#45 Speaking with MIT scientist Stephanie Seneff PhD about her new book Toxic Legacy
An Interview with Dr Seneff is always as interesting and delightful as she is! And I always learn something! Her research centers on glyphosate (in Round Up) and her book, Toxic Legacy, is out now. It is a must read if you want to understand why toxic chemicals must be avoided to be healthy. Coupled with my book Surviving a Viral Pandemic along with Dr Paul Alexander's paper 14 Months Later, A Path Forward (episode #44 interviewee) , you will have everything to make informed decisions for your and your family's health. With this combination of information, you will be extremely well-informed to create the best health, a leap ahead of most everyone else Seriously. Here is the bio of the sublime Dr. Seneff :Stephanie Seneff is a Senior Research Scientist at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. She received the B.S. degree in Biophysics in 1968, the M.S. and E.E. degrees in Electrical Engineering in 1980, and the Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 1985, all from MIT. For over three decades, her research interests have always been at the intersection of biology and computation – developing a computational model for the human auditory system, understanding human language so as to develop algorithms and systems for human computer interactions, as well as applying natural language processing (NLP) techniques to gene predictions. She has published over 170 refereed articles on these subjects, and has been invited to give keynote speeches at several international conferences. She has also supervised numerous Master's and PhD theses at MIT. In recent years, Dr. Seneff has focused her research interests back towards biology. She is concentrating mainly on the relationship between nutrition and health. Since 2011, she has published over 30 papers, together with colleagues, in various peer-reviewed medical and heath-related journals on topics such as modern day diseases (e.g., Alzheimer, autism, cardiovascular diseases), analysis and search of databases of drug side effects using NLP techniques, and the impact of nutritional deficiencies and environmental toxins on human health.

#43 Talking with Dr. Christina Bjorndal, ND, mental health authority
With my book, "Transforming Trauma, a drugless and creative path to healing PTS" coming closely on the heels of "Surviving a Viral Pandemic through the lens of a naturopathic medical doctor" I invited Dr. Christina Bjorndal to share her knowledge and wisdom on mental health. A licensed naturopathic doctor and established keynote speaker on how to regain your mental health using a naturopathic approach, Dr. Chris, co-founder of Natural Terrain, a naturopathic clinic in Edmonton, she is an authority in the treatment of mental imbalances such as depression, anxiety and eating disorders. She is regularly interviewed for print magazines and online resources as a leader in her field. She is the mother of a 12 year old boy who reacted badly to a vaccine and thankfully recovered due to the efforts of Dr. Chris and her naturopathic and First Nation husband, Michael Mason-Wood. She has written four books to help others achieve physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. This is her story (abridged from her website, naturalterrain.com):"While I was doing my undergraduate degree at UBC in the late 1980s, I experienced debilitating depression and anxiety that was difficult to treat. I also had an eating disorder and was not coping with the stress I was under. Like most people, I had not heard about naturopathic medicine or orthomolecular medicine, so I was treated with conventional medications that were ineffective."Six months after starting an antidepressant, I spun into a psychotic, manic episode. It took six people to wrestle me into a straight jacket. I was injected with haloperidol and left in a rubber room to come back to reality. When I did, I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder type 1. Since that time, I have lived in shame because of the label of bipolar disorder. I just wanted to be 'normal.'"After surviving a suicide attempt (which left me in a coma, on dialysis waiting for a kidney transplant), I finally began the healing process after reading a book called A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson. Up until that point, I’d been living with the shame and stigma of the labels I had been given, and I had not accepted myself. Since reading that book and with the help of many types of practitioners, I have come to realize that there are 10 steps to mental wellness and there are more natural ways to treat mental “dis-ease” as I outline in my book “Beyond the Label: 10 Steps to Improve your Mental Health with Naturopathic Medicine.”"The sole reason I became a naturopathic doctor is because, when I was struggling with my illness, there weren’t many experts in this field. After attending the Orthomolecular Medicine Society’s Mental Health Regained Public Forum in 1999, I became a patient of Dr. Abram Hoffer’s and experienced my first depression-free year in 13 years. I also made some major life changes, such as resigning from my job as Head of Marketing in a global investment management firm after sitting repeatedly with the question “If money didn’t matter, what would I be doing?” The answer consistently revealed itself to me over and over again: Become a naturopathic doctor and help people using natural therapies and orthomolecular medicine."Her other books include Moving Beyond: A Journal Into Self-Discovery and The Essential Diet: Eating for Mental Health. She concludes with "Have faith that you can get well. I believe you can, and I wish you all the joy there is to be found on the healing journey. Let love for yourself always be your guide."Darn good advice.

