The Sustainable Athlete is a new series on Enthuse Life, where my Movement & Performance Coach, Shaun Brooking and I, discuss what it means to be a Sustainable Athlete. In this episode, we open up with an introduction to Shaun's background in sports and how he got into this sustainable movement space. One thing that I really love about Shaun is he takes a holistic approach with his Athlete. He's not just interested in the training regime or the workouts - he wants to check in with your mindset, with your sleep, what you're eating, how you're doing emotionally - the whole picture. Shaun believes we are ALL athletes, because LIFE is an athletic event. Even if you're a passionate CEO of a business or a stay at home dad who doesn't do sports, these activities require performance. For the CEO it's being in an office environment for 8-12 hours a day, making a multitude of big decisions in a day. For the stay at home dad, it looks like chasing toddlers around all day, keeping the house in top shape, etc. We are all athletes.The first topic we tackle is Injury Prevention. We chat for two whole hours on the topic. It's deep, it's not what you're going to expect, it's hilarious and ultimately, it's a massage that will liberate you to put your health first.
