Dancing on the Blade of a Sword
In-Flight Entertainment welcomes you to Marauder Radio starring Bob Zima, Frequent Flyer to Hell and Back. This podcast features the Bob’s quirky insights and lessons learned from having to reinvent, reboot and rebuild his life at least TWICE now…all due to the “Bullsh!t of Life.”   On today’s show, Bob discusses anger. Anger is a behavioral reaction to fear and/or hurt and is used to help us get what we want.   Bob Zima is a middle-aged, over-educated, under-employer, over-weight, guy who believes that when he tries less his life has more success. Bob is also a licensed clinical counselor and improvisational comedy graduate of Chicago’s famed Player’s Workshop of the Second City. So Marauder Radio is a roller- coaster ride of mental health ideas, treasure trove of inspirational rants and witty lampooning of the psychological and religious industries in ‘Merica. Bob’s HOOYA (Head Out Of Your Ass) humor therapy encourages all to engage in a cranium- rectum extraction then get busying having fun.   Is it therapy or a situational comedy? Who knows! Laugh your ass off while you learn and improve the quality of your life.   Disclaimer: Always seek the advice of a qualified mental health professional before ever doing anything suggested on this website.  Don't have one? Understanding the storm, its impact and how to start the healing process is vital whether you are the person in need of grieving and/or working with those who are engaged in the natural healing process of grief. Drink Up Me Hearties Yo Ho
Hello Hole in the Soul Crew and welcome once again to the Grumpy Gator Cafe for yet another episode of Marauder Radio. On today's episode, I, Bob Zima, a Frequent Flyer to Hell AND Back, share with you my thoughts and insights on why drinking and drugging is so effective as a copy technique. Only problem is that over time, for some of us, like me, drinking and drugging's efficacy as a coping technique fades and more problems and issues are ushered into a life that is already under attack.  When you thank a toilet for being cool and wet at 2 am, you might just maybe want to start reconsidering how you deal with and heal from the bullsh!t of life. Drinking and drugging, when they become unhealthy and ineffective, are clear signals that healing must occur. And should you continue to avoid this necessary shift in approach, well, kiss you ass goodbye and embrace the days of being an isolated, a-hole no-one wants to be around.

Dead Men Tell No Tales
Hello everyone and welcome once again to the Grumpy Gator Cafe' for another episode of Marauder Radio: An Anarchy for Mental Health. In this episode I, Bob Zima, Frequent Flyer to Hell and Back discuss how if you fail to heal, if your choose not to heal, if you skip healing, bypass healing, avoid healing or simply flat our refuse to heal, then you will become a soulless and heartless shell of a human being. You will become a zombie of pain and panic stalking the earth and haunting your own life. If you want to alleviate the pain and panic that haunts your life as the result of crisis events or your life, as a result of the life storm that make up the movie of your life, you must engage in two steps: get your head out of your ass and then get your ass off of the couch. You must share your stories of HOW you respond to the stuff that has happened to you. Yeah. Share. Stories. of HOW you responded. Not what happened to you.

Do You Suffer From Geppettoitis?
Bob Zima, Frequent Flyer to Hell and back, spoofs pharmaceutical and other medical commercials pitching treatments for various issues. Every one has a string puller in their life and of course there are times when we pull people's strings. I for one have had my strings pulled which leads to anxiety and depression and then I respond through the use of anger behaviors. I too like to get what I want and have attempted to control and manipulate others in an effort to ensure that I get what I want and need.

