Do I ignore the truth of life, that there are so many ways to live, so many differences in culture and opportunities based on our physical locale, so many points of focus in our religious choices.  How can I possibly just say this way and ONLY this way is right?  I know that life if full of contradictions.  My life is, your life is, and among all of us there are a smattering of contradictions.  I worked it out, this struggle I was having, and decided that I need to give the best information I can to you and let you decide what healthy path you wish to travel.  That whatever life options are being discussed on the episodes, I need to treat them as the BEST... because THAT OPTION, that healthy way of life will some BEST for SOMEONE!  And, my friends, that is precisely my goal.  I want to bring everyone to their best healthy option, bring everyone the healthy living choices that they will be able to put to use and sustain to improve their life for the rest of the their life. FGS Epsd 53 - The Smoker, The Trucker & The Lovers
What is it that finally makes people do what they need to get on a healthier path?  Is it a scary medical report?  It is something terrible that can never be taken back?  I am asked what caused me to make these changes almost every day.  It was difficult to put the answer simply, without a lot of conversation.  And I would see the person who asked the question start to fade out of interest as I spoke.  They didn't want my personal answer.  What they really wanted was their answer.  They were hoping that I would say something that would tell THEM how to get serious about the changes they were hoping for in their life.  After days upon days in the Mad Fatty Lab I've finally got the answer!  It is in a handy dandy pill about 4 units big.  Okay, it isn't a pill, but it is just ONE thing.  And I'm glad to be the one who shares it with you. FGS Epsd 52 - Lunch Time Coach - Schedule It
Are you letting everything else decide if you exercise?  It the world, your kids, that unexpected request by your by friend the reason for your lack of healthy lunch prepping?  This episode is here to remind you that you must plan to take care of important things.  When something is important to you it gets scheduled, it wins a time slot.  Hooray for that important thing that you now have on your calendar! Why aren't YOU that important thing on your calendar?  Why isn't your workout time, your healthy dinner cooking time on your schedule for the day?  For the week?  If you don't actually put it down on a calendar, tell those in your life (the people that often have an effect on your day), then it is almost certainly not going to happen.  Then you will get to chalk up another week to "oh, wear did the week go", I wish I had...   Take a minute right now to schedule your next 2 or 3 "I'm important" things.  Put it on your calendar, set reminders for it, put it in your kids' day planners.  You are important, make sure that you show that you believe that so that others will follow suit!  Hey out there!  Do you need a new workout?  Getting a little bored with your basic workout?  I've got a fun one for you.  It is free, but does have a catch!  With just a moment of action on your part I'll send you the "1000 workout".  Follow the instructions at the end of the podcast on how to get this new workout plan. FGS #50 - The Proudest Mama! - People are Watching YOU
As I've gone through my 100 lbs weight loss I was hoping that people would notice.  That they would take action based on what they saw was possible through my watching me.  Last night I realized that my actions were even reaching the littlest people in my life  (little in size, not little is spirit or import!!!).  I'm a super proud mother who's 4 year old told her that she loves doing her exercises!   Who is watching you?  Who is seeing your action and taking action as a result?  Maybe knowing that you have "watchers" will help you in your daily decisions.  Maybe just knowing that "they" are out there will help you make good decisions for THEM and YOU.   Thanks for listening!  Remember that those iTunes reviews really do help the show stay visible to people who need a little push and little tug a little hug as they start or keep trotting along their health journey!

FGS Epsd 48 - Worst Groundhog's Day Ever - Listening Like a Teenager
My body talks to me.  Yep, it really does.  So does yours!  What is truly amazing isn't that it talks to us, but that we often don't listen.  It says, "I don't like this."  Then it gives us an unpleasant reaction.  And what do we do?  Well, many times we do nothing!  We complain, soothe the pain, ignore the unpleasantness, but we rarely take action on our body's feedback.... FGS Epsd 45 -The 6 Things & Why Fatty Hates Diets
As I recorded this episode I was on a short work trip in Chicago.  I found myself still focused on my bigger health goals.  Even though a trip or a vacation is an easy excuse to "escape your life" in some ways, it should never mean that you forget your goals and desires.  While on away from my "normal life" I still made a point to make educated choices.  I didn't overeat and made time for exercise.  All in all it was a great trip and I'm glad I got to record this episode in Chicago, as I'll be able to use it as a reminder of this trip and how well I managed "real life" with the diversion of being "away".   This episode gets to the heard of why I hate diets.  I share "6 Things" with you all.  These are very important things and I hope you put them to use immediately!