#42 Dr. Heather speaks with Lawrence Palevsky M.D., holistic and outspoken pediatrician
I am so happy to be interviewing Dr Palevsky at this point in time because of my outrage that we as a society allow our precious children to be injected with toxic particles from experimental gene therapy. It feels like we are in 1930s Nazi Germany because if I thought it was ridiculous if not horrendous three decades ago when I first opened my clinic in Vancouver BC with so many children on antibiotics and/or eustachian tubes and then as the years went by shocked by so many given psychotropic drugs for behavior issues I am now completely and utterly out of my mind disturbed that we are jabbing them for a virus that very rarely affects children, or for that matter, healthy adults. As mRNA technology has never been used in this way, and we know so little about it for viruses, it is very possible this gene therapy - hanging out in our cells perhaps forever - will make people very, very ill over time, reacting to whatever is out there. And now we are giving it to children! Are we completely out of our minds? It is clear that government and the media haven't learned anything about health during COVID-19. It's incredible the high level of ignorance to what natural medicine - organic food, supplements, plants, homeopathy, cold water and so on - can do to help fend off anything untoward that gets past our innate immune system. Yet this is what we must learn or continue implementing as it is the only way to realize a truly healthy body, community and planet. Join us in learning more of what's so wrong right now. Make sure to purchase Surviving a Viral Pandemic through the lens of a naturopathic medical doctor to keep you and your family safe and toxin-free.BIO: Dr. Palevsky is a NYS licensed pediatrician, who utilizes a holistic approach to children’s wellness and illness. Dr. Palevsky received his medical degree from the NYU School of Medicine in 1987, completed a three-year pediatric residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC in 1990, and served as a pediatric fellow in the ambulatory care out-patient department at Bellevue Hospital, NYC, from 1990-1991. Since 1991, his clinical experience includes working in pediatric emergency and intensive care medicine, in-patient, and out-patient pediatric medicine, neonatal intensive care medicine, newborn and delivery room medicine, and conventional, holistic and integrative pediatric private practice. Dr. Palevsky is a diplomate of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine, and Past–President of the American Holistic Medical Association. He received his pediatric board certification in 1990, and passed his pediatric board recertification exams in 1997, 2004, and 2011.In his current pediatric practice, Dr. Palevsky offers well-child examinations, consultations and educational programs to families and practitioners in the areas of preventive and holistic health; childhood development; lifestyle changes; nutrition for adults, infants and children; safe, alternative treatments for common and difficult to treat acute and chronic pediatric and adult conditions; vaccination controversies; mindful parenting; and rethinking the medical paradigm. Additionally, he teaches holistic integrative pediatric & adolescent medicine to parents, and medical and allied health professionals, both nationally & internationally, and is available for speaking engagements worldwide.

#40 Dr. Stephen Porges and the Polyvagal Theory
Dr. Heather discusses Dr. Porges' work with him regarding the polyvagal theory. This shows how different parts of the vagus nerve of the parasympathetic system respond to where we are emotionally. We used to think the vagus nerve is all about calm and generating GABA, the calming hormone, but that in fact isn't true. By understanding what moves us or keeps us in the ventral vagus, the healthy mode, shines light on how we can move through trauma and everything else. It also shows how important social engagement is as this affects the nervous system deeply and is why compassion and community are so important to healing. I love that he was able to figure this out. He's obviously one very smart dude!! Here is his bio.Dr. Stephen W. Porges is a distinguished university scientist at Indiana University, where he is the founding director of the Traumatic Stress Research Consortium. He is also a professor of psychiatry at the University of North Carolina and professor emeritus at the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Maryland. His more than 350 peer‐reviewed scientific papers, published across several disciplines, have been cited in approximately 40,000 peer-reviewed papers. He holds several patents involved in monitoring and regulating autonomic state and originated the polyvagal theory, which emphasizes the importance of physiological state in the expression of behavioral, mental, and health problems related to traumatic experiences. He is the author of The Polyvagal Theory: Neurophysiological foundations of Emotions, Attachment, Communication, and Self-Regulation, The Pocket Guide to the Polyvagal Theory: The Transformative Power of Feeling Safe, and Polyvagal Safety, as well as co-editor of Clinical Applications of the Polyvagal Theory: The Emergence of Polyvagal-Informed Therapies, and Polyvagal Safety

#39 A WAY IN : Beginning with Breath work
An excerpt from my upcoming book, Transforming Trauma, a drugless and creative path to healing PTS this episode builds on a previous episode (#35) that has a guided meditation and visualization. Now we focus on Breath work, how and why, and the need to spend even a few minutes a day to practice this still point therapy in this challenging time. Practice it consciously and you will have more control over your breath and this will give you the ability to recruit this easily accessible activity when you are anxious, fearful or just plain fishimeled. (Yiddish for confused). It works so well before an interview or audition, and it's simple, no one will even notice. This is the first step to master your innards, your mind, that is. It is a way inside that can calm the amygdala, straighten out our executive function that goes on in the pre-frontal cortex. So take a long breath in and an even longer breath out...whatever feels comfortable but the longer the exhale in relation to the inhale will help activate the vagus nerve, the ventral vagus nerve of the parasympathetic nervous system. A daily practice will give you more control over your emotions, especially when things seem to be going sideways. Life then feels more calm, centered, you feel strengthened and all becomes in reach in a time when more than ever we need to take control of our feelings, thoughts and behavior to empower ourselves and heal the trauma of our beautiful planet.