Don't Embrace Bad Sh!t Accept It and Move On
Healing is about accepting that bad stuff occurs, not embracing it and loving. Have you every had someone tell you during a bad time in your life that "when you embrace the bad stuff it makes the good stuff even better"? What a lame-ass and dumb thing to say. There is NO psychological evidence and/or proof that embracing, loving, holding on to, focusing upon traumatic times improves the sweetness or enjoyment of celebratory times. None. Nada. So why do we say it? I have no idea. The reality is that all you need to do when the fit hits the shan in your life is accept that the dramatic life storm has and/is/may occurring/occur. Denial is the deadly path straight back to the gates of Hell. When my children died, I had to accept that reality in order to begin my journey on the highway of healing. I had to accept the historic truth that they died and that I would not be allowed to raise them, hold them, love them, cheer for them at games and plays. I didn't have to wallow in the pain, accept their deaths as a caveat for the joys that would come from raising my living children. That is just plain stupid. Dumb. Moronic. If you are on the highway of healing don't every let someone encourage you to embrace and love the bad times for the purpose of appreciating the good times. All you need to do for healing is accept that the bad times exist. Then curse them, hate them, learn from them and get busy healing.

Closed Doors, Open Windows and Technology
Tales from a Frequent Flyer to Hell and Back on Healing and More is part of this new and exciting episode featuring Bob Zima. On this episode Bob discusses the psychology behind the phrase "when God closes a door He opens a window" and just how that phrase builds faith and hope then motivation. However as our imaginations are ignited with faith and we have he energy to get our ass off of the couch and get busy facing the adversity that has entered our lives, sometimes our faith that a window is still open fades. And when faith fades, doubt creeps in. When doubt replaces hope, the fit can and often does hit the shan. Sometimes after our efforts are met with little to no success, we wonder if an open window even exists in the building of which we are searching. Maintaining that faith that a window exists and is open and that our dreams and desires will finally be realized is exhausting. This show explores how motivation is fueled by hope which is generated by faith in ourselves, our skills, our dreams and talents.

When Anger Ruins and Love Means Nothing
Hello again everyone and welcome to The Grumpy Gator Cafe.' On today's podcast your resident lunatic, lover and poet, Bob Zima, discusses when anger and bitterness over the BS of Life begins to turn people off and stunts healing. Bob is a satirical and sarcastic guy from time to time and he's also experienced times when his healing from the trauma collected during his many trips to Hell and back has turned ugly. There is a fine line between satire, parody and the art of lampooning and someone who is simply emotionally barfing on his audience. When this happens, Bob's healing stops, he alienates people and bitterness and resentment sets in. On the back end of the show Bob talks about the importance of building connections to people, places and things so that healing can be optimized. We can have great psychological fitness skills; yet if we lack connections with people, places and things we have no where and with no one to use these great healing skills. Recently Bob has connected with his son, grandmother and loads of childhood memories by once again playing tennis.

Nothing Lasts Forever
In this Put Your Healing Mask on First video series, Bob suggests that for mental wellness to really take shape one must come to an understanding that nothing lasts forever. A great vacation, great meal with friends, the loss of a job, death of a dream eventually end. The pain, happiness, sadness, fear and joy associated with live events fades. In order to optimize your healing and develop effective and health psychological fitness skills, we need to remember that nothing lasts forever. Healing begins also immediately and automatically in reality, things change. When we become so focused on something 'lasting forever' we get suck, healing stops or worse yet regresses. And remember that choosing to believe that something will last forever, will never ever change...that's a choice. And active choice.

The Courtship of Anger and Addiction
Hello again everyone and welcome to The Grumpy Gator Cafe'. On this Marauder Radio episode Bob discusses ballet and courtship of Anger and Addiction. Often the two are partners in the same sick and twisted horror show. Anger is fueled by hurt and fear being trapped in our haunted and dark souls. Addictions, including sex, are used to sooth the hurt and fear. Problem is, addiction only covers up anger for a brief period of time and soon anger is back with more power. Addictions are coping and healing behaviors that one time in our life worked. Now those same behaviors that at one time were effective are now the on-ramp to more and more trouble and pain and panic. Anger, the sound of hurt and fear existing the soul, is also connected to the lack of healing and a signal, warning bell and flashing lights that healing is required.

