You most likely have heard the idea of loving your wife as Christ loved the church.   You may have heard that means being willing to die for your wife.   During counseling, my pastor told me a story that changed my understanding of that verse completely.   Haggai, was a prophet who depicted the concept of unconditional love.   Tommy Nelson teaches on the book of Song of Solomon in a literal sense.  Solomon gives a much different example of a man than what we know men to be today.   Men need to take their role back as:         * The one with self control         * The one loving unconditionally         * The one being Christlike         * The leader in sexual purity

This is my anniversary week.  Last Wednesday I posted about my angel – my wife.  In this week’s Episode I talk about the journey Sanya and I took after I decided enough was enough. Many times the topic of pornography is overlooked or ignored.  Either we think it’s natural for men or we think it’s best if we hide it.  Whatever the case may be there is a blanket of ignorance surrounding this issue. If we will stop playing church and get real we can find deliverance. First we have to accept there is a need to be delivered.  I believe there are men out there like me who are tired of being lost and tired living at hollow life.  Just pretending, day after day, that we have it all figured out.

In this episode we're going to deal with a major battle many men face today. Pornography is everywhere. Its free and easy to access. You actually have to be careful not to access it. But once it gets its chains wrapped around you its not so easy to get rid of. My guest today is Craig Gross and he has been on the battlefield fighting against this enemy with a ministry he started in 2002 called XXXchurch. Many think his approach is controversial but I believe if you listen to his heart and hear his story you'll find he's not totally out in left field. Having dealt with porn myself, when I first heard that he goes to porn conventions to reach porn stars I was a little unsure. How is it possible to do that and remain unaffected? Craig gets asked that a lot but his answer to that question points to a larger issue for the Christian. If we really believe we have the better way, the darkness of sin doesn't have the draw it once did before we walked in the light. So before you write Craig and his approach off, hear what he has to say. My biggest take away from this interview is that there are people out there that we disagree with, we don't like their lifestyles but God may very well be dealing with them. If we can't form a relationship with them and be a witness who will? Maybe Porn Stars aren't the people God is calling you to reach. Maybe you are supposed to reach other people Christians avoid for fear of being soiled. One of the first things people find out when they begin their journey to “live the dream” is that it’s very difficult. It’s not so much that the work is hard but the determination and mental changes you must go through are. Many have described it as the “entrepreneur’s roller coaster”. I would say it applies to any endeavor we take on. Whether it’s to lose weight, stop smoking, start a business or ministry, it all requires this huge initial effort. Most quit as soon as they get started because they see that very step and tall climb they have to make.In this episode we talk with Jay Combs about the hard work which is required to become financially free. With his experience he’s seen what most leaders encounter. People want the rewards. They like the results they see in the lives of successful people but when they find out what is required to achieve that success they decide “it’s not for them”.In my experience, the key is to never give up. Some will jump on the coaster, soar to the top and take off like a rocket. Others will struggle, fall, doubt, get up, fall again but if you keep pushing and learning you will make it.

I met Mike Hopkins a few years back after I was searching for personal growth online.  A particular search brought me to Matt Maddix who I followed for several months on social media. Then I found out there was an online show called Fuel for Success. I became a regular viewer of the show and was able to connect with Mike during the process. Their business has grown far beyond those Fuel for Success days. In the early days they produced Soul Winner's Bootcamp. Then came the super intense Mission25 trips in America. Mike and Matt are both very much into health and success, so they formed My Health 90 and then added My Health 365. These are just a few of the endeavors I am aware of.  More than likely there are many others they could add to this list. Now they are associated with the likes of Grant Cardone, Gary Vaynerchuk and Kevin Harrington with the addition of Matt's son Caleb joining the team. As all of this explosive growth was going on, Matt and Caleb's role was to soak up the spotlight. Meanwhile, Mike was faithfully making things work in his home office, affectionately titled "Studio 11". In this week's episode Mike gives us some candid looks into a few of the pitfalls of being the behind the scenes guy. We also talk about how it is possible to be the support man and still build your own dominion. Maybe you're like me and you have a behind the scenes job. You may be like Mike where you are part of a fast growing partnership but someone else is in the spotlight. It can be frustrating at times. Other times we can get jealous but as Mike explains, we can find our purpose and build a dominion of our own if we are careful to seek God's direction.

  One thing we promote at Dominion of Men is that every man has a purpose. On my journey to find my purpose there were many people who told me not to waste my time. They said I should be content with my life as it was. If you are like me that answer never satisfies. I even tried several times to just be content but the effort to remain unfulfilled became too much and I would soon be thinking there had to be more to life.   In this episode Nathan Thompson tells his story of how he found purpose in his life. His journey took some twists and turns. There was tragedy and confusion but eventually God revealed a plan that brought Nate to experience fulfillment and the power of God in his life.   Nate discusses some of the burdens men carry and how they have overcome through an intervention of the Holy Spirit. He also talks about some of the hurdles men face as they decide to take their role as men in their homes.   Have you been struggling with your own life purpose? Maybe you are questioning the concept of being a man and how to fulfill that role in your home. There is no question that you have a dominion God has placed you in charge of.
