EP127: Dr. Kate Fehlhaber
Dr. Kate Fehlhaber has recently completed her PHD in Neuroscience from UCLA where her studies explored the first synapses of sight. She is a photographer, a pianist, and she is also the creator and editor-in-chief of the neuroscience education website knowingneurons.com.
In this podcast we discuss how sight works from the very beginning, how we interpret colors and she even finally puts to rest the age old question of whether or not your blue is the same as my blue! We also talk about women in science, the role the eyes have in the early detection of Parkinsons Disease, how her science of the eye has translated into a love of photography and a host of other fascinating topics related to sight.
