EPISODE 46 - Rebecca Atwood
Brooklyn based designer and artist Rebecca Atwood believes in the art of making. I believe that how you get to a finished product is just as important as the final design. Each step of my process, from first sketch to production techniques to our shipping methods, is so important. I don’t believe in perfection, but I do ask myself, “How can I do things better?” frequently. I like to think you can see that when you purchase one of our pieces. And I like to think that our process is part of the reason you can feel truly good about bringing our pieces into your home. https://rebeccaatwood.com/ https://www.instagram.com/rebecca_atwood/?hl=en

EPISODE 43 - KABRIA CUMMINGS
Chicago native Kabria Cummings has interior design in her DNA. Her parents, Sam and Ella Cummings were quite the dynamic decorating duo. They scoured thrift stores for items that they could breathe new life into. They made drapery, reupholstered furniture, gardened, collected global art and her father even built his own furniture. Additionally, Kabria was influenced by her cousin Thea Nerissa Barnes, who collected artisanal items while traveling the world as a professional dancer with Martha Graham and Alvin Ailey. Decorating and collecting art from her travels became part-time hobbies while Kabria established a career in graphic design and marketing. However, the deaths of her parents two months apart and other life-altering events that included the end of a long-term relationship, surgery, and the loss of her job of 10 ½ years, prompted her to reevaluate things. Kabria knew that she wanted to pursue her passion for interior decorating full-time.  In 2016, she founded Global Attic LLC. Global Attic sells a carefully curated collection of one-of-a-kind home décor sourced and sometimes designed by Kabria. The statement pieces transform bland living spaces, convey individuality, and help to support the global community. They are handmade by artisans from around the world using natural and sustainable materials in places such as Africa, Indonesia, India & Haiti. https://www.globalattic.com/ https://www.instagram.com/globalattic/?hl=en

EPISODE 40 - BRIAN PAQUETTE
With a background in painting and conceptual art, Brian Paquette brings a singular point of view to the Seattle and San Francisco interior design scene. Rather than following a particular style, he draws inspiration from a variety of sources: architecture, travel, and the natural world, to name a few. For Brian, interior design is not something sterile or static; it’s a living extension of art, meant to be touched, used and admired. That mindset is at the heart of Brian Paquette Interiors. We are a high end design firm and we build custom spaces that are at once open and intimate, grounded yet light. Our Seattle interior design team works through a close, collaborative process, creating homes that reflect our clients’ identity, history and aspirations. We partner with local craftsmen to ensure every element in our projects is unique and carefully considered, with its own story that adds to the greater whole. Founded in 2009, Brian Paquette Interiors provides full-service interior design. Our Seattle and San Francisco interiors have been featured in Architectural Digest, Dwell, Luxe Magazine and more. We also regularly work in Los Angeles, New York City, British Columbia and beyond. In addition to interior design, we offer furniture, textiles and décor through Brian Paquette at Home. Our online shop is yet another extension of Brian’s personal aesthetic. Experience it for yourself. https://brianpaquetteinteriors.com/ https://www.instagram.com/brian.paquette_/?hl=en

Episode 34 -Albie Buabeng
My passion for decoding spaces is the culmination of nearly a decade of retail visual merchandising and freelance marketing, sprinkled with a lifetime of experiences. Using my background of space design and storytelling, I took my real life lessons and launched an online interior design service. My love of design has evolved into a destination for inspiration centered around my blog, video, and social media content. For years, I worked as a self-proclaimed “silent salesperson” — a retail visual merchandiser translating brands’ visions into something tangible and transactional. My marketing degree taught me how to "sell" brands, my retail job taught me how to "sell" lifestyles, and my day-to-day life taught me how to bring them together to tell a story! WHEN I MADE THE NATURAL TRANSITION FROM PRODUCT PRESENTATION INTO INTERIOR DESIGN, I WAS SUBSTITUTING FIXTURES FOR FURNITURE & APPAREL FOR ACCENTS, AS ANOTHER FORM OF STORYTELLING. https://albieknows.design/ https://www.instagram.com/albieknows/

Episode 33 - Drew McGukin
Drew McGukin tackles the interior design world with a unique level of energy, great pace, and integrity. He is known for a touch of the unexpected, combined with beautiful textures and bold patterns that vibrate with a perfect amount of sophistication, warmth, innovation, style, and approachability. Graduating from the New York School of Interior Design in May 2010, Drew kicked off the lead designer in his own New York-based firm in October 2010. While Classically trained, this self-proclaimed pattern-addict has fast become one of the leading contemporary designers in today’s market. “I’ve never been a wallflower,” says Drew. “Neither are my interiors.” In 2019, Introspective Magazine described Drew as designing “with a commanding intelligence and an ability to articulate his ideas sharply and clearly – a rare quality among younger designers, who often struggle to describe their work. And his aesthetic is anything but recessive. His style is forthright and high impact, characterized by strong and graphic patterns deployed with confidence and skill while avoiding eyeball-straining shades that can be visually overwhelming.” The International Furnishings & Design Association quickly recognized Drew’s Signature style and named him a Rising Star. Drew has sat on various designer advisory councils including the ASID Board of Directors and the New York Design Center’s Access to Design Referral Network. He has also engaged as a creative consultant for renowned industry giants like Cosentino, Delta Facet Company, and Monogram. His work is regularly featured through traditional and nontraditional media, and a favorite across numerous social channels. His portfolio remains a standout on heavy-hitting digital design platforms like 1stdibs and Houzz – a nod to his extraordinary online following. In 2018 Drew launched his first capsule furnishings collection with Crate & Barrel. Drew McGukin Interiors design innovative interiors across the United States that tell a story by combining bold choices and rich textures to create subtle, sophisticated designs that require you take notice, then relax and enjoy. https://www.drewmcgukin.com/ https://www.instagram.com/drewmcgukin/?hl=en
