0047: What Colour Is Your Personality? Let's Have Some Fun!
So just for fun, let's talk about personality types... in colour! Are you Red, Yellow, Blue or Green? If you're red, you're the director types... "be bright, be brief and be gone." If you're yellow, you want fun and more fun. You're sociable, dynamic and demonstrable. The thinkers among us are the Blue colour energies. They prefer to analyse things so if you want an answer, you best ask your question in writing! Now the caring, sharing Green personality types are the Mother Earths. They want to save the world and ensure nobody get's hurt. I don't think Boris Johnson is Green. 😂😂Listen to the podcast and then determine what colour you are and choose one other person and guess what colour they are too.And oh, there is no such thing as black colour energy, so you can't look at your significant other and tell them, "I know you! Your personality colour is black!" 😂😂

0046: The Destructive Nature of Distractions
Distractions... if it's not one thing, it's another. And it's not the obvious distractions like children wanting our attention or the disruptive telephone calls in the middle of a project, it's those distractions that keep our minds occupied for days, weeks and months. Those distractions we try to fix despite Jesus clearly stating that we are to cast our burdens onto Him. Sigh! In today's episode of Ditch Your Limits, I'm going to tell you the real reason the enemy is happy to keep you distracted - so long as you let him? He'll have us spend years investing in distractions that will take us nowhere. If you loved this content, come and find more over at theinfluentialwoman.circle.so

0044: Find Your Joy
In this podcast I talk about the struggles I've had in my business in terms of losing my joy, feeling unsettled and unclear about my direction and at times not even wanting to get out of bed.It took 3 days of praying and fasting to finally get an answer I'd been asking for several years and when the answer came, I couldn't believe how simple it was and I felt foolish for not seeing what was right before my eyes.

0043: How To Write So People Hear You In Text
And It's So Simple, A 7 Year Old Can Do It!If you ask a room full of 7 year olds if they're creative, the entire class will put their hand up. As that same class of 7 year olds turn 16, 21, 30, fewer and fewer of them will put their hand up and many will even tell you outright, "I'm not creative."But this isn't true. We've been conditioned to lose our voice in our text, but in this video I want to help you put your voice back into your writing so you enjoy it and when others read what you've written, they'll enjoy it too ... and if they know you, they're recognise it's you!

Yes, we've had a name change and the podcast is now called Ditch Your Limits. This is the show that will help you break free from your limiting beliefs and get you unstuck. I'll be challenging you to get real by being your authentic self so you bring more YOU, (the real you), YOUR voice, (your own voice), and YOUR message, (your authentic message) to the marketplace. Quick question ... Are you ready to be honest with yourself and have a spotlight shine on those areas that hinder you from doing what you've been called to do? And I particularly want to focus on you making small changes that will result in big wins in your life and business. In the words of Jim Rohn ...“Success is a few simple disciplines, practiced every day; while failure is simply a few errors in judgment, repeated every day. There is power in small wins and slow gains.” Enjoy the introductory episode. For more episodes, go to:http://www.ditchyourlimits.comTrish

0040: Funspirational Friday - Against All Odds
Elodie tells the story of Leonardo da Vinci and how he succeeded against all odds.Leonardo da Vinci taught himself, maths and English and would draw things around him. His father showed his work to a friend who owned an art school and Leonardo da Vinci was accepted into the school. After sculpting the angel, because the owner of the art school had never seen anything like it, he ended up closing the art school because he was so awed by da Vinci's work he felt it couldn't be replicated.Apparently, so Elodie says, he was quite self absorbed and rarely finished anything he started. That said, he still inspired her and hence the reason she wanted to share his story.

0039: How To Avoid Getting Involved In Other People's Drama
One of the biggest productivity hogs is drama! When other people suck you into their drama, your attention gets diverted from what you're doing to someone else and their circumstances. These people are attention seekers and they're seeking attention from you. It's not always easy to recognise a drama queen or a drama king, and it takes spending time with them before you realise just how much they either create or stick their nose into any drama going. They often exaggerate the situation because they love the drama and embellishment is all a part of ensuring the drama stays alive! If you want to be successful and you want to be productive, you're going to have to identify and then manage those around you who cause drama. In this episode, I talk about how to deal with these drama kings and queens.

