Ep. 23: Shipped High In Transit
back on episode 1 you heard these guys on their flagship show, Anywhere But Here, and if you haven’t heard that, make a point to go back and listen to that show, but this is the second of the ABH pods to grace you with their mere existence. Shipped High In Transit is a completely different show from their usual back and forth. This show focuses on the idea of urban and internet legends, stories that are widely believed, but not necessarily true. Ep. 21: Science Fiction Film Podcast
I spent a lot of time this week listening to our featured guest this week. A while back I was listening to a show called Liberty Street Geek, part of the LSG network, but when I switched phones I lost their subscription, but I reached back out to Drew, the mastermind behind the network to catch up and he has streamlined some things that really translates well. During the main LSG show, the hosts covered a range of shows and movies and there were great conversations about all of them, but now, the feeds are becoming a bit more defined and I think that is an excellent move for these guys. So that leads us to Science Fiction Film Podcast. SEO GOLD right there, folks. But the show is completely focused around their conversations on, you guessed it, Science Fiction Film. The episode that Drew chose for you guys is the first official episode of the new rebranding of the podcast. It’s all about the movie Blade Runner, which is not one of my top movies, but hearing their perspective on it, I gotta say that they definitely got me thinking about the story as a whole and it’s definitely on the rewatch list. But for now, let’s let them tell us about it, Here is The Science Fiction Film Podcast with episode 1 Blade Runner – Final Cut

Ep. 20: Nerd Out Loud
For our feature this week, I’m bringing you a really great show that I have been pouring through the last few weeks. The hosts are bringing in interesting guests and focusing on really great topics that have kept me entertained through new episodes as well as doing some major catchup on their previous episodes. The premise of the show isn’t about nerd stuff so don’t let the name throw you off, they actually focus mostly on discussing the things that they nerd out about and interview folks that have passions of their own.

Ep. 19: Mad About Movies
The guys over at Mad About Movies just get it. It’s hard to explain but they do such an excellent job of talking about the movies of the week that even without seeing the movie, there is real value to what they are telling you. That goes a long way especially when trying to get new listeners. The audio quality is fantastic and the conversations are natural and not forced at all. Now, they didn’t give me a specific episode to play, they were planning on just their most recent, but then those glorious bastards at Mad About Movies went and released a Throwback episode celebrating the 25 year anniversary of 1989’s Batman. I really, really loved this episode and I’m so glad I get to share it with you guys, so without any more blabbering on my part, here it is. Mad About Movies Throwback! Batman (1989)

Ep. 18: Drunk Geek Blog
One of the last of the original podpals to be featured on the show, The Drunk Geek Blog podcast is easily on of the most entertaining shows in the geek genre, independent or otherwise, I have been listening to this pod for a long time and they are consistently interesting to listen to, all of the hosts have a great back and forth with each other, and the conversations range all over the geek spectrum. They cover books, comics, movies, TV, gaming and everything else under the sun. Alright so this episode is full of honestly just a ton of stuff, like every episode they do, there is just so much content in them to absorb. If you have heard the show before and participate in the drinking game that they have, you are going to make it all of about 30 minutes before you pass out, but make sure that you listen when you wake up and then let them know what you think of the show! Ep. 15: The Dead Bedouins
Now the episode that they chose for you guys is one of the funniest episodes in podcasting period. I wont give you too many details because I want you to be pleasantly surprised, but you might just have a new respect for Rodney Dangerfield and maybe even OJ Simpson after this. Now for the easily offended, I will tell you that you might want to sit this one out but you would be missing a hilarious show that takes it to the limits of funny and dips its toe in the water. Their shows have some really awesome guest sketches too; recently they had Rich Hedburg, the brother of deceased comedy legend Mitch Hedburg on and Frank Underwood from House of Cards. Now as always, let me give you the social links so that you can reach out to them and shower them with adoration after you listen to their show!

Reading through with voices, ad-libbing and a breakdown unlike anything else I have heard in the movie podcasting space!

Episode 12: [Bracket!]
Hello and welcome to #fortheloveofpod, the show where I, Jake Calland, take you into the past present and future of indie podcasting aboard the DeLorean that is iTunes! Now this episode that they chose for you guys is probably one of my favorite of theirs to date, the ultimate battle of super-powers. It is every nerds dream to put together a list this epic and duke it out amongst their friends to determine the best power and now you can take part in that ultimate nerd-dom! Join the guys as they tear apart your childhood, cover it in gasoline and watch it burn! Join me after the episode and I’ll get you guys some more info and tell you about next week, but for now it is here! Episode 10 – Super Powers I have said this before, but as a podcaster you can’t help but love this show. The idea is ridiculously good. Take any topic, whether it’s sodas, bad video game mascots, failed sports franchises, anything. And turn it into a Battle Royale Sweet Sixteen matchup! Even though you will usually end up screaming at your phone in anger and disgust with every one of your favorites being cast aside or forced to battle it out for “dirty toilet water”. The host Cullen sits down each week with his co-hosts to break down what they think reigns supreme and they invite you to take part in it to with a poll at the end of each weeks episode! I want to get you their links and tell you about how you can pick up some Bracket! swag. First thing you should do is head over to BracketPodcast.com This is the place where you can go to pick up new episodes of Bracket as well as their new project Hot and Old, which I was just telling you about.. Ep. 10: Bauer Hour
This episode, the guys go through the 24 universe a season at a time to find the perfect romantic fit for Jack. From Season 1 all the way to 8, they come up with some awesome reasons for why some ladies may be a better or worse fit than you may think. Now, obviously if you plan on watching 24 from season 1, I will tell you, this episode is full of all kinds of spoilers, pretty much from the jump. I would say, make sure you have seen the first two seasons before you listen for sure. If you aren’t really interested in 24 all that much, make sure you listen, because even though you may not fully grasp the show, they do a great job of giving some backstory of each character so that you can follow along without too much trouble. And as always make sure that you let these guys know what you think and give them a shout on social!
