Dana Friis-Hansen, Director, and CEO, Grand Rapids Art Museum, and Yolonda Lavender, Executive Director, Black Arts & Cultural Center. They have graciously come to share some energizing artistic wisdom with us all. Let's lock-in and do more than just hear their thoughts, but let's listen to what all they have to bless us with. Dana Friis-Hansen took the helm of the GRAM in July of 2011. Prior to joining GRAM, he most recently served as Executive Director of the Austin Museum of Art. He is an accomplished curator, writer, and editor with dozens of exhibitions, catalogs, books, articles, and published papers to his credit. Dana thrives off being a connector and igniter for the community of people he serves! Yolonda Lavender is a national singer, songwriter, curator, composer, arranger and performing artist from Kalamazoo, whose sound is soul-based with the gospel, r&b, hip-hop, blues and jazz influences. In addition to her work at BACC, she is also the CEO of Soul Artistry LLC, as well as an advocate and activist using her artistry to spread the messages of peace and love and promote social justice to evoke change. Yolonda allows her action-oriented drive to empower her visions to reality.

Celebrating Women's History Month -w/Judge Christina Elmore & India Manns
In celebration of Women’s History Month, we honor outstanding women who empathetically pushes the agenda for women advancement. Judge Christina Elmore, 61st District Court of Kent County, and India Manns, Influential Community Advocate, come to share their story with us on International Women’s Day. Judge Christina Elmore is a graduate of Ottawa Hills High School of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Judge Elmore has served on the District Court bench since February 2016. Her legal career began with 13 years of service in the Air Force as a Judge Advocate General. Her journey has guided her to the roles of Kent County Prosecutor, Assistant Attorney General, as well as her own private practice as a defense attorney. Judge Elmore is an experienced and fair JAG veteran. India Manns is a native Detroiter and proud AKA, India is extremely active in the Grand Rapids community and is a very passionate advocate for change on issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion, and health parity in underserved populations. She currently serves on 8 boards and is involved with at least 14 other community organizations.

In Celebration of Black History Month - w/Dr. Bill Pink & Bill Manns
In this first episode of Entrepreneurial Gold live podcast, we were honored to interview Dr. Bill Pink, President of Grand Rapids Community College, and Bill Manns, President of Mercy Health. These two experienced individuals shared some valuable knowledge and wisdom with us. They were truly worthy of being celebrated for Black History Month. Dr. Bill Pink is has been an educator for over 25 years, in May 2017, Dr. Bill Pink became the tenth president of Grand Rapids Community College. Additionally, he gives back to the community by serving on numerous boards and is a sought-after public speaker on the topics of diversity, leadership, economic/workforce development, and faith-based presentations. Dr. Pink thrives on being a charismatic leader and goal-driven educator. Bill Manns, he has overseen numerous hospital renovations and has made a respectable name for himself in the healthcare industry. In August of 2013, Bill Manns was appointed President of Mercy Health Saint Mary's. Since that time, he has improved the organization's financial position and assisted them in having a bigger impact throughout the communities they serve. His proudest accomplishment to-date at Mercy Health Saint Mary's is the fact that one out of every three new hires is a person of color. Mr. Manns believes his innovative nature has allowed him to have a diverse perspective when it comes to formulating a solution.
