I can't sleep, I keep thinking about stories about James Allen, Sports Lodge Producer, and our two years working together at Angels Radio AM 830. I was laying in bed reflecting on memories, sound sheets, guests, laughs, and how much our years working side by side, the two of us, meant to me, and it took me a half-night to realize how many ways he affected me.    I recorded 12 minutes. I meant for it to be 2. I'm hopeful it might make it out on the air on AM 830, as a suitable memory of the quickest thing that came to mind, although there are many more stories, as we watched sports, life, and the world's events transpire over 2 years directly working together, and 5 years at the station.    I'm going to talk to my 200 high school students about him today, donated to the GoFundMe, also seeing  CaringBridge page, and wanted to thank you (the listeners of Am 830, friends and family of James, and AM 830)  all for the experience of working with him, and you. In so many ways I wish I had stayed, or could have returned again.    He really was the Producer to the Stars, an deserves that nickname, and I'll be forever grateful for our times together working, even when they were challenging.    Rest in peace to a big brother I never had. I enjoyed the 4th of July Weekend in Lake Tahoe California, but really missed my guitar. This theme was running through my mind, as if my instrument were beside me, so I sat to record it and share it. I took no edits or second passes, so it is a thorough one-take recorded acoustic piece, but I like the ripples and waves it makes, just like the water on the surface of Lake Tahoe. In a simple recording session, I reflected on some thoughts of appreciation and frustration, that melded together to create this song. It's a combination I rarely right in, and I am surprised that I actually stuck in the studio tonight to take it from stanza to song demo, I hope you enjoy it, and I am grateful for the chance to appear in several Couch Concerts, thanks to the coordinators, and everyone who has been supporting my music, before, during, and since! Also, thanks to all 250k+ of you who have downloaded my free music for the world project over the last decade plus, you're amazing!   “Couch Concerts”   We’re playing a concert series, called couch concerts.  Nobody’s dressing up much, travelling.  We’re longing to see, people talking over us.     While we try and explain the origins of our music.    I’m getting my house ready, for a couch concert.  Its just my wife and me, and she’s not watching.  My daughter’s three, she knows nothing here.  And it’s the best way to traverse time, when a year can disappear.    We’d hope to be back soon, on stages in Concord.  Maybe make a trip across the bay, for an hour and a hot dog, as pay We’ve never met before, And we applaud each other,  And pre-recorded smiles must count f   or more than ever before.    I wonder what Billie Joe must think from 20 miles away, is this the Gilman street dream, or a Contra Costa fevered sleep?   The best part of the year, was a Couch Concert, A stranger supported my music, on Couch Concerts, I felt part of the East Bay, on Couch Concerts,  I wanted to get out again, on Couch Concerts   Help support Danny Hauger's Music Podcast new album "Lime Light" on Bandcamp  (pay what you want! Maybe an instrumental for a Hotel Lobby with Eastern influences, or the front room of a fusion lounge. Strange but somehow good at the same time? Features chimes, strings, and traditional instruments with a house/techno beat. 

I had no idea what keys I was playing today, what chords they made, only played by sound, and liked that came out. Essentially 3 piano parts, interchanged, with drum variations, and then an impromptu guitar and bass session to fill out, it felt finished at that point, and here it is! Four years ago today I recorded a song called "I Believe" and included an unplugged version on my album, "Songs to Wake Up To" Now, that version may be better than what I did over the past 2 hours, but I had a good afternoon recording and enjoying the harmony and reimagination of the song, as "Every Now and Then", here presented as a free, unmixed demo.