Episode #38 With Ted Kuntz from Vaccine Choice Canada
Ted is the president of Vaccine Choice Canada. He came to understand how vaccines are damaging our children (and adults) in most personal and devastating way. His son five months old when he was harmed by a vaccine. Their story (and sadly too many others) is difficult to hear. However, Ted's ability to overcome through his courage and honesty is so inspiring. Amazingly inspiring including the closeness he felt with a son severely autistic. Ted has never stopped working to open people's eyes about the truth, the truth of he most important issue of our time, shining light on the continued lies of conventional medicine and the need for medical freedom. It was an absolute pleasure to interview a man with such integrity. Please listen and be moved.

Episode #37 With Dr Lyn Patrick, Part 2, on the Danger of the COVID vaccine
Lyn Patrick ND is co-chair of the annual Environmental Health Symposium happening the end of April this year. An old housemate of mine form Bastyr so long ago we talk about vaccines in Part 2 of our discussion about COVID and why so many in the naturopathic community have been brainwashed to believe they are something we should all line up for. The bottom line: vaccines are a coverup for bad healthcare. The fact this country (US) has such continually deteriorating health with some of the lowest healthcare scores in the world is something we should all be questioning. And if we don't the planet or at least the people on it will be going the way of the dodo and dinosaur. In fact Belgium virologist Geert Vanden Bossche, who has worked with Gates et al, and is very pro vaccine, has stated that a mass vaccination plan in the middle of a pandemic is a terrible idea and that it will lead to a massive healthcare crisis including deaths. We can only wait and see come Fall when COVID variants will most likely spike again. All I can say, and Lyn and many others join me in urging you to make a choice based on sound scientific knowledge. The COVID vaccines are an experimental drug. Why put yourself in danger when building your immune system naturally is well within your reach? This is why I wrote Surviving a Viral Pandemic through the Lens of a Naturopathic Medical Doctor. You can order it through any bookstore or get it on Amazon if you don't mind too much supporting Bezos. (His wife seems nice- she's donated millions of dollars to good causes apparently.)Above all, stay well and happy and have fun...amazing what joy does to the immune system!

Episode #33 Speaking with Dr. Lyn Patrick about the problems with the COVID vaccines
COVID Vaccines - This new technology is making those who are choosing to get vaccinated guinea pigs. Plus it doesn't stop you from transmitting the virus to others nor does it make you immune to it again. All it does is lessen symptoms if you don't get more serious side effects from the vaccine itself. Dr Lyn Patrick is a naturopathic physician who is co-chair of the Environmental Health Symposium 2021 coming up in April. She trained with the late Dr Walter Crinnion, doctor and writer about environmental toxicities and the need for detoxification for optimal and just generally good health. Now we are witnessing Chinese and Canadian scientists (who are not so easily censored as in the United States) warning about the problems with the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. Enjoy Dr. Lyn's knowledge and concern for our health. Also Surviving a Viral Pandemic through the lens of a naturopathic medical doctor is available worldwide. if you can't get it where you live please let me know at email@example.com.And again if you like what you hear on this no commercials podcast and/or in my books, essays and radio plays please consider going to patreon.com/heatherlouisaherington. Episode #32 Have you thought about getting the vaccine?
A great gift for those you love and want to stay healthy and understand the historical reason we are in this mess, my new book Surviving a Viral Pandemic through the lens of a naturopathic medical doctor is available to order at most bookstores including Vroman's in Pasadena, Otter Books in Nelson BC, indigo.ca in Canada and on Amazon. This episode, number 32, deals with the new Covid vaccine. Vaccination is an issue that has divided friends and family for years because of the mandatory laws in California and New York state and will certainly continue to do so with this latest one. I am grateful that for now that vaccines are not mandatory in Canada and hope and pray it will stay that way. The bottom line is...well listen to the episode and see...reflect on what you think about it. Do you have questions? It is your right to choose but there is a definite difference between variolation like that executed by that intrepid pioneer woman Henriette LeJeune (aka Granny Ross who lived near our homestead in the 1700s in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia) and modern day vaccinations. Thank you so much for listening. Please send questions to drheatherh@iCloud.com and I will answer them in time. If you can leave a short review and rating and subscribe and share it really helps to get the message out of healthcare transparency. And if you are looking for more on this line there are many to choose from especially Dr Brian Hooker in an early episode.Keep well and Happy Holidays! XODr Heather

Dr Cayleff wrote Wash and Be Healed: The Water-Cure Movement and Women's Health before spending over ten years researching and writing an extraordinary history on naturopathic medicine - Nature's Path, a History of Naturopathic Healing in America. From the Introduction, "Late nineteenth century naturopaths were an eclectic collection of firebrands who, despite their vast differences, openly loathed many changes taking place in medicine at that time."I just LOVE these books and loved talking to Cayleff. Turns out we were at the same national conference in Whistler BC when I gave my first major talk, "Triage in Treating Sexual Abuse Survivors."
