CYBERnyama006 Digital Rights in Kenya

We look at the situation over the last week in Kenya where there has been a shutdown of TV stations as well as a crack down on opposition members. We look at the current digital rights environment, examine the media shutdowns of last week, and focus on current threats to freedom of expression in Kenya. Our guest on the podcast is Ephrahim Percy Kenyanito (@ekenyanito), Digital Programme Officer Article 19 Eastern Africa. We also have a new co-host and podcaster on this episode, Collins. We discuss digital rights and freedom of expression in Kenya, shutdowns, data protection, and the origins of Ephraim’s family name.
