, as I reread these two books, I realized that I had lived their parallel "how to play the game of life" instructions to the tee.... Hope that it helps! In Joy, Meridith

Gratitude — Are Your Stories Training You to Play Small?
THINK BIG has become one of the big, powerful mantras of our time -- and yet, how often do we tell ourselves stories (that then become beliefs and expectations) that train us to play small? We dull our shine so that someone will love us or accept us or so we can fit in. What if we choose to change that and to allow that inner brilliance to spill forth in everything that we do? Today's podcast explores the tales that we tell that make us "dumb ourselves down" in life -- and how we can move forward as the amazing incredible versions of ourselves that we have the capability to be! I would love to hear your comments! Thanks as always for sharing along our journey! In Joy, Meridith

Gratitude – Reading the First Facebook Post From February 2016
It's funny the things that we think about when we're in the middle of chaos...a crisis... the things that our minds tell us that we should be considering...or that we should be worrying about... in my case, I had decided by the time that I arrived in Colombia that my power lay in my ability to visualize order in this experience. From these chaotic circumstances, I had to extract a place of order where Schuy was alive, happy and thriving... where I was happy and thriving... where the world was at peace as it should be... where the pulse of life was strong and abundant... I remember feeling incredibly nervous as I sat down to write the first post from me on Schuy's Facebook page. Aside from the whirlwind of emotions that I had been feeling over the past day and a half, I was torn between a desire not to offend Schuy's friends and our family by appearing inappropriately positive and by the desire to be the unwavering beacon of light that would keep the focus of our loved ones on Schuy as a powerful entity -- not as someone who has now been devastated by this boulder. I wanted everyone's vision of Schuy to be that vision of her at her most vibrant and strong. I felt that what we all see her as is what she would inevitably become. I remember gingerly writing those first words...nervously hitting the publish button... and hoping that the world would understand. Not only did they understand, but they rallied around us with such grace and such positivity that life became magical. On Friday, I had a chance encounter with one of the wonderful moms that I knew from our years at New Tampa Dance Theater. She asked if I had put together the posts in a book. She got me thinking. Yes, the book WILL come at the perfect time. Wink! In the meantime, I was wondering.... would it be of value to you, my wonderful Global Family and listeners to make an audio book available in time for the holidays? Here is a sample of what an audio book might ultimately sound like. Let me know if that is something that would be of value? If there is enough interest, I will be MORE than happy to put that together... Wishing you all a day of joy and wonder! xoxo Meridith

Greatness — Is It Only For the Chosen Few?
Greatness! Is it only for the chosen few? Is it only for the elite of the elite? How can we own our greatness when our minds tell us that we are flawed and far from the definition of great? And yet, aren't these flaws the fuel to our own unique form of greatness... and aren't our scars proof that we were mightier than the boulders that tried to bring us down? New episode! I would love to hear your thoughts about how you own your own version of greatness. And if you like these episodes, don't forget to hit subscribe. Gratitude — What if Life Didn’t Get the Memo About Your Fairytale?
New podcast: When Life seemed to take pleasure in "deconstructing" my childhood fairy tales, it was hard not to lose hope and despair. Who would have guessed the impact that this boulder would have on those dreams and aspirations... Would it be the final blow -- or would it redefine how BOLDLY I must learn to dream...?

Gratitude — The Gift of Being Someone’s Hero
Each of our unique wells of greatness expands when we have the opportunity to love and support one another. Heroes don't have to have superpower capes. Heroes can be the "ordinary" human who simply chooses to make a difference in another person's life. Be someone's hero. Do something mighty and magical. You will be glad that you did! Take the Greatness Challenge and Live the Change Starting Now
On the plane headed over to Colombia, I realized that I had to find my own inner greatness. I had to tap into all that made me uniquely me. I had to find and embrace my own quirky version of power and make it real. I had to be mighty. I had to be magical. I had to find my own unique way to believe in miracles. I had to be everything that the critical voice inside my head told me that I could not be. I had to break out of the cocoon that declared that it was fine to be "good enough". I had to take a look at my life and find a way to take it from good to great. This past week, I attended a board room where I found myself facing the remnants of "good enough-ness" in some of the other aspects of my life. I had to admit that in many ways, I was terrified of being judged as vain if I declared that I wanted to strive to live my greatness. I want to embrace who I am, what I am and who I am becoming even at the risk of being ostracized from the crowd. There's a phrase that perhaps is chilling to you too... the phrase that says that it's lonely at the top. Well, darn it, if more of us are willing to brave playing at the top of our game, it won't be so lonely up there. Imagine if we all fondly embrace our own greatness? Guess what, when each of us allows ourselves to play great, it then validates everyone's right to play great. Can you imagine a world where we joyously shined out our own greatnesses? Can you imagine the innovation? Can you imagine the creativity? But most of all, can you imagine the happiness? Today, I hope that you will join me in taking the Greatness Challenge. Take that beautiful, amazing brilliance that is purely and uniquely you and unleash it for all the world to see. Dance, smile, embrace the world. Breathe it all in. Because yes, you are meant to be here. The world needs you... you, you, you, you, YOU!! In you is the reflection of each and every rainbow, each and every brilliant idea, each and every splash of fairytale magic that the biggest dreamers could ever dream. Inside of you is the next miracle waiting to happen. Take the leap. Take the challenge. Beyond the world of "good enough", lies the incredible potential of going for the GREAT! IN JOY, Meridith

Podcast Episode 3: Trouble Feeling the Gratitude?
Sometimes things can seem so low and overwhelming that it can feel hard to feel the gratitude in those moments -- much less to feel worthy and in touch with our own greatness. What then? We are told that things will get better if we feel grateful for all that we have, but what if things feel awful and your mind is crying out that this gratefulness stuff is a total fake? Have you ever been there? I'm a positive person but my mind has still been there. So is it possible to trust the process? How do we find the power of gratitude when things feel beyond bleak? That's the topic of Episode 3 in my podcast series. If this moves you or makes you think, I would love to hear your feedback on iTunes. And if you feel inclined to subscribe to my podcast, you will be helping me to make my way to iTunes' New and Noteworthy category! DREAM BIG!! YES, INDEED!! In Joy, Meridith Hankenson Alexander
