Video Resume for Dr. Freddy Cardoza
I've just completed rebuilding my personal CV (academic resume, or Curriculum Vitae).  Curriculum Vitae (CV) is a Latin phrase meaning "Course of Life."  It refers to the document people in certain professions create to demonstrate their career-long growth in expertise, experience, and education.  CVs are unlike resumes.  The word "resume" is a 19th century French word meaning "to sum up," meaning that a resume is only supposed to 'summarize' one's life work in the most abbreviated fashion possible, typically a page or two.  In the case of higher education and some other fields, CVs are expected to be substantial and detailed.  They are supposed to document claims to expertise, experience, and education, providing the reader with proof of each.  For this reason, CV's/Expanded Resumes are substantial and usually quite long documents. Here you will find my current CV, one that I built and published personally.  It represents an entirely new approach of building such a resource based on the description above.   There are many images and live links in the document that provide additional content.  I hope you enjoy it.  Additional resources are available at www.freddycardoza.com.  Contact me if you have any questions or would like to learn more.

Episode 38, Christianity
Christianity is the world's largest religion with over 2 Billion professing believers.  Christianity developed from the Jewish faith, with Jesus of Nazareth, a Jew, being identified as the Messiah of the World.  Christianity spread rapidly, ultimately becoming the official religion of the Roman Empire, in addition to spreading into the Eastern Hemisphere.  This made Christianity global, as it spread to all continents.  Christianity has three major divisions, Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Protestant.  In this podcast, these movements and the essential beliefs of Evangelical Christianity are discussed, along with points of contrast and comparison between biblical concepts and the teachings of other religions.  The conclusion is that, contrary to popular belief, Christianity does not teach the same thing as other religions and that the different religions communicate completely different concepts of God that force people to decide which, if any, faith is true and should be followed.             Christianity: Christian Beliefs Contrasted with Other Religions from Freddy Cardoza

Episode 37, Islam
Islam is a religion with, according to some, up to 1.6 Billion followers worldwide.  It is a faith that arose from the Saudi Arabia, but grew throughout Arabia, into broader Asia, Europe, and Africa, then beyond. The history of Islam is complex.  The Quran documents the development of Islamic thought and the Hadiths provide additional information about Muhammad and his life.  Those have given rise to an enormous religion comprised of both peace-loving people and, in some areas, large percentages of extremists.  Islam and Muslims sometimes confuse and confound people of other faiths, and this session was created to help inform people of what Islam teaches, while contrasting Muslim beliefs with the Christian faith and the teachings of Jesus Christ.  Below you will find a slide deck.  It's provided to help you better understand this podcast by allowing you to manually flip through the slides while listening to the lesson.   Islam: A Christian Looks at the Muslim Faith from Freddy Cardoza Enjoy. Episode 33, God is Just
The Count of Monte Cristo is a stirring classic novel surrounding the adventures of Edmond Dantês. Edmond had it all. He was a man of faith, talented, and handsome. Following a long seafaring trip, Edmond is unexpectedly elevated to ship captain and is set to marry the raven-haired beauty, Mercédès. But before they could tie the knot, three unlikely, jealous, and greedy men conspire to have him thrown in jail.To maintain the secret of their betrayal, Edmond is publicized as dead but is privately locked away in the dreadful island dungeon, Chateau d'If.   Believing Edmond has been executed, Mercédès is inconsolable. She is tricked into marrying Fernand Mondego, Edmond’s best friend— the man secretly responsible for having him put away.  Hopeless, bitter, and forgotten, Edmond nearly loses his faith. He is being punished for a crime he didn’t commit, while the guilty parties go free. God seemed nowhere to be found. But Edmond ultimately escapes and, after many years, both he and the evil-doing trio get their just rewards.   Like Edmond in the Count of Monte Cristo, the Old Testament Prophet Ezekiel saw God’s people suffer what appeared to be coarse injustice. But as time unfolded, they came to realize that God is always just—even when life seems unfair.  Join us as we learn more about this important attribute of God that will help you in your spiritual maturity.

Episode 32, God is Loving
What is God Like?  If God is anything, He is "loving."  In fact, God isn't only loving-- He is "love," personified.  His being emanates love through His great kindness toward all people, because God genuinely loves us. God's love for us is in spite of our sometimes less than ideal behaviors and inconsistency.  Take some time to learn more about God's love by learning about God's character as told originally by the Apostle John.... the "disciple Jesus loved."  After all, who would know better than the one known as "the beloved?"  We'll springboard from learning about God's love into deeper issues related to how God manifested His love most, which has been the person of Jesus Christ.  In this podcast, we will plunge deeply into some important theological ideas to remove the mystery and maximize the majesty of the great God of the Bible.

Episode 031, God is Holy
What is God like?  What is His Nature?  What is His personality?  What are His attributes?  These are the questions we'll explore in this series "Beyond Belief."  In Session 1, we will study the idea of God's Holiness.  This includes God's moral attributes which describe the God of the Bible.  We'll learn more about theology and God's Character.  It's a deeper, yet fascinating study conducted live at Saddleback Church Irvine in August 2015.  This study is based on my book and DVD set, Beyond Belief, published by LifeWay.  Join us for this session and the entire Beyond Belief series.  And if you like it, share it. Thanks for listening.  Find the exciting and informative slide deck for the lesson and watch along.  Download or view it at this link: http://www.slideshare.net/FreddyCardoza/beyond-belief-session-1-god-is-holy-cardoza-51290299

Episode 030, How to Know God's Will
Knowing God's Will is one of the most important yet most vexing issues in the Christian life.  People feel the need to know God and to understand what He is doing in their lives, but are often at a loss about how to discern His Voice.  How does God speak to us?  How do we know God's Will?  What are the mechanics of it all? Are there sources of information that aren't reliable from a Christian perspective?  Why?  What can we trust and what understandings should govern our discernment of God's Will? These are the types of things discussed in this podcast, How to Know God's Will by Dr. Freddy Cardoza.  This is an audio from a live event at Saddleback Church, Irvine South Campus Men's Ministry, July 30, 2015.  Visit www.freddycardoza.com/media-kit for more information.
