Is it lawful?
Today, on the FGSL podcast, we are joined by my good friend Keraro Ogendi as we continue our discussion through the gospels. Just like the previous episode, Jesus is put in a bit of a pickle when he heals a man on the Sabbath. He has a lot to say, by saying very little, about what is lawful to do on the Sabbath and what is not and it all boils down to this one point, "It is lawful to do good."We will be reading Matthew 12:9-21 & Mark 3:1-12.You can find Keraro on Youtube as Keraro Ogendi and on Facebook by the same name.PS: You can follow me on Twitter below so you can stay updated on any new episodes I release. I desire khesed
Hello there,"If you tried to describe what God is like, it could be difficult or daunting. But when the people who wrote the Bible pondered the mystery of God, they consistently described God’s character in this way: compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, overflowing with loyal love and faithfulness as recorded in Exodus 34:6.We’re going to look at this fourth phrase, loyal love. It translates the Hebrew word khesed, which is hard to translate into any language because it combines the ideas of love, generosity, and enduring commitment all into one. Khesed describes an act of promise-keeping loyalty that is motivated by deep personal care."This is taken from the script of episode 5 on the Character of God series made the Bible Project.Today, a controversy arose where Jesus' disciples were now being accused of breaking the Sabbath by plucking grain heads. We will be reading Matthew 12:1–8 & Mark 2:27.PS: You can follow me on Twitter below so you can stay updated on any new episodes I release. "The Case for Christ"

After completing a thorough investigation for almost two years he finds the historical evidence for Jesus and then finds a new faith in Christ..."This synopsis is for the movie The Case for Christ and is from the IMDB website.Today, we look at some of the testimonies about Jesus being the Son of God and the Messiah, the Saviour of the world. We will be reading John 5:31-47. PS: You can follow me on Twitter below so you can stay updated on any new episodes I release. Like Father, Like Son
Hello there,Consider this: a father is going on a trip and leaves his son in charge of his farm. The hired hands really love the father but do not fancy the son too much. So, they decide to do no work until the father comes back. The son appeals vehemently but the hired hands are also vehement in their refusal to work. When the father comes back, everything is well. When the father looks at the people working, he realizes that they are all freshly hired hands. When he enquires why, the son says, "These that you left refused to listen to me because they could only listen to you. So, I went out and hired other hands. And these have listened to me, doing all I have said, waiting to meet you." The son asks, "Father, who is loyal? These that have listened or they that have not?" The father looks at him and then looks at both groups of hired hands. His eyes dwell on the freshly hired hands, and he smiles.Today, we study why Jesus is like the Father.PS: You can follow me on Twitter below so you can stay updated on any new episodes I release. "Do you want to be made well?"
Hello there,When a patient is sick, they know they are sick. They have a fever, they are fatigued or maybe they are dehydrated. These are symptoms, signs that show the person needs treatment. What about sin? What are the symptoms? Emptiness? Sadness? Depression? Fear? Confusion? The symptoms vary but just like sickness, if sin is not treated, it leads to death. In, this episode, we see how a sick man who wanted healing serves as a good example of how our want of healing may help us grasp the ever-ready hand of God.PS: You can follow me on Twitter below so you can stay updated on any new episodes I release. You need to trust Him
Sometimes what we want is not what we need. You may want to do things your way as you have every right to but you may need to trust the advice of others. This is such a story where a man wanted to find healing for his son but needed to trust the Healer. I invite you as we traverse through the story of the healing of the royal official's son as it is recorded in John 4:46-54.

Just do it
One does not need to look further than their own experience to realize that the best things in life come when one decides to risk it all and go all out. One only needs to take a leap of faith, brace for the storm and look forward to the rainbows and sunshine on the other side. But risk solely is not sufficient. One needs to be honest with themselves and be aware of their flaws. Otherwise, one step forward might result in two steps backward. Let us consider Peter in Matthew 4:13–22  and Luke 5:1-11.

A Prophet hath no honour in His own country
In this episode, we see that being a disciple of God presents its own challenges, namely rejection. Prejudice is a great barrier to developing faith. Consider, Jesus the prophet as He is rejected by His own country, Nazareth.✌️

Can you have some water, please?
In this episode, we get to learn that we are all thirsting for something better. Not to rubbish what we have, but in Jesus' words, "Store up treasures where neither moths nor rust can damage nor where thieves can steal." In this episode, a woman searching for water at a well gets what she is looking for... well, maybe, not exactly. 🙂

He must increase, I must decrease
In this episode, we get to learn that following Jesus sometimes causes friction, externally, or internally. We are sometimes challenged, troubled, or confused about whether or not or why we should follow Him. Borrowing a leaf from John the Baptist, the key is this; humble submission. Join me in this episode as John answers this question asked by his disciples, "Why are people flocking to Jesus?"God bless you. 🙏

For God so loved
Believing in Christ doesn't get any better exposition than this. Words cannot expound the depth and breadth of the conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus. Yet, it is simple enough that children can cling to and cherish the most popular, memorable, and impactful verse in all of Scripture. It is the heart of God's purpose in doing everything He has ever done. We peek into God's own heart. ❤️

Cleaning a dirty house
Today, we are travelling to Jerusalem to attend an ancient feast. But Jesus is not impressed with the state of a house in the city. He has got a big cleaning job He has to undertake. Question is will the occupants allow it and like it? And are they legitimate occupants or invaders?PS: If you would like to contact me, you can find me at the Twitter handle @OtaoCalvin. Thank you for listening and God bless you abundantly. 😃

How to serve water at a wedding
Ever wondered how the servants who needed wine to serve to the guests at the wedding in Cana, were given water instead and asked to serve it to the master of the ceremony? Bonkers, huh? Or is it?
