The Women who are part of the FAITHFUL project have had full summers and this fall we will gather together to write, share, and RECORD new music. More on that later....Until then, we felt it was important to introduce you to some of the women in the FAITHFUL community one on one. Like you're sitting across the table from them, sipping a fresh cup of coffee and swapping life stories.  In this series we are calling "Coffee Dates", you'll hear these women interview each other, and answer questions sent to us on socials (and if you want to submit your own questions for a future episode, be sure to follow us!).  Host Keely Scott kicks off this first episode with Savannah Locke as they answer an instagram user-submitted question about faith and community which led to a rich talk about grief, Gilmore Girls, and - lososely - breakfast tacos. We at the Faithful project have been quietly working on a few new musical projects, this time based around the Psalms. We’ll be recording them in a few months to share with you later this year, but this week, in the midst of this week's particular national heartache, we wanted to share a special moment that happened at a writing camp late last year. Leslie Jordan, Trillia Newbell and Ann Voskamp were given the prompt of writing a song based on Psalm 94. What you’re about to hear was recorded on a single mic in the middle of the room right after they had written this song. It’s raw, real and we hope honors the very real pain in the world today. We grieve, but not as those who have no hope. The live version of FAITHFUL’s “Go and Speak” album just released last week. To celebrate we thought we’d share some unreleased conversations captured during the live recording. Today we grab a seat next to She Reads Truth’s Amanda Bible Williams and singer/songwriter Tamar Chipp as they discuss the idea of “Solidarity”. What does it mean that God stands in solidarity with us? How has the pandemic exposed our needs and weaknesses? And could that be a good thing!? In the end, we’ll learn a bit more about what it actually means to remember the goodness and faithfulness of God. This is a good one!

As we get ready for this week’s release of the new live recording of FAITHFUL’s “Go and Speak” album, we’re sharing some unreleased conversations captured during that week’s recording sessions. In this episode we get to sit with Leslie Jordan and Sarah Macintosh, who have a unique perspective on the writing of the songs on this album and the writing of the first FAITHFUL book. They are a part of a writing workshop called “The Fold”, where they lead retreats for writers to create quickly around a series of prompts and then share those prompts with their fellow writers in a really affirming and constructive way. Mini versions of these workshops have kicked off every FAITHFUL writing camp, and they’re directly responsible for some of the most beautiful writing in the book and album. Let’s pull up a chair with Leslie and Sarah as they tell us more about the workshops and how they’ve chosen to lead this amazing group of creative women.
