7/22 The Noise – Inching closer and closer
It was a brand new episode of The Noise with the fiercesome three, Stu, Matt, and G on Monday night after a two week hiatus for the trio. They jumped right into the weekend of sports and started with a recap of The Open Championship where Phil Mickelson put on one of the best rounds of his career on his way to his first Open Championship. To discuss the British Open further the guys welcomed Luke Kerr-Dineen (@lukekerrdineen), assistant editor of Golf Digest. Luke talked about how much whining the players were doing over the weekend, and said there was too much of it. Luke also feels that Tiger Woods, winless in majors since 2008 is closer to winning a major then many realize. After a quick break the guys were joined by Kevin Baxter (@kbaxter11) of the LA Times to talk about the recent resurregence of the US Men’s National Team. Team USA was able to defeat El Salvador to advance to the semi-finals of the Gold Cup. Baxter talked about the weapons that Team USA finally has, as well as the depth that has been built recently. Switching gears to the other football, the big news of the day surrounded one Robert Griffin III. Griffin tweeted that the doctors have cleared him to practice. Coaches will “ease me back in,” he tweeted. It has been reported that Griffin will participate in 7 on 7 drills. Rich Tandler (@Rich_TandlerCSN) joined the program to offer his thoughts on the news on Griffin as well as the storylines that he’s following heading into camp. From the uplifting news about the Redskins and Griffin, the guys switched to the sad state of the Washington Nationals. Patrick Reddington (@Federalbaseball) joined the program to discuss where the Nats can go from here, as they were swept by the LA Dodgers over the weekend. Reddington offered up some keys for the Nats going forward. Your favorite segment of the night “Four Down Territory” wrapped up the night as the guys debated some of the biggest news events of the day. 6/3 The Noise – Panic Time is Near?
It was yet another all new episode of The Noise with the fiercesome three, Stu, Matt, and G on Monday night. The show started with G telling another story of him getting a technical at his basketball game last Sunday night. If you at home are counting that’s two techs in the last two games for G. The guys talked about the game between the Heat and the Pacers, Game 7. The guys all conceded that they believe Miami would win, but held out hope that the Pacers would be able to pull off the upset. Dan Favale (@DaveFavale)  joined from Bleacher Report joined the program next to discuss the game further, and talk about what it would mean for the legacy of Lebron James if the Heat don’t win Game 7. After a quick break the guys turned to the other big news from the Eastern Conference Finals, Roy Hibbert. Hibbert was fined 75K for using inappropriate language at his press conference after Game 6. Stu and G got into a lengthy debate about whether or not Hibbert deserved to be fined, and how much the times and the media reaction played a part in the fine for Hibbert. The guys switched gears to the soccer pitch after a break. The U.S. Men’s National team got a 4-3 victory over the weekend against Germany in an international friendly. The US offense which had been under some pressure showed out in a big way, however it is the defense that guys were worried about. The US has now given up seven goals in their last two matches, and the guys wondered about the defensive pairings moving forward. If you listen closely, you will hear Stu pounding on the panic button for the Washington Nationals. The Nats are struggling and they have been now 50+ games into the season. Patrick Reddington (@federalbaseball) joined the program to offer his thoughts on what the Nats can do. One of the main things he mentioned was get healthy, as the Nats are more like the walking wounded these days. In the newest segment of the show “Four Downs” the guys had two minutes to get through four different topics. Tonight those included what to do with Tim Tebow, and whether or not you would turn in a drunk driver. Follow @NoiseSports, Stu (@THEStuMiller) , Matty (@MattyIce703) , and G (@ThatsG_) on Twitter.
