Podcast Ep. 06- Expectations vs. Reality
“Expectations are premeditated resentments”.  I personally feel that this quote is useful and actually practical in reality. Psychologically speaking, there are two facts related to this:  Expecting something to happen will not make it happen.  People have a tendency to pin their hopes for happiness on fulfilled expectations.  We may expect our partners to live up like romantic films, jobs to be idealized versions, and life matches up like “Instagram Feed”. But do you know that these expectations can create stress when they do not match up with the reality?  Therefore, it is high time to build awareness and manage our expectations, according to the actual situations. Listen to our podcast and let go of expectations and find something to be grateful about, even when things do not turn out to be the way you hoped, and experience the serenity.  Remember that the only person you should be competing with is “you”. People can feel the pain when, they lose a job, position, income, etc. Even a major change in life like death of their idol, getting divorced and more can make you grieve. We only need to understand that we cannot lose sight of our responsibilities. It’s okay to not be okay! To overcome this overpowering pain, express your feelings, face them, and most importantly don’t let people tell how you feel and don’t tell yourself how you feel either.
