Personal vs. Fan Page for Facebook Advertising
One question that I have been asked recently is, is it better to use your personal Facebook profile or a fan page for Facebook advertising?  First, let’s talk about Facebook policies on the matter. Facebook’s terms of service state that a personal account cannot be used to represent something other than yourself (ex: your business). I know what you are thinking, but you are your business and that is what you are representing. I know I know, but your account can and will get shut down for using it for business purposes, offering services, etc. Now that we have Facebook’s policies on the matter my thought is, you should definitely be using a Facebook fan page for your business. Think about this for a minute, you are looking for an accountant to do your taxes.  You find two online. The first one you go to has their own office, a receptionist and is wearing a suit and tie. Very professional right? The 2nd one you go to works out of their house.  You knock on the door, their wife answers holding a screaming baby.  You trip on toys going into the house.  There is food still out on the table and the accountant is in his sweats behind a stack of papers having a drink. Not so professional is it? Your Personal Facebook page is the same way.  Pictures of your dinner, kids, and maybe a Friday nightwere you had way too much fun are all things you would like to keep personal and not have potential clients and customers see. A Facebook fan page is more professional and it allows you to keep your personal and business lives separate. I am not saying that you can’t have fun and post pictures on your fan page. That actually helps boost engagement. Here’s one of the most important things to think of as well. You cannot create ads for your personal page, you must have a fan page to do that. Creating ads is a fantastic way to get more likes on your page, build engagement and convert more leads. If you share a blog post or a video on your fan page you have the option to boost that post through an ad really bringing more attention to your brand. That’s my thought on the matter.  What do you think? Oh, and while we are on the subject don’t forget to like my Facebook page below! If you are looking to grow your business online, get more leads and build you list then watch the free video below to learn how.

Daily Media JumpStart Episode 1
  Daily Media JumpStart Show Notes Welcome to Daily media Jumpstart podcast This is a short podcast covering different subjects every day. This show is Broadcasted live on Facebook live then the audio is upload to the podcast feed. You can like my Facebook page here to watch the broadcasts.   Today I am going to talk about 2 social media platforms that I recently started using, well one that I recently started using and one that I just preregistered for. The first one is called golivewithme.com They are currently allowing people to sign up and claim their channel or username but the actual service hasn’t launched yet.   Golivewithme.com/lcfaulkner Live broadcast platform like Periscope, Facebook live, Blab and others with some interesting features. Able to host private broadcasts for training, friends, family etc. Yes, Blab has that option as well it will be interesting to see what GoLive with me has to offer when it is launched.   The next one is Anchor. Anchor is like twitter but with voice posts instead of texts. I have been using it for a few days now and love it. I have met some pretty cool like-minded people. It is a way to connect with people on a more personal level as you get to hear their voice and respond with yours. The messages you send are called waves you can add hashtags your waves so other people who aren’t following you can find you. When people respond to your wave it creates a thread just like in twitter and you can listen to all the replies and find more people to follow. You can add me on anchor @lcfaulkner I would love to hear from you.   Well, that is it for this episode of Daily media jump start. I’ll see you tomorrow! Make sure to subscribe to the podcasts in the sidebar. Follow @LCFaulkner !function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],p=/^http:/.test(d.location)?'http':'https';if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src=p+'://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js';fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document, 'script', 'twitter-wjs');
