Eats May 2018
The second show of 2018, and for the loyal, and longtime listeners of Everything and the Kitchen Sink you will be happy to know that this is the regular mayhem and nonsense of the show that you have grown to like, maybe even love. As always, every show is different. I could do all your favourite songs from back in the day, but you could easily slap on your own records and do the same thing without my annoying voice interrupting or pronouncing shit wrong whilst you enjoy your exquisite tunes. I still can't believe that I am still trying to do shows after 7 years. Thank you for being supportive and patient through my much needed breaks from this. As always please go to EatKS.net to get the fancy hyperlinks to directly purchase the track if you love them. Fuck spotify and support the bands! You can follow me on twitter and instagram @EatKS. I dislike facebook but you can find Everything and the Kitchen Sink show page there too. The First and probably not... the last show of 2017
Playlist It seems once you start a music podcast, and sharing the music that you love with people; you just can't quit forever. A break here, a break there... But quite forever? Apparently it's not that easy to do. I have missed doing these shows and there is SO MUCH music out there that just needs to be heard. And I mean are you getting off your lazy ass to do it? No...So here I am once again. Will this be a regular thing? All I can tell you is that I won't let EatKS be swallowed up in the internet white noise. Always a big thanks to the folks at 50thirdand3rd.com for always supporting this podcast over the years ... and a new venture. any EATKS shows will have a guest spot for airplay on Bombshellradio.com Remember to always check EATKS.net for the playlist hyperlinks so that YOU TOO can have this music! Derailing Mayhem and Nonsense with Barry Snaith
I have wanted to have Barry Snaith on the show for quite sometime. I don't do guest shows often but when I do they are certainly some of the best shows that I have ever done. That's because the guest the I have on the show are that awesome. This guest episode is proof of that. Barry Snaith is a seasoned musician which means he's been in the music scene longer than some of your relationships. We talk about the music industry, some crazy stories, his latest projects, and there are a few swears. remember to check out the websites for hyperlinks on show notes and also for you to buy the music featured in the show. The Covers 2
Back a long time ago in a far way galaxy.... I did a show called The Covers Theme show (actually it was originally called Everything and the Kitchen Sink November 7th 2014) But it's 2016 so I can totally go back into time and "rebrand" that episode.... If you don't already know, I am a big fan of covers if they are done right. In fact I went and ranted about it on my website. I do have a rant section on that fancy thing where sometimes I put my ranty nonsense in print form! I haven't done this theme in two years and I didn't feel the urge to revisit until I heard a song I hadn't played on the show in years. There is no better excuse to play a song than to build a show around it. Also it's probably one of the greatest challenges when you want to keep it true to the EatKS eclectic mayhem and nonsense. Please check out the EatKS.net website for all the super duper cool things like the hyperlinks so that you can buy ALL this music and the crazy stuff that I talk about on the show. IMPORTANT,I SCREWED UP! I almost didn't make giving you 2 shows a month. And you know, if I didn't have patreon supporters where I feel that I am accountable to; I wouldn't have. So you can thank them for keeping my ass in line when it comes to delivering shows for you. I could always use more supporters as I am nowhere near my goal of keeping the lights on this podcast. I have some pretty super dee duper rewards, (if you like me telling you dumb jokes every month) you can find me with searching Nikki EatKS on patreon, cause duh. 1996 Mixed Tape Throwdown