Healing Tip #32
Hello everyone and welcome to Bob TV. Today's healing tip is all about building new connections. In order to heal effectively and in a healthy way, we need to engage in behaviors that help us heal what has wounded and manage the fear that prevents us from living fully and participating completely in our healing. In order to "behave" to "act" we need connections to people, places and things. When the connects are broke due to a life storm or the connections stimulate the trauma we experiences, then we need to mend and at times build new connections so that our healing progresses. If we fail to build and/or mend connections, we isolate. We avoid. We stop healing. In this video, I discuss the importance of building new connections and why my connection to hockey is so vital to my own healing.

The Power of "How You Interpret the World"
Hello again everyone and welcome to The Grumpy Gator Cafe' Today's podcast episode looks at the power of the mind as it interprets the world around us. From being a winner to a loose or zero to hero to zero in a split second. Hell on Earth people is truly between the ears. Often the difference between mental wellness and mental horror and trauma is the manner in which we thinking about and apply meaning and significance to the every day events of our world. Bob was haunted by a toilet. And not being very mechanical his mind took him on a roller coaster ride of epic cognitive proportions. His interpretations of a leaky flapper valve led to him believing that he was a looser. And that's not true. Read his books, listen to the podcast and even watch his videos...he is NO LOOSER. He's a winner. And reading this blurb will help Bob believe that he's a winner. The mind is powerful.

The Mental Wellness Two Step
Hello again everyone and welcome to The Grump Gator Cafe. Today's podcast discusses the mental wellness two-step or the initiation of healing. Step one is a cranium-rectum extraction. At the end of the day, if you truly want to heal then you need to get your head out of your ass. You need to develop a set of healthy cognitive reframing and processing skills that allow you to evaluate the events of your life in a healthy and effective manner. Second step is to get busy healing. Healing is a one-hundred percent full-contact and participation activity. You have to get your ass off of the couch and get busy building connections to people, places and things. No matter the issue in your life: anger, divorce, infidelity, financial stress, relational tension, career concerns...if you are going to manage the fear that prevents you from living fully as well as heal the wounds of the past you must engage in the mental wellness two-step.

Healing Tip #35
Bob Zima, Frequent Flyer to Hell and Back, is backed with another video healing tip. At the end of the day people, you MUST heal you. You are the only person who can drive and steer your healing plan. You must take personal responsibility, set some boundaries and rules and then just go for it. In this video Bob reflects on his inability to do what is in his best interest. Anxiety and fear can make us do things that are not in our best interest. We don't want to make mistakes, leave money on the table or miss an opportunity so often when faced with solving a life problem, healing and managing our anxiety, we throw everything including the kitchen sink at a problem. That usually doesn't work.

When Life Kicks You Back
Hello everyone and welcome to the Grumpy Gator Cafe. On today's Marauder Radio I share with you my insights, reactions and commentary related to two life episodes that requires all of the use of my psychological fitness skills to protect my mental wellness. When life kicks back and we are disappointed, we feel sad, depressed, down. It's not just the disappointing event that impacts our emotional state, oh no, it is all of the past times in which we have been let down, lied to, disappointed, misled and so on that come along for the ride and add insult to injury. I discuss my disappointment in not making my "take the family to an NHL game" dream a reality. You have also heard that dealing with self-center, self-indulgent and self-focused people can be difficult to live with, work with and attend a conference with. I was schooled on just how coffee "dumb" I was at a conference recently. To avoid being arrested, acting like a loon and making a scene, I relied on my psychological fitness skills of sarcasm to save my sorry little butt. Enjoy the episode.

Healing is About HOW You Respond
Hello everyone and welcome to the Grumpy Gator Cafe. This initial episode of the New Marauder Radio feature Bob Zima, Frequent Flyer to Hell and Back, discussing that when it comes to healing and securing mental wellness the focus is NOT on WHAT happened to you and/or WHY something happened to you. Oh no, the focus is HOW do you respond. When you get dragged kicking and screaming to the gates of Hell, do you set up show, stay awhile or do you get up and walk away. Marauder Radio promotes mental wellness through the development of psychological fitness skills that help all of us triage our trauma (anxiety/depression) and then select the skills and behaviors that we need to improve the quality of your lives each and every day.
