Tonight’s podcast welcomes Liz as our co-host and we spend the evening getting to know FiFis Forest newest Friend, as well as our Garden and Greenhouse manager, Shelly Gibson. Be warned, tonight the cast is fast, informative and maybe a little off topic at times. I had a difficult time keeping up with both Liz and Shelly’s quick wit as well as their education about plant life. In full disclosure, the 3 of us have known each other for a long time and there may have been a bottle or two of wine ingested during the recording. Maybe. Liz and Shelly trying to keep it serious.

Michelle and Dave visit the Forest. Michelle is an astrologer who also provides holistic life coaching from a Buddhist perspective. We learn about the teachings of astrology and how Michelle applies that to her clientele as well as to her own life. Michelle explains her services as a life coach and provides information about the many resources she is trained in providing. We also meet her husband Dave, a produce buyer for Green Tree Cooperative Grocery. Together they describe the work they do for Refuge Recovery, a service that provides assistance to individuals seeking aid in their journey to recovery. Rob Howard tells us about his experience in FiFi’s Forest.  Rob volunteers at MidMichigan Industries, which provides “jobs and training for people with barriers to employment through business and human services.”  Rob shares his knowledge on different forms of gardening called permaculture and aquaponics.  Rob is also a professional photographer. Roxanne and Justin visit FiFi’s Forest.  Roxanne describes a passion she has recently found in the form of performing burlesque on stage.  She is a member of the local SASS Burlesque Review.  Justin enlightens us on living abroad, Hodgkins lymphoma, locks of love, and disc golf. In this podcast we introduce ourselves and explain the details of what FiFi’s forest currently is and our dreams for the future.  We also introduce the listeners to our background story as a family, describe who Fifi is, and why we chose to name our forest after her.  This podcast is distinctly different in format than the podcasts that will follow as this serves as an introduction of ourselves as podcasters and our purpose for the show.  We hope you will enjoy listening and begin to gain an understanding of our plan and our forest and that you will continue to join us each week as we meet new community members, find out what people are creating and get to know more about Fifi and other persons like her.
