Episode 16: Rough & Ready Ghetto Luigi (feat. Big Poppa Boo)
The holidays (and technical difficulties) have our schedule as messed up as y'all wallets. Nevertheless, we are back with the gift of friendship, laughter, and football commentary - and a surprise 5 minutes of bonus content at the top of the second segment that had Ricky laughing too hard to cut despite his on-air protests. This week Michelle is off the Hennessy, Ricky quotes Martin Luther King, and our embarrassing childhood screennames are revealed. We also welcome Ricky's friend Warren to the show to discuss the end of a decade of putting folks through tables in Buffalo and the dreadful present, but potentially bright future, of the Bills. The trio then finishes up with a discussion of the Kyler Murray tweets and why we need to apologize more often. It's a wild ride! Enjoy and we'll be back soon with an undecided Christmas special of some sort.
78 minutes | Nov 27, 2018
Episode 15: Hateration & Holleration
Your favorite best friends are somehow simultaneously back earlier than expected and right on time! This week Dos Beckys exchange group project horror stories, Michelle pays her respects to Sean Taylor, and Ricky wonders if he loves game managers - and what that means for his opinions on the QB position. Finally, the duo closes the show with a discussion on why the NFL can't stop stumbling in its ill-advised quest to be a beacon of morality (and why the players keep stumbling in their opposition). Enjoy, kids!
60 minutes | Nov 23, 2018
Episode 14: Parents Just Don't Understand
It's the Encroachment Thanksgiving special and Ricky brought on his entire nuclear family to serve up some hot takes, fresh nonsense, and a healthy dose of STRESS. Michelle then brings on her mom to discuss the ethics of replaying and commentating on injuries during live broadcasts. As with any holiday meal, there is a LOT to digest here. Sit down with a drink and a Gas X and dig in!
46 minutes | Nov 16, 2018
Episode 13: The Bye Week
If NFL players get a bye week so should Dos Beckys, right?! This week Ricky and Michelle set aside a few minutes to check-in on their teams, but mostly check-in with themselves - both personally and in relation to the production of Encroachment. Enjoy!
67 minutes | Nov 6, 2018
Episode 12: Ricky Bobby (... and Michelle)
Buckle in for a really weird one! We open the show with Ricky & Michelle discussing drunk oversharing bartenders, dick pics from classmates, and the embarrassment that is the Dallas Cowboys. Robert, Michelle's brother (and a Green Bay Packers fan), then joins the duo to talk falling in love with Green Bay, Suzie's sports anxiety, the Sunday night 12 v. 12 showdown in Foxborough, and a lot more.
80 minutes | Nov 1, 2018
Episode 11: Is Kyle White?
This week Dos Beckys are joined by the Ginja Ninja to discuss murderous roommates, the top (Redskins) and bottom (Giants) of the NFC East, how the Colin Kaepernick situation feels from the perspective of a fan whose team is being QBed by the corpse of Eli Manning, and if referees should be fired more often. Oh - and somewhere along the way Michelle and Kyle let Ricky check-in with the Patriots and preview Sunday's Patriots v. Packers QB showdown.
70 minutes | Oct 23, 2018
Episode 10: "Was that rude to say?"
It's two weeks until election day and Dos Beckys came to play! We open the show discussing the Trump administration's latest assault on the transgender community and then wonder why conservatives are so allergic to honesty. We then connect it to football with a breakdown of the beef between Eric Reid & Malcolm Jenkins that was on display during Sunday's Panthers v. Eagles showdown. Somewhere in between all of that we discus Ravens v. Saints, check-in with our teams, and wonder what drugs Chad Kelly took at Von Miller's party.
69 minutes | Oct 18, 2018
Episode 9: #ServerLife
Football meets the service industry as Ricky gets a new job and Michelle dishes on her coworkers. The two then bring their past work experiences in the service industry, as well as their opinions on justice and workplace safety, to a debate on Tyreke Hill v. Belligerent Beer Fan. Somehow we also manage to love on each other, check-in on our teams, and talk about the brilliance of Kyle Shanahan, the "magic" of Aaron Rodgers, and Cleveland's disappointment in themselves.
67 minutes | Oct 10, 2018
Episode 8: Synchronized Swimming in the River of Hades
This week your favorite chocolate vanilla swirl compare their sizzurp experiences, read an official statement from Thick Daddy Boone on the Ravens taking an L, get to the heart of Ricky's real beef with Josh Gordon, and explain why watching the Redskins game on Monday felt like watching a puppy die. We end the episode with a very special Encroachment segment where Ricky and Michelle discuss what it's like to be a woman and a gay man who love football in culture that expects us not to. *Reposted due to technical difficulties*
60 minutes | Oct 3, 2018
Episode 7: Sam No Fun!
Encroachment welcomes its first guest! Sam (aka Thick Daddy Boone) joins us to talk our teams, rehash Rodgers v. Brady, and wonder why Amazon thinks women announcing football games = a different language.
73 minutes | Sep 26, 2018
Episode 6: NyQuil & White Zinfandel
Your favorite best friends have returned from Vegas and are jumping right back on the mic! This week Ricky & Michelle discuss Steelers v. Buccaneers, wonder what happened to Cousins and the Vikings, revel in the humiliation of Aaron Rodgers, engage in some super mild Patriots panic, and chastise both Amazon and America for setting up female announcers to fail.
50 minutes | Sep 21, 2018
Episode 5: Viva Las Vegas!
This podcast is a drunken disaster - but a fun one? We chat Browns v. Jets, slander several players and private citizens, ruin any possibility of us running for elected office, and announce a slate of unofficial official endorsements. Drunken Error Correction 1: Randy Moss was indeed with the Patriots for longer than 1 Season (2007-2010) - and Ricky still doesn't think Josh Gordon will last as long. Drunken Error Correction 2: Jordan Reed, not Vernon Davis, is the #2 receiver on the Washington Redskins.
76 minutes | Sep 13, 2018
Episode 4: 9/12/2018
Ricky & Michelle spend entirely too much time summarizing some of the more interesting games from the week, check-in with the Patriots & Redskins, and debate our Top 5 hottest NFL head coaches.
78 minutes | Sep 6, 2018
Episode 3: 9/6/2018
Ricky & Michelle discuss the two newest highest-paid defensive players in the NFL, Colin Kaepernick's Nike ad campaign, Tom v. Time (and age-ism in sports broadly), and the dragging of LeVeon Bell by the very men paid to protect him - and a lot of other shit.
78 minutes | Aug 30, 2018
Episode 2: 8/30/2018
This week Ricky & Michelle talk money moves in the NFL, debate the intersection of race / masculinity / fame, check-in on their teams, celebrate the end of the preseason, and give the middle finger to college sports!
69 minutes | Aug 22, 2018
Episode 1: 8/22/2018
In the inaugural (technically 2nd, but don't ask questions) episode of Encroachment, Ricky and Michelle discuss Tyreek Hill and the NFL's domestic violence policy, the year of Richie Incognito, ESPN deciding to no longer air the anthem ceremony during live broadcasts, and much much more!
