EYF008: Save Time, Stress Less, Start a Budget!
Did you know that 50 % of marriages end in divorce, out of those 45% cited money issues as the reason behind their divorce! Thats 1 in 4! And 65% of couples argue about money on a regular basis!  We believe this could be avoided with a monthly budget. Join us as we share with you what a budget is, the benefits of having one, and some resources to help you start smart , save time, and stress less. First lets go ahead and talk about what a budget is because not a lot of people use a budget. stats show that only 32% of Americans put together a budget each month to track income and expenditures, and just 30% have a long-term financial plan laying out savings and investment goals. In this episode you will learn: What is a budget? Why have a budget? Our favorite resources to help you start smart with budgeting Why a Fabolous & Neyo music video ended up in our show notes.  The Show Notes What is a budget? By Definition: The dictionary describes budget as an estimate, often itemized, of expected income and expense for a given period in the future. and a plan of operations based on such an estimate. In simple terms A budget is an overview of money coming in and money going out, a plan giving every dollar an assignment before spending it. As Dave Ramsey, an advocate for budgets, would say: “A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went” One of his tips that I admire most is “you must have a game plan if you aim at nothing you will hit every time” and this is so important for young families that are starting out. You want your finance foundation to be solid. you want to have goals and dreams for your family you want to have a game plan and aim to achieve these things. The best thing about starting young is you have the benefit of time in your court. you have more time to save more time to invest more time establish like i said earlier a firm foundation for your finances. It really surprised me when i read that 45% of divorcees divorce over money problems and 65% of couples argue about money! People come into a marriage sometimes with little to no skill in communication over money, car loans, school debt, credit card loans, and think they will always have to owe and money will always be a complicated issue but it doesn’t have to be. You could set up a monthly set goals and actually achieve them. You want and need to be able to to have the ability to say no and the freedom to say yes and thats exactly what a

EYF 003: What is The Stuck Mentality & How You Can Avoid It Ruling Your Future
Starting off as a young parent, I had a stuck mentality. If you have ever felt the feeling, this episode is for you. In my early moments as a teen parent I was working at Taco Bell, I remember standing in the window at the drive-thru in the late hours of the night. Thinking to myself that I was never going to get past that season in my life. I felt bad for myself sometimes, while other times I felt capable, but overall I had this feeling of "stuck". Today, life is much different for my little family. I no longer feel "stuck", so I want to let you know that if you are feeling this, there is hope. There is nothing in this world that could ever keep you "stuck", except for your own mind. I give you a couple tips I have learned from being a young dad and having to learn to overcome the feeling of being stuck. In this particular episode, you will learn: What the stuck mentality is The benefits of overcoming it How to avoid it ruling your future Links

EYF 002: Why I Chose to Be A Young Dad at 18 & How You Can Start Even If You Aren’t Ready
I found out I was going to become a dad when I was 18 years old. I never really knew my father and I surely didn't plan to have kids young. Like many guys that have kids young, we aren't thinking about the future, but what happens when we get a girlfriend, one night stand, or a girl we just met pregnant? That's the one reason I started this entire brand. There is an absolute need to know how to "Start Smart" as a young parent. Whether you are in a good, bad or mediocre point in your life right now, you have the potential to start off on the right foot. When you have a child young, it isn't the end of your future, dreams or life as you know it. It is the beginning of a new chapter of an entire new season of your life. I know, it may not make complete sense, but just give it a little time, start taking small steps toward being the dad you want to be for your little one and trust that you will be better off than if you just chose to run away from the whole entire situation. You have a unique opportunity to be present in your child's life. Take advantage of it. It's a gift.
