Episode 65 - Silent Night Deadly Night
Welcome to Christmas time at Fearless Films! Having run out of Black Christmas movies to talk about (for now) Pete and Kevin turn to another Christmas movie for their holiday Cheer. Unfortunately for them 'cheer' is the last thing anyone is feeling as they struggle through this movie.Pete tries to grapple with the horrendous exploitation in this 80's slasher telling the tale of a deranged orphan pushed past the brink of sanity, donning a Santa costume to go on a bloody Christmastime rampage. Kevin spends his time oscillating between trying to understand the choices the movie makers make while criticizing the killer's choices of how he racks up the body count. His work is cut out for him this episode because Pete's right there with him in questioning the choices this movie makes. So sit back next to the fireplace this Christmas time and make sure to lock your doors, and chimneys this Christmas time as Santa may be looking at your for his "Naught - KILL" list! Have a happy holiday season from fearless films and remember - don't get too scared...

Episode 63 - Child's Play
On this week's episode of Fearless Films, the guys open up one Christmas present early, and inside is a killer doll! This is the late 80's slasher hit, Child's Play!Pete tells the tale of a notorious serial killer using voodoo magic to inhabit the body of a doll in order to cheat death. He then continues his killing spree while trying to obtain the body of a young boy. In true 80's fashion, all of this madness is played straight and taken most seriously.Kevin spends the entire episode trying to wrap his head around how a doll could be dangerous in the first place. More than that however, Kevin sympathizes with the high cost of toys for children, and how difficult it can be to please one's kids.So take the batteries out, close the closet door, and stuff what's left under the bed. Make sure none of your toys are watching, and remember: don't get too scared...

Episode 62 - 30 Days of Night
In today's episode of Fearless Films, the guys discuss 30 Days of Night, a comic book inspired tale about a group of vampires that descend on a small Alaskan town to feed for an entire month while the sun never comes up over the horizon.Pete describes the film as the last bastion of good, monstrous and violent vampires before the first Twilight film would come out the following year. Kevin can only focus on his man-crush, Josh Hartnett, and largely complains that living in Alaska in general is a terrible idea.So join us for this bloody and gruesome monster movie, and remember: don't get too scared...

Episode 61 - Dr. Sleep
On this weeks episode of Fearless Films, the guys return to the Overlook for the rare Stephen King sequel, this time being Dr. Sleep.Pete explains how this follow-up to The Shining focuses more on psychic people battling each other, and less on spooky haunted hotels. Little Danny Torrence is all grown up, and battling demons both metaphorically and literally.Kevin squirms as King continues to put children in danger and make us face the horrors of the human condition. He also appreciates a fine whiskey, and wishes he had his own ghost bartender to offer him a drink after a hard day.So join us as we get stuck in the hedge maze one last time, and remember: Ka is a wheel, don't get too scared...

Episode 60 - The Shining
On this week's episode of Fearless Films, the guys go on holiday to the infamous Overlook Hotel in Stanley Kubrik's "The Shining."Pete breaks down the classic horror film, from its pioneering of Steadicam technology, to its differences from the Stephen King source material.Nerd warning: Pete may go on a rant about how the book is better (but the movie is still great).Kevin realizes that no where is safe from Stephen King, as this story does not even take place in Maine, but rather the state of Colorado. He also laughs in the face of terror, as he has been trapped in his house with his family for the better part of a year, and no one has even picked up an axe once (he did get smacked with a spatula once, however. Long story). So join us in the ballroom, grab a drink from the waiter, and always remember: don't get too scared...

Episode 59 - Happy Death Day
This week on Fearless Films, the guys repeat the same day over and over again with Happy Death Day.Pete explains how a young female college student is caught in a timeloop, and is murdered over and over again by a killer in a baby mask. Unlike the seminal timeloop film, Groundhog's Day, she does not learn how to play the piano with her new free time (however, she does learn to love again).Kevin dreams about all he could get down with that extra time (like learning the piano), but then fears that his college debt would increase substantially from the time loop.Join us as we enjoy a horror movie where instead of a group of people gets brutally murdered, its just the main character over and over. And remember, don't get too scared...

