Our Goals for 2023
Before you focus on goal-setting, it helps to pull back and focus on your overarching life priorities first. This ensures that the goals you’re setting are in line with both your long-term vision and core values, rather than being short-sighted or an inefficient use of your time and energy. It’s easy for goal-setting to become an overwhelming process. Some goals, especially the big ones, can feel especially daunting or impossible to begin. But the truth is you can reach any goal you set—no matter how big or long-term it is—as long as you break it down into small enough steps. With that in mind we all share some of our goals for 2023 in this episode.   +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ REMEMBER: If you have any suggestions for topics please add in the comments and we will be sure to include them. Is the modern man a hunter or a gentleman? A manual labourer or a technophile? In today's culture the modern man usually is a mix of many things. The modern man must be adaptable. Gender roles are changing and blending together and the stay-at-home dad or part time dad population is growing. More fathers than ever are participating in their children's nurturing and upbringing. The thing is that fathers and mothers come into the parenting process differently though. For the mother, the connection is biological. It's a part of her. Fathering, on the other hand, is less so. Therefore, it's important for men to learn the skills they need to be a good dad. For some guys it's more intuitive, like kicking a football, but most guys need a coach or some direction. DADDY EATS LAST discusses what it means to be a man and a father in modern society and all the issues that comes with both.

Important traits for kids - A is for Adaptability
Today we to discuss adaptability. Some children are very flexible and are able to progress smoothly and quickly after they encounter a change in schedule or routine. They are also able to accept new items or ideas easily and without much fuss. Other children, however, have a more stressful time transitioning. This is a trait that I’d like to think that I have, in that I can adapt to changes reasonably well…..but is one that I worry might not be a natural trait my son has. We have a few tips for parents in teaching ability to their kids....and themselves.

As they get older, they learn to confront problems and resist peer pressure. More important, having a positive self-image helps a child feel happy and capable of maintaining personal relationships. We go through some tips on helping building confidence in your kids.

Being successful as a parent.
What does being a successful parent may look like?   Don't get me wrong, I make heaps of mistakes as a parent, but I do actively try to think about trying to be a good parent (in my case a dad) a lot and I do read different opinions (in articles and books) and listen to different opinions (mainly in podcasts). I also stuff things up.....frequently.   My many mistakes aside I know what I want my parenting to lead to. My only goal of being a parent is raise a happy and caring human. Raising a child who turns out to be a happy teenager and adult oh and also one who openly cares for his fellow humans. That is what success actually looks like to me.   Over the next few weeks when Ryan & Matty are not available for an episode I'll be running through some of the many things that I think are really important when raising kids.   By things I mean main character traits that I think are really important to try and teach your kids that will give them the best chance of being happy when they are older.   And don't worry if you don't have those traits yourself.....maybe they can help you as well.   Because to me that's all the matters.

Saving your time....to spend on what you want.
One of the most annoy things you can do to me is waste my time. It's always been an issue for me. Why is that?   Physicist Albert-László Barabási once wrote, “Time is our most valuable non-renewable resource, and if we want to treat it with respect, we need to set priorities.”   I cannot put it any better than that.   So how can you reclaim some of your time back, well ‘ve got a few quick tips that may help you do exactly that (so long as you don’t go and then waste it on flippant stuff). ++ Is the modern man a hunter or a gentleman?