0038: Focus At Will Productivity Tool
Today I want to recommend a productivity tool called Focus@will.Focus@will is a neuroscience productivity tool that uses music to help you become more more productive and focused. You can listen to different sounds including classical music and sounds of water. It's great for taking your mind off everything else that distracts you from being focused and productive. If you're like me, even though you don't like ironing the minute you get down to write an article or create a program or whatever you're thinking about all the iron that's behind that door that needs to be done. And a little tip from me, if you want to get to sleep fast, stick that thing in your ear and you will be gone in no time. Focus@will is also great for those times when you need to get your mojo back.

0037: The Curse of Over-Editing
When it comes to podcasts and videos, we all want to sound and look like pros, but is it possible that too much focus on editing can actually be a stumbling block to our success?I get it ... as coaches, speakers, consultants, we want to look and sound professional and that's good, but let me ask you this question ...What does professional look like?To some people professional looks like perfectionism and perfectionism itself can be used as an excuse to not get things done, or it can become a blockage to your success. One of the ways I learn is by watching and learning from people who are already successful in what I want to achieve. One such person I've learnt from, is Gary Vaynerchuk. I don't even drink wine, but in the days of Gary's Wine Library TV Show, I used to watch those shows just to get some video tips. And Gary once said that he had disciplined himself not to edit his videos or audios ... he published them raw.I know this would make some folks cringe, but this is exactly what I've started to do on Speak To Trish, and it feels so liberating.A Polished Performance Doesn't Guarantee More ViewsA recent survey revealed that people actually preferred the unpolished videos above the studio professionally produced videos and I hope these results are enough to encourage you to get out there and do your thing! When you get a chance, I encourage you to go check out Abdul Mohammed's videos on YouTube, particularly his earlier videos from 7 years ago. He used a flip camera to record his videos in his hallway with his string vest on. The lighting was so poor and his background far from studio quality, but just take at look at where he is today.Incidentally, I just visited his channel and he still records in his car - 5 years later! And check out the number of views he gets per video. Not bad for someone who doesn't even edit.Edit Your Media But Avoid Over EditingI need to say that in case someone thinks I'm suggesting you don't edit at all. The important thing is to maintain your authenticity!

0036: A Presentation Tip - What To Do With Your Hands
It's hard isn't it ... knowing where and what to do with your hands during a presentation. If you put your hands in your pocket, it's unprofessional, if you fold your arms you're being defensive but in my view, if you're directing a plane, the other two options are much better!Don't Be False, Let Your Hands Speak ... NaturallyI'm kinda joking about directing a plane, but for some, their forced hand gestures look just as though they are employed to direct the taxiing plane. :-)So how do you fix that? How do you speak as naturally with your hands as you do with your mouth? It's all in the heart!Have you ever watched a Jamaican, Nigerian, Caribbean person speaking? We speak with our hands, our eyes, our head ... in fact our entire body. And apart from being cultural, it's down to one thing ... passion! You see, when the heart is confident about what it wants to say, the hand gestures just become natural, rather than forced. Watch Gary Vaynerchukwhen he speaks. His hands are all over the place. He speaks with his eyes, his head and yeah, his entire body. I know Gary's not Jamaican, so I'm going to put his passion down to his Jewish heritage! Haha.Back to serious, the more comfortable you are with your speech and with who you are, the more natural your hand movements will be.Personally, I'm loving this new era of live video that we're entering into, because people are removing their "professional" masks and just being themselves.I say, say "goodbye" to the workplace communication training that forced you into phoney hand gestures and say "hello" to natural authentic. And no, you don't have to be Jamaican, you just have to be naturally you. :-)

0035: Your Personality Type In Full Colour
Elodie and I are talking about personality types in this Funspirational Friday episode. It all began when Elodie noticed a book in my office when she was about 7, called It's A Zoo Around Here, by Nigel Risner. After perusing the book for a while, she said, "I'm the monkey aren't I mummy?" I laughed so hard because it's true, her personality type is just like the money in Nigel's book. In essence, she's the socialiser, the types who are extroverted, demonstrative and dynamic. She also has more than a touch of the director type in her too. Wonderful combination, just like her mother! Why Knowing Your Personality Type MattersDespite what you were made to believe from sitting in a classroom with about 20+ others, one size does not fit all and we all have a different way of learning, listening and understanding. The Monkey, as depicted in Nigel's book is more of a visual learner, whereas the Elephants are the direct opposite. They like to analyse and the pay way more attention to detail than the fun-loving, lively monkey. It's been a BIG bonus to Elodie that I learnt about personality types and their preferences before she was even old enough to start school. For her, it's meant us understanding that she needs to see it before she can understand it. This was true for me as a child, but it was never recognised. If you have children, give them the gift of knowing and being comfortable with how they learn and who they are so they express their gifts fully.