The show is back with more mayhem and nonsense than ever before. I debated about making this a true mixtape with no talking and it just being about the music but my choices are pretty obscure for the most part. Sure we all loved some great bands from 20 years ago, did I play your favourite bands and the popular hits that the DJ's were playing in the bars and radio so you can remember your college years.... um no. Firstly a big huge thank you to the awesome unappreciated scholars for the mayhem and the shenanigans that lead up to this crazy idea of a podcast. We did have to hammer out some ground rules for the podcast: more that 2 genres in the podcast 1 genre that we don't normally play on the podcast the show must be longer than 45 minutes but not longer than 90 minutes 3 fun facts about 1996 Sorry iTunes and RSS feed folks, you will have to go to my website EatKS.net to find the unscholars mixed tape show and compare the two podcasts, cause it's not called a throwdown for nothing!.It's a messy playlist of some very popular albums but not the "hits" on the albums. Why it is a messy show? 1996 wasn't just about that rock/alternative genre that flooded the masses. But you will just have to listen to the show to find out how these all happened in 1996! The playlist Bikini Kill - Jet Ski Big Rude Jake - Blue Pariah Annie Lennox and Steve Lipson - Train in Vain 2 Pac and George Clinton - Can't C Me Tracey Chapman - Give Me One Reason Chixdiggit - Shadowy Bangers from a Shadowy Duplex Etta James - I Just Want to Make Love to You Eels - Novocaine for the Soul Opeth - Eternal Soul Torture The Specials - Do the Dog Slayer - Abolish Government/Superficial Love George Michael - Free Everything But the Girl - Wrong Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Crow Jane

MetalBandcampgiftclub is a hashtag that is picking up some great momentum on the twitterverse. Jeremiah is the brains behind the concept of sharing music with others. His partners in crime Manny and Seth helped bring the concept to new heights with the hashtag MetalBandcampgiftclub and the website MetalBandcampgiftclub which features not only music, but links to google hangouts where music fans and bands can talk about MetalBandcampgiftclub. It's a short show. Only six tracks and a shameful attempt once again on the game "what do you know about Joe?" one day someone will study for that stupid test. Remember that on the website not only do you get the opportunity to check out the bands via the hyperlinks but there is a permanent section the bands on the site called "Bands Featured On EatKS" it's the best music shopping rabbit hole on the interwebs. That's right this is the first show of 2016. It's a not your typical length of an EatKS ... BUT I already have another playlist almost complete so that means that next week you will get another one! YAY! New things in the work for this year, a few interviews, a few collabs with some of my favourite trouble makers, another new music feature on the twitterverse. If you haven't checked out my Patreon, you can find it at Nikki EatKS on their website. And I messed up on a track. It's not The Bees, as a band but rather the track. Reading, sometimes, is soooo hard. Here is the playlist and as always please check out the bands via the Hyperlinks. They aren't for me. I do that for you. EatKS and Unappreciated Scholars - The nonsense, the mayhem, the list
I hate making lists, and this isn't all the best music on my radar for this year. This is a merely a snapshot of some of the things I was listening to and really more importantly that are repeat worthy. I asked Steven of Unappreciated Scholars to join me because he is very different in his scope in his hunts for music. This is a very long podcast so if you don't want to download via iTunes, you can do so via the website EatKS.net or stream it on Mixcloud or stream on the websites. I will not apologize for the length, because of a turn of events in the music industry news... I had to put the two podcasts together and just hoped that you will dig it. And i will stop typing while I am podcasting. SORRY!!!! Anyway, as always thank you for listening how ever you do. Be sure to follow my twitter account @EatKS if you want to check out the #NoPantsRecordStoreShopping mayhem. Remember that the playlist is hyperlinked to go directly to the bands' sites so please check that out to buy some music. Wanna help keep the lights on my podcast? Check out Nikki EatKS on Patreon or there is donate button link on my website. Here is hoping that 2016 will be even MORE MAYHEM AND MORE NONSENSE for you. Joe Strummer Special - Sandinista!