Episode 58 - The Evil Dead
On this week's episode of Fearless Films, the guys take their 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 to the place where evil spends its summers, Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead!Pete explains the cult classic that built the foundation of a group of young people meeting at a secluded cabin and conjuring spirits from an ancient book. He also explains that the way to defeat the evil is to hack it limb from limb, even if it is possessing your loved ones.Kevin learns the hard way why late night parties reading ancient Sumerian are never a good idea. He then questions any vacation spot that only has one way in or out, and thinks these kids should have got their money back from their travel agent. So join us in this cabin of chaos, and remember: don't get too scared...

Episode 57- Jason REMAKE
This week on Fearless Films, the guys confront their most dreaded enemy once again - THE REMAKE. This time they are discussing Friday the 13th (2009).Pete explains how the writers crammed four movies worth of plot into this one film, and yet somehow came up with a shallow series of kills with barely any story holding them together (and that's compared to the 80's slashers this is rebooting).Kevin is barely hanging on after a month of Jason, and finds no respite from this entry. He has the know-how to see how this movie is somehow a worse version of the entire franchise he just learned about. So join us for the most gratuitous sex scenes in the franchise, a human Jason that plays the most dangerous game, and a hillbilly having relations with a mannequin (really). And remember, don't get too scared...

Episode 55 - Friday the 13th The Gimmick Years
This week on Fearless Films, the guys enter the prime of the Friday the 13th series' pop culture influence: The Gimmick Years. From parts 5 through 8, the creators throw in everything but the kitchen sink in order to keep audiences interested in the bloody adventures of Jason Voorhees. We're talking copycat killers, Frankenstein-like revivals from the dead, battling psychic girls, and even visiting the Big Apple itself, New York City.Pete explains how each entry gets crazier and more over the top, and fails to bring in the dollars of the early films.Kevin has the startling realization that the definitive pop culture image of Jason does not even take full form until 7 or 8 entries into this franchise. So join us on this killer cruise through one of the greatest slasher epics of all time, and remember: don't get too scared...

Episode 54- Friday the 13th Franchise Breakdown Part 1 - The Human Years
On this week's episode of Fearless Films, the guys return to their annual October tradition of The Franchise Breakdown. This year, they are discussing Pete's favorite slasher series, Friday the 13th.In part 1, Pete breaks down Friday's 2, 3, and 4 - The Human Years. Jason is still just a "regular" human killer, who runs instead of stalks, and struggles to grapple with teenagers instead of bending them in half with super strength. These early entries still have the feeling of late 70's summer slashers, with plenty of POV shots and screaming women.Kevin tries to wrap his head around the fact that Jason doesn't even get his hockey mask until part 3, and that part 4 is called The Final Chapter when he knows there are so many more entries in this series. And worst of all... one of these movies is in 3D!!!So grab a machete, strap on a hockey mask, and join us for a journey through one of classic slasher franchises of the 1980's. And remember, don't get too scared...

Episode 53 - Black Xmas.... AGAIN.
On this week's episode of Fearless Films, the guys are celebrating their one year anniversary by coming full circle and returning to the haunted place where it all started: Black Christmas!... (2019).Pete is amazed to admit that he actually found a version of Black Christmas that he enjoyed! Turns out, when you remove the shock factor gross-out elements, creepy incest, and erratic jumps in tone, you can actually put out a pretty good movie.Kevin is skeptical, but follows along anyway. The show must go on, after all. He enjoys the callbacks to the previous movies, but is still disappointed with a severe lack of slashing. So grab your party hats and cut yourself a slice of cake, and join us in celebrating one year of Fearless Films! And remember: don't get too scared...

Episode 52- The Faculty
This week on Fearless Films, the guys have a study session on 1998's The Faculty, a Scream-inspired take on Invasion of the Body Snatchers.Pete explains why a shapeshifting alien overlord chooses to start their invasion in the most ethnically diverse Ohio high school instead of a major metropolitan city. He also wonders why these aliens even bother with a stealthy approach when they seem to be practically invincible as long as they stay hydrated.Kevin tries to keep up with the names and faces in a cast so stacked, he's seen less celebrities at the Oscar's. He also now has to add "possibly falling in love with a mind controlling alien" to the list of reasons he has to fear when his kids get old enough to start dating. So join us for an extended study period, bring a bag lunch, and most importantly: don't get too scared...

