Can Health Problems be Optional?
Can Health Problems be Optional? Let's face it – many people around us are suffering with health challenges and it interferes with our mission. So what are the options? I have   been there – sick, overweight, in pain - you name it. It hurts - it's debilitating - IT'S OPTIONAL! Yes, that's right, in many cases –it is optional. The first step I had to make was to change my focus.  Stop being caught up in the winds of opinions that change every 3-5 years.. Instead seek the Lord for direction. His truths for biblical health are timeless. Second grab your Bible,  with over 800 verses to teach us what God meant when he said “It is good” when he delivered our meal plans. When you take these two simple steps – God will reveal Himself to you in a fresh organic way. True delight will come to your health as you sit at the table and savor the flavor of His goodness. Do You Praise God in the Produce Aisle?
Do you Praise God in the Produce Aisle?   Recently I was going through the produce aisle getting the necessary ingredients for a cooking class.  As I reached for the kale plant and methodically placed it in the cart I noticed a tiny yellow flower on the very tip of the plant. Quickly my spirits began to rise and I called the man stocking produce over to share my discovery. “Sir did you know this tiny delicate yellow flower with these 4 perfect petals in the shape of the cross come from the cruciferous family and cruciferous stands for crucifix and this kale plant is family to 12 most health promoting foods you can eat?  And did you know that just as this plant brings healing to our body the cross brings healing to our soul?” The man looked at me in shock – didn’t know what to say. Have you looked for ways to praise God in the produce aisle? Join me in a health challenge this year by adding 1 cup of cruciferous vegetables each day to your diet if you want to test it out, add 2-3 cups daily if you want to get phenomenal results. Food Challenge for Superior Health
Food Challenge for Superior Health We have all been told eat our vegetables; some days we comply and other days we defy.  Perhaps we need a story to challenge us and teach us why. Imagine Jesus   decides to dine with you. At the dinner table He shares what happened outside the walls of Jerusalem when three crosses were raised and He was in the center. He explains how his blood was shed for our redemption.  Jesus goes on to describe his reminder of the cross in the four petal flower on the cruciferous vegetable. As you look down at your plate of broccoli He finishes by explaining that cruciferous means cross. And the cross brings healing.  Research proved    Cruciferous vegetables are twice as powerful as other plant foods.  In population studies a 20% increase in plant food intake generally corresponds to a 20% decrease in cancer rates, but a 20% increase in cruciferous vegetables intake corresponds in a 40% decrease in cancer rates. Another study showed eating 28 servings of vegetables per week decreases prostates cancer risk by 33%, but just 3 servings of cruciferous vegetables per week decreases prostates cancer risk by 41%. Incredible studies show God’s amazing design in these often ignored vegetables. Now we can prove it to ourselves by taking the Cruciferous Challenge. To learn more about the health benefits and biblical connection of cruciferous vegetables: Treasures of Health Nutrition Manual. The Cruciferous Challenge is a 30 day challenge will let you experience 3 things: How simple it is to add vegetables to the diet How new recipes add new favorites to the menu How God’s design in the cross does bring healing. 7 Tips to Make Food Taste Better
7 Tips to Make Food Taste Better To be healthy it helps to learn to cook. Now you can learn the fun tips to be a success chef. 1. Don't prepare garlic and onions in advance. 2. Trim the green shoots from garlic.  You may be surprised how bitter those shoots really are and that will change a great dish into a push-away. 3. Don't seed the tomatoes. Although it seems the gormet chefs and great recipes at restaurants don't have tomato seeds in them - that is where the real flavor comes from. Save the trouble and don't seed. 4. Score the meat before marinating it. Prick the meat all over with a ford to help marinades penetrate quickly. Salty marinades are the best. 5. Flip or Stir Meat While Marinading. Whether you use a zip lock bag or a covered dish, turn or flip your meat at least once - more is better - to make sure all meat gets equal exposure to the marinade. 6. Trim the Fat from the Beef. Remove all hard fat and connective tissue from the exterior of beef stew meat before cooking; the marbling has enough juice to make a tender juicy steak. 7. Keep Fats Tasting Fresh - The fats in butter, oils and nuts can go rancid and impart off-flavors to your cooking. Minimize their exposure to oxygen and light to slow down this process. Store butter and nuts in the freezer, keep nut oils in the fridge and store vegetable oils in a dark pantry.  When buying vegetable oils make sure they are Organic.   Always fun to enjoy cooking with you.