I am sure by now that some of you are probably getting bored of these annual Joe Strummer shows. But it truth there is SO MUCH music to talk about and uncover, if you are bored then you don't want to here some cool insights, fun facts, outtakes, rarities. I haven't tackled the self titled album yet! Although, I have done a special on Joe Strummer, Before and After The Clash, a continuing series of Joe Strummer -Rare and Obscure. When I first started doing these specials I did one about the covers that The Clash and Joe Strummer did. And another year I did a Joe Strummer/Clash special where I only played bands that were covering The Clash/Joe Strummer. Those two shows mentioned; I don't think exist on the internet anymore. It was way before my website and iTunes thingy. Perhaps I will find the old recordings and make them into playlists or maybe I will revisit those ideas again. The album "Sandinista!" can be seen from quite a few perspectives. This podcast only offers one perspective. The awesome Adam White and John G put out their Sandinista! Special this week on their punknews podcast I went and talked about the lyrics, the stories behind some of them, outtakes, and a Christmas song. And why I loved this album... When you look at this playlist I am sure that you are shaking your head and saying "Nikki, you missed all the good tracks!" My reply to you is, I didn't miss any tracks. You missed my point on this podcast. Again thank you as always for listening to the show, supporting my nonsense on twitter. To help keep the lights on this little DIY podcast I created a Paetron under Nikki EatKS you can support or don't. I am not your supervisor ;) The Clash - Blond Rock n Roll (Sandinista! outtakes) The Clash - King of the Road (Sandinista! outtakes) The Clash - Louie Louie (Sandinista! outtakes) The Clash - Magnificent Seven The Clash - Somebody Got Murdered The Clash - Charlie Don't Surf The Clash - The Equaliser The Clash - The Call Up Fat Les, Joe Strummer and company - Naughty Christmas

EatKS - Hangs Out With The Music Junkies Of 50thirdand3rd -Part 2
I talked and talked and talked with Ben, Scott, and Cribbs for so long that making the show into 2 parts made sense. And really, they didn't get around to really talking about their website. I know that it's hard to really promote ones' work. I get it. So I did it for them. This included the rants and the silly thing that I do now every once in a while... "What do you know about Joe?" Segment. Thanks to MrBoffly from twitter for the jingle for my segment Here is the playlist of some of the stuff that the have featured on their website James Brown and The Famous Flames - Why Do You Do Me Like You Do The Coathangers - Follow Me Dum Dum Girls - Coming Down FLOWERTRUCK - I Wanna Be With You Teenage Head - Brand New Cadillac Joe Strummer - Brooding Side Of Madness Joe Strummer - Smash Everything

EatKS - Hangs Out With The Music Junkies Of 50thirdand3rd
If you have ever paid attention to my show, I have done a few shout outs for the music blog 50thirdand3rd. These guys have been so great to all the music junkies that support the music scene. It was about time that someone did an interview about them instead of them promoting everyone else, they need to be promoted. Funnily enough in the podcast they can't help themselves. They promoted a shit load of other people in the process. We talked so much and ranted so much that this will be a 2 part podcast. The first part is all about the website, and the music picks. The second part will come out next Friday and will include the rants and the "What do you know about Joe" segment. Remember EatKS Listeners please check the websites for the playlists links and show notes. EaTKS Turns Four Years Old
In October this podcast turned four years old. I haven't even made 100 shows yet, so i have even debated about celebrating this nonsense of a podcast. If I had a studio to go to perhaps there would be more shows. But I do the show (horribly) from my home or borrowed places and this isn't a priority. That doesn't mean that I don't love doing this show. I am a super busy girl. If I got paid for this then probably it would take priority, would the quality of music selection suffer because of it? Maybe. GOOD NEWS FOR MY LISTENERS, in lieu of giving you music via the podcast all the time I have created a hashtag called #NoPantsRecordStoreShopping where I feature bands that I find digitally. Hence the clever hash tag. YOU DON'T EVEN NEED TO GO OUTSIDE! Full disclosure guys and gals: after my Ramsay Hunt shingles last year, my health took a turn for the worse. I ain't asking for your sympathy, but your understanding that this super multitasking: full -time working , university going, mom, is well, going to have to make some changes. I love this show, I love bringing this show to you. I love interacting and engaging with you, and you and yes you. Thank you for all your support. If you have donated to the show, know that it went to help pay for my licenses, my website, and the odd microphone. A very big thank you to all those that put in requests and gave me some amazing mp3 tracks. Folks you need to check out those podcasters, I have never steered you, wrong yet. I have battled the online radio egos and some radio snobs, the shingles, ms symptoms, and even did throw down with the mighty Soundcloud. Everything and the Kitchen Sink will not go down. I will continue to bring you new music how ever i can. Much love, Nikki Here's your damn playlist and remember to use the hyperlinks on the websites to buy some music eh?