Episode 51- Carrie
This week on Fearless Films, the guys discuss the very first Stephen King film adaptaion, 1976's Carrie!Pete explains the story of a lonely, bullied high school girl who discovers she has psychic powers and ultimately unleashes her rage on all those who tormented her and more. Pete also gets excited to see John Travolta in his first major film roll, and his best villainous performance until Face/Off.Kevin, having been conditioned by King stories at this point, assumes the worst at every turn and is suspicious of everyone's motives. He also relives his high school days during an overly long "getting ready for prom" montage, including the gathering of pig's blood for nefarious purposes. So grab a date and join us for the greatest prom in film history, with Stephen King's Carrie! And remember: don't get too scared...

Episode 50- Ready or Not
On this weeks episode of Fearless Films, the guys sit down to play a game with the darkly funny Ready or Not.Pete delves into the pros and cons of making business deals with the Devil, and why you should always check the fine print on the contract. Also, he shows us why the Wedding Night is not the time for the bride to get to know the grooms family.Kevin explains why board games are not the path to a billion dollar company, and you should just buy sports teams instead. He also enlightens us on the benefits of a sacrificial goat pit, and why you should have as many as possible on your property. So grab some dice, a deck of cards, or your favorite crossbow, and join us for a game night to die for with Ready or Not. And remember: don't get too scared...

Episode 49 - Nightmare on Elm St
On this week's episode of Fearless Films, the guys dream up a scare with the essential 80's slasher, A Nightmare on Elm Street. This game-changer from Wes Craven is about a group of teens being stalked in their dreams by a burnt, blade wielding serial killer who can kill you in real life if you die in the dream.Pete explains how vigilante justice can backfire if the criminal you kill has the power to come back in your children's dreams. He also reminds us of the importance of listening to your kids when they say the boogeyman is out to get them, especially if you created said boogeyman.Kevin is excited to explore the horror dreamscape and all the possibilities it holds. He changes his mind though, when he runs across "Freddy Long-Arms" and falls out of his chair laughing. So get a good nights sleep before joining us for this bloody good time, and remember: Don't get too scared...

Episode 48- Pet Semetary
On this week's special episode, the guys pick apart the two film adaptations of Stephen King's Pet Sematary.Pete explains how an overplayed accent is the key to eternal fame, and that cats are assholes whether they are undead or alive. Kevin has to face the horrors of the idea that his children could turn demonic and kill him one day. Also, he agrees that cats are jerks. So grab a shovel and help us dig up the horror that is Pet Sematary. And remember, don't get too scared...

Episode 47- Scream
This week on Fearless Films, the guys redefine the slasher genre with the essential Wes Craven film, Scream (1996).Pete breaks down the rules of every horror movie (and how they can be ignored if you are badass enough). He then reveals that horrifying truth that no matter how big a name your celebrity is, no one is safe in a horror movie.Kevin is relieved to hear that not every horror movie from the late 90's/early 2000's is an edgy, cringey reminder of his teen years. He is also thrilled to see that these teens don't walk blindly into danger, and can actually fight back when threatened. So join us as we Scream for joy at this classic film. And remember, don't get too scared...

Episode 46 - The Blob
On this week's episode, the guys run in terror from the 1988 remake of The Blob. It's a tongue-in-cheek monster movie with a lot of gory practical effects.Pete explains how the only chance we stand against the Ruskies is with uncontrollable, mindless monsters that devour everything in sight. How this helps is still lost on him, but damn it this is America!Kevin tries to figure out why this Blob menace seems intent on breaking up as many teenage dates as possible. Maybe it was scorned by a past lover? Maybe it believes that sex should wait until marriage? What kind of a broken heart dwells within the pink, gooey mass that is The Blob??So join us as we face the unimaginable horror that is, THE BLOB. And remember, don't get too scared...
