Protect Your Peace and Spiritual Journey
This might be the most transparent, real, raw episode yet! Tamara and Hanna are normally very open about their thoughts on religion, spirituality and their openness in accepting others' beliefs and views on religion/spirituality as long as what they believe doesn't hurt or discriminate against others. In their openness, they have been approached by individuals that want the girls to adopt their 'truth'. While they know and hope these messages come from a good place, do the messengers know how their words affect someone that is deep into their own spiritual journey? Moreover, what it does to someone that has found peace in her spirituality while coping with a terminal illness. A very real question the girls ask is, "If I don't accept your truth, are you saying I am going to hell?" In previous episodes, although open to all healthy and positive beliefs the girls might have been vague about their own personal belief systems, in this episode, you will get their entire heart. Whatever you believe, protect your peace and protect your spiritual journey.

In Tamara and Hanna's quest to explore different lifestyles they have brought on a special guest, Nanci Kennedy. The girls 'found' Nanci through Instagram. Nanci describes her lifestyle as - cultivating peace, grace and intention through mindful parenting, eclectic homeschooling and regenerative farming. They learn what natural living means to Nanci's family, especially when it comes to food and products. One of the many benefits of natural living is how it spills into her parenting. They have a very honest conversation about gentle/conscious/mindful parenting verse the parenting styles we are more accustomed to. Nanci was a lovely guest and we hope you enjoy the conversation as much as we did! The Conundrum of Time - Special Guests: Jarrod Ward and Tony Goldsby
For the first time, since launching Energy Never Dies, Hanna and Tamara sit down in the same room to record a podcast. Not only are they in the same city and room, but they are joined by two very special, reoccurring guests, Jarrod Ward and Tony Goldsby. In the midst of the world dealing with the COVID-19, these four sit down to discuss time. What is time, is it real, how much of it do we have left, what do we do with time? In a situation like this, a world pandemic and quarantine, where we find ourselves with loads of time, what are we doing with that time? Where is our attention going? Time is an illusion, we use it to coordinate with other human beings. In doing so, time seems finite especially when considering death. We view time to be very limited and we are rushing to figure out what it is we are doing here on this planet - could we curb that feeling of being rushed if we perceived time differently? You may find like these four did, that having a conversation around death and time is impossible to do without incorporating beliefs, religion and philosophy. This is a deep conversation that they hope you will listen to and not be 'scared' away by the topic. In the west, death is feared, but by fearing it are we missing out on the beauty of life as it is, was and what will or could be after the expiration of this human life?

Pushing Tamara Through the Door of Self Discovery
As you can see this is a lengthy episode, but it is certainly worth a listen even if you have to break up your listening sessions! The best way to introduce this episode is by giving a little background on Tamara's state of mind weeks before this episode was recorded. Tamara wrote Hanna a text on February 12, 2020, that said, "I had scans done yesterday. Unfortunately, which I knew, the cancer is significantly worse. My liver is now covered in tumors. So I'm reluctantly starting IV chemo on Monday. I’m so emotionally exhausted from this life. I collapsed on Monday in the backfield looking for Frank (her lost dog) and had to be carried back to the house. My body is just giving out on me." When Hanna received that text she thought to herself, "Is this the beginning of the end?" On February 17, 2020, Tamara went in for her first chemo infusion where she went into anaphylactic shock. The nurses and doctors were able to quickly open her airway and get her breathing again. In true Tamara fashion, she didn't give up and went back for a second treatment. That act of going back and accepting the chemo as part of her healing process has taken her to a new 'plane'. It's hard to say what has changed for Tamara, maybe it was the anaphylactic shock, accepting her present as is or a deep understanding of how much she is loved - whatever it was, there has certainly been a deep mental shift and it unfolds before you in this episode. Through this conversation, you can literally hear Tamara's transformation from a down and out cancer patient to a strong, resilient human being that wants to truly understand herself and explore her mind. This is such an impactful and inspirational episode in Tamara's journey through cancer.

A Mother Finding Meaning and Purpose After Losing Five-Year-Old Son to Neuroblastoma - Special Guest: Annie Noll
"Death isn't actually an end, it's just a change." - Annie Noll This might be one of the most powerful episodes that the girls have done thus far! They talk to the very lovely Annie Noll about her journey and experience of watching her son fight through and pass away from neuroblastoma. There is a beauty to Annie, in that she is able to tell her and her son's painful story with such grace and elegance. She has an incredible gift of expressing suffering and the human condition in a way that you can feel and see the pain, but within that pain, you see the absolute beauty of what it means to be a human being. She is a person that you can relate to, admire, grieve for, celebrate with and respect. Annie was one of those gals that had it all! She was married to her college sweetheart, she had an excellent career ahead of her at a prestigious ad agency, owned a lovely home and in November of 2011 gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Things were good, however, as life does she and her family were shaken when her son was diagnosed with Stage Four, High-Risk Neuroblastoma at the age of 3 years old. They fought for 2.5 years when Jonah passed at the age of 5. At that time Annie was 32 weeks pregnant with her second son Harrison. In this podcast, you not only hear about the journey that Annie and her family took during her son's illness but how this has changed her perspective on life, suffering, living, the other side, heaven, connecting with her son on a different plane, religion, spirituality, the human condition and so much more... Annie is an amazing human that is able to frame life in such a way that seeing the light through the darkness makes sense. We are so grateful that she joined us for such an inspiring and thought-provoking conversation. Stay tuned for Part II with Annie Noll. Jennifer Milnes enlisted in the Kansas National Guard at the age of 17, she has been working public affairs for the last 5 years, she has worked with Germans, Italians, Norwegians, Jordanians, Kuwaitis, Omanis, Nigerians, and Ethiopians. She is currently a Staff Sergeant and hopefully will be getting promoted to Sergeant First Class next month. The three of them discuss matters around the world, government, politics, growing up in a small town and what it is like to be a female in the military. Hanna and Tamara are very grateful that Jenn shared so openly about her experience in the military and look forward to having more strong female guests in Season 2 of Energy Never Dies coming to you in 2020.

Episode 8- Finding a Moral Compass - Religion, Science, Community and Connection
In this episode, Tamara and Hanna explore this idea of a moral compass and dig into their surface understandings of religion. They discuss common issues they both see in religion, however, do reconcile it some with the benefits and moral compass that religion can provide. Tamara opens up about whether or not she thinks it is necessary to seek religion or something more because of her terminal illness. Don't miss a beautiful moment when Tamara surrenders some and expresses this notion of - what every happens 'after' will be okay. The ideas discussed came organically - they are based on their opinions and are limited by their own personal experience and knowledge, in that the ideas are incomplete in a true conversation format. This leaves a lot of room for continued discussion and dialogue that they would love you to be a part of.
